I love the caw caw. What is it about getting old and only appreciating nostalgia? I'm mid 40s and having to fight that thing, whatever it is. Pretty soon I'll be chasing kids out of my yard and jerking their sagging pants up. Carry on with your caw caws!! I'm choosing to stay young and "with it."

I always smile when smu and ut win games because it seems to make some people hurt all over. It's funny how worked up some people get. There's a few who are obsessed with the other guys. I'm not any less a fan than anyone on this board. Just don't have such a fragile ego that other teams being successful causes me grief.

I think we can make a game of it. UT has a lot of question marks and a new staff. We are coming off a great season and playing very confident football. UT historically plays horrible football the first game or two, even when they're good. I'm just not going to get in a pissing match with their obnoxious fans or write checks the players have to cash. This game won't make or break the season. Since it's in my back yard I'll be there early and in green. Win or lose, I want the kids to play hard, play fair, and be relentless. You do that more often than not, good things happen.

Using A&Ms nicknames for UT is more embarrassing than arguing with high school kids.

I thought he was a good hire, too. Wish I had the money to help the school fix this problem.

I have no desire to ride out next year with the current staff. I'm worried we have no choice (as fans.) I'm hoping the investment in the football coaching staff is going to somehow trickle down the the basketball staff. This school with support a top notch basketball program. You have to spend real money and get a real coach. I have zero inside knowledge. Just gut feeling based on realities, we are probably saddled with this less than mediocre mess for at least 1 more year.

That brings up a whole other issue of admission standards for athletes. I'm more talking about entitled laziness. There's a lot of that, too. ;-)
