  1. Sure, what the hell? I don't really have any pictures of me going nuts in the stands though(maybe another Talon does) - so I doubt I'd get picked.
  2. You nailed it when you said we wouldn't be close to another school that played the sport. It'd be a financial black hole. Though it would be kinda cool.
  3. Hope he impresses some folks and catches on there...or wirh another squad.
  4. Anyone who wins Wimbledon is not overrated. She has the competitveness of Seles - who had more fire than any woman I've EVER seen play. She could be a great one. (BTW: I've played and followed tennis since I was just a lad)
  5. I think Jude Law is one of the best actors of his generation.
  6. The critical consensus is that S2 is a really good movie. I doubt it's the best of the year though. I loved Gary Cogail - he was one of my favorite critics when I lived in the metroplex.
  7. Eh, Coach K going to the Lakers would be more like a Jedi being seduced by the darkside. It really saddens me that he'll probably leave. Some coaches just belong in the college game. I would never accept Knight or Smith in the NBA. It's going to be hard seeing Coach K there.
  8. I really hope this doesn't happen - since I like Coach K. Plus, he belongs in the college game.
  9. Cold Mountain was a very good film. The opening act was bordering on dreadful, but once you hit the 40 minute mark or so the film improved dramatically. Really well acted all aound(Renee's win was well earned), and technically superior. The cinematography especially was top notch.
  10. I'll call him right up guys.
  11. As I said before I never root for UT at anything if I can help it(there are maybe 2 schools higher up on my despise list). Even though I live in CA now, I'll always consider myself a Texan. But I will NEVER root for the Longhorns if I can help it.
  12. It was pretty big news out here - since Fullerton is about an hour(give or take) away from Los Angeles. It takes alot for me to root for UT in anything, and I definitely was pulling for CSFU. As was said, we share alot with them really(including a huge enrollment, but next to no press or alumni backing). Congrats Titans.
  13. Preach it brutha.
  14. Last night I was at an early screening of Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow a thowback to the serials of the 30's and 40's. It was hokey, over the top, and alot of fun. It comes out in September.
  15. Eh, non FB stuff gets posted there all the time - some non BB stuff here is no biggie.
  16. Eh, Los Angeles took it pretty well. I think the city was expecting it after Game 4. I'm terribly pleased that I didn't have to hear folks celebrating in the streets like I did two years ago. Oh, and as much as I hate the Lakers, this is still nothing compared to watching the Yanks fall.
  17. Funny you ask Plumm...I was thinking about it. Though I'm not 100% sure where it is, I believe it's an hour(depending on traffic) away from my pad.
  18. I didn't find TOTS *bad*, but it wasn't very memorable. I saw it the first time around a year or so ago I guess - and have spent very little time reflecting on it. It's come on STARZ and it's affiliates numerous occasions, and I've watched a few minutes here and there, but it just doesn't hold my interest. Like I said, not a waste of time in the sense that Battlefield Earth (or name your bomb) is, but in some ways worse because with the truly bad ones, they're seared into your memory. This one just isn't.
  19. Tears of the Sun is the definition of mediocre. Not even in the same league as BHD.
  20. They moved the US release date for that thing so many times, it's hysterical. Interestingly it has been seen elsewhere- and in film festivals. I'm not sure it'll ever be released in domestic theatres. It'd probably be easier to get a copy off of ebay.
  21. I also highly recommend both Monster and Mystic River.
  22. I'd say the athletes in the best shape are the cyclists that compete in the Tour de France. Most of those stages are like 60+ miles and the race lasts a whole month. That's hard to comprehend.
  23. I'd say decathletes are the best athletes on the planet. To be world class in 10 different events? No WAY can anyone top that. As to the original point of this thread. I really don't enjoy the NBA anymore - even though college basketball is still FAR AND AWAY my favorite sport. I'd rather watch the Stanley Cup playoffs anyday.
