Nt Athletic Web Site Article On Jc Signees
nautique replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
What does that say about all the other slew of WR's in the stable? Riley will now have some JC talent to throw the ball too, hopefully. These guys should have the bonafide talent to be starters or they wouldn't have brought them in. You would think Dunbar moves to the other slot vacated by Casey or Brock. Now just two more guys in the rotation at WR. Dodge knows for Riley to shine, he needed some talent and it appears he may have gotten some good experienced Juco's. -
Dodge makes promises to Dodge. DM knows that. Now do you still expect a big turnover with players leaving PHS? Or have things cooled down and everyone staying? Not sure how you can tell a player he is a starter without ever seeing him compete against your other CB's, but hey, Merry Xmas to those CB's who lost their position on the depth chart heading into spring. That was a sales tool that should never, ever, be used.
-
Hopefully this dude can play. We need some press coverage capabilities this season.
-
Hopefully, not a soph. jinx. Man, there was nobody there tonight. UNT did play at the level of the powerful HBU. But a win is a win, just ask the Cowboys last night.

Looking Ahead To Mean Green Football 2009...
nautique replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
Your mistaken. Dodge and Dodge will lead us to the New Orleans next season. Don't doubt the power of the SLC mystic that will carry forward to the collegiate level next season. Going to the black pants and off they go. -
Looking Ahead To Mean Green Football 2009...
nautique replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
The fun thing about 2009 will be watching the parade all-american and UNT's greatest recruit starting in '09 with 4 inexperienced starters. It will be nice to see him run the option and run the ball, period. It will also be interesting to see how much Deloach improves the defense and special teams. I believe he will coordinate the special teams next season since that is what he did at UCLA. Truman will be tough to replace. Casey was all we had last season, that caught the ball consistently and who could make a play with his feet. But even then he had his fair share of drops. I hope Dunbar can be Riley's go to guy in the slot. You might see some transitioning in the spring from moving some DB's to WR's, similiar to what they did with korey Washington. -
I would buy Vito's dinner for a good interview with Meager and his Dad. Of course I would stand in line for a UFC bout between the Journalist and the Coach.
-
But wait Harry, you did not take into consideration that 15 or so players are leaving per Mr. Meager.
-
I don't think the Pres. is too concerned about Dodge and football season.
-
According to PHS, we will be losing some 15 players who will quit this team, and since Rick buys into all his crap, why doesn't Rick give us the list of names. If PHS says it, it must be true according to the world of Rick.

Let's See Here...chad Rose Starts And...
nautique replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
Great post Rick. You have been listening to the Meagers and the Roses all season and buying all their sincerity. Ask the real senior parents who didn't have a hidden agenda and who weren't miserable, negative Nancy's the last two seasons. Rick, your so gull able and you bought into all the bs. -
Fw*telegram Nt Seniors Leave With Fond Memories

Matt, Casey, Isacc, Truman, Colt, Ryan, were all great people first and foremost. Isaiah, you are all heart my brother, I will see you tonight. -
No, what would be refreshing is somebody taking responsibility for the team and the lack of execution. Dodge's ego is way too large (ask the local media) to say he is not getting it done. Where is the accountability? For once in detail, it would be nice to see someone on the staff (for the players sake) that they are not getting it done. BUT that will never come out of Dodge I just want to know whether Deloach or Ford would deflect pressure off the team? It would be nice to see Dodge say, I'm not getting it done this way, but this is how we are going forward, these are the changes we need to make. Hopefully, it will be done soon after the Ark. State game. Hopefully, the media will make Dodge accountable.

Sorry, Gary Deloach, Coach Deloach, Defensive Coordinator Deloach, or whatever it is. You might want to pull down your DODGE/Deloach banner down. It didn't work too well in 2008, they must be have been on the wrong political ticket.

