Texas Rangers
woody82986 replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
If they took away the walking space between the bullpen and the field in right field and took out the space between the seats and the field in left that is used to update the scoreboard out there, and then moved the wall back, it would give them another 8 to 10 feet of field. The problem is the wind that swirls around there. If they would take out the glass windows around the luxury boxes it wouldn't be "quite" as bad. -

I am a Texas Rangers die hard. I just can't help it. I would consider it a successful season if we played .500 baseball for all 162 games. -

I added my bracket to the gmg.com yahoo group. I'll tweak it during the next few days. -
Uta= Unbelievably Tainted Athletics
woody82986 replied to DallasGreen's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I watched most of the 2nd half of their game today. They had moments when they were in complete control and dominating. They also had moments when I think a high school JV team could have mopped the floor with them. -
UTA up by 1 with 12.4 seconds left.

Haha I drive out that way about once a week during the summer and I look at that stand of trees every time, and had no clue that's where that was. We lived down that road for a few years when I was really young and then my grandparents moved farther north on 51 so I used to drive out that way all the time. Interesing how you can pass by soemthing so great so many times and never even realized it was there...

Pit Crew Co-founder Running For Student Body President
woody82986 replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Seriously... seriously... As I said earlier, I support an athletic fee. However, it's not just up to the student body president if that goes into effect or not. There are many more people you should be courting leadership from than that one position on this matter. Why not read up on the SGA a little more before you start throwing a guy who is simply running out under the athletic bus? I have enough stuff on my resume. I'm running because I care and because I feel I can execute the position effectively. I don't need the job, I want the job. -

I would support a Student athletic fee if that is what the student body wants. I have already made it known on this board that I am in agreement with those here who think an athletic fee should be put in place. Just remember, the student body president's job is not to dictate policy to the students. -
Pit Crew Co-founder Running For Student Body President
woody82986 replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Haha, you guys crack me up. I think that a lot of the reason that more students don't show up for games is because they simply don't know about them and in the end, only a certain number of students are basketball fans or sports fans in general. I think that having a Pit Crew leadership that consults with the leaders and Pit Crew alums of past years as well as the Super Pit management and the athletic department in general is the first step toward creating a sports environment that more students can come and enjoy. Getting more students to games is a goal of mine, but getting the students that already come to stand up and be a loud and imposing force on the opposing team is another issue I want to tackle. I want students to come to games not just to fill seats but to be loud and spirited as well. -

Have you ever sought me out Flyer? Ever looked? Actually, I have been to the majority of games this year. I am the other student running for Student Body President. I'm either standing in the front two rows with the current student body president or I am up a little higher with my girlfriend. I didn't want to post on this board trying to squeeze out a few extra votes but I feel like I was called out and provoked into doing so. The Pit Crew needs more organization, yes. I said organization would make the Crew better, yes. Having several leaders who can work with the athletic department and the management of the Pit will help the Pit Crew, yes. I want 5,000 students at the game next year, not 500. Having organization and a plan will help get the Pit Crew there. Of course the trash talkers get the front row! Go Mean Green! -
First Round Sbc Men's Basketball Attendance
woody82986 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I think the students were great last night. We had quite a few different events going on and the student crowd was still good. Greeks had an event and there were a couple other things too. I made it for the 2nd half. -
So how is the planning for our new stadium coming along? haha

I did my part to get the word out. I'm running for student body president and put up the letter and the info about tomorrow's game on my website and facebook group.

It's almost like that movie "Accepted" where the high school seniors didn't get dmitted to any other university so they create their own to fool their parents. Only that was the South Harmon Institute of Technology. I bet if South Harmon had a basketball team, they would beat NJIT too... -
That score is exactly what I wanted to log on and see!