All the seasoned veterans on the board can't answer the question. How about you PHS? You seem to have the pulse and the balls to let it fly. If leftwich is so great why wouldn't he play his best players and why would he come back to UNT over a proven and better program in Tulsa? How about Deloach?
-
Now this would be a great interview to get from Brett Vito from both Todd Ford and John Deloach!!!!!!! Still don't know why our coordinators are not subject to interviews and can duck responsibility but the players are paraded across to the media to answer wtf is going on. Some of the artice boring parts of the article have been deleted. Recommend 0 By Brent Zwerneman - Express-News COLLEGE STATION — Joe Kines enjoys sharing his humble roots in tales that typically include a David Letterman-like zinger. Kines' current coaching situation, as taskmaster of one of the nation's worst defenses, is arguably as uncomfortable as his rearing. In a nearly-no-win situation, Kines has proven himself great in spinning a yarn. And bad at spinning a scrawny defense into something tolerable in the tough Big 12 South. Just ask him. “To stand up here and tell you I did a good job this year — I would be lying,” Kines said. “Straight up.” He's right. Kines' disheveled unit ranks 113th nationally (among 119 teams) in total defense, with a merciless season wrap set for Thanksgiving night against rival Texas and the nation's eighth-ranked offense. “If we could go back and change one thing — all year long — if we could just get in the right place we're going to be miles ahead,” Kines said. Instead, the Aggies find themselves miles behind and mired in last place in the rugged South, with a defense that has worsened as the season has worn on — one Kines takes responsibility for.

Why doesn't he start? Why wouldn't Lefty (who everyone says is great) start his best player? If you guys consider Lefty, such a talent why wouldn't he play his best, it makes no sense. Why would Lefty leave a program like Tulsa to come to UNT? If I was betting, it might be the same reason Deloach is back. Look at the results.

I think the last thing on any player or coaches mind is giving a freaking interview especially during a season like this. All the Dodge cliques and all the players thoughts are pretty stale by now. No one wants to talk nor throw their team, be it players or coaches, under the rolling truck. Why doesn't Deloach ever talk about his defense or lack of? Why are coaches protected but players are not? Makes no sense. Troy Phillips is just a Dodge puppet in most cases. Where Vito doesn't kiss anyone's ass. I think Dodge did his QB a disservice with his comments about Vizza. He sure wasn't slick like he normally is for those types of questions. He is slick on questions for him but I guess not for his players. I sure would like to hear from Deloach and not get the company line. What would be great would be an one on one exclusive interview with Chad Rose, Daniel Meager, Matt Phillips, etc. and see if those kids have the stones to talk about the program freely and honestly. Now if Vito can get that interview, that would be something. Anyone know Brett well enough to see if he can interview from the seniors after the season for a little heart to heart. After all, what could it hurt, Meager's dad has already called Dodge and Ford, Dumb and Dumber.

I am sure Bill Snyder has DD #1 on his list. Dickey concluded his ninth season at North Texas where he has compiled a record of 41-62, including a 33-20 conference record. . His 2005 team finished 2-9, which included six straight losses to finish the season. The Mean Green finished the 2005 season tied for last place in the Sun Belt Conference standings. He had three winning seasons in nine years at North Texas. "UNT’s athletic director, Rick Villarreal, made an informed decision, which I support," University President Dr. Gretchen Bataille said. "UNT’s athletic programs are focused on student success — not only on playing fields and in arenas, but also in our classrooms. We will continue to recruit coaches and students who are committed to winning athletically and academically." Definitely, DD will be in the Big 12 with his magic offense.
-
I would like to see him rotate Meager and Phillips during the entire game. You might as well. Start Kartay, Latiff, Rose, and all the seniors.
-
Who is calling someone a schmuck? DD as a QB coach for Bill Snyder? What a joke. DD is going into personal retirement. His career is over at the D-1 level. Well, maybe not, Rick can pull off anything.
-
Wow. I love when you choose sides, it makes me warm and tingly. I was paying Rick a compliment, he personally got Mendoza fired. Well, at least by the actions of Mendoza preparing to kick Rick's ass, he got fired. Rick took one for the team.
-
Rick has RV's cell and his ear. The most public figure of Mean Green Sports has the phone line to the "bat cave" to start the ball rolling. If you want anything done with UNT athletics, Rick is the man who can get it done. When he wears his hat, people stop dead in their tracks and listen, especially at the athletic office. Rick got Mendoza tossed for his on the field behavior so when Rick talks, heads roll. LOL

Too many other proven choices in Texas. Boise is the only deal, no comparison. Just like the University of Montana, over 22,000 legitimate fans at their home games. UNT will never be a Boise, or an Applachian State for that matter. UNT is stuck with the NMST's, Idaho's of D-1 until a new stadium is built and when the University truly ponies up to be a true D-1 University. It sucks but true.
