  1. I have been a big JJ supporter by and large. But this season is making me really wonder.
  2. North Texas would get their game shown in the DFW at the very least. Kind of like when any southern California school gets in that's the regional game that gets broadcast here in LA. So if Cal State Long Beach, or Pepperdine gets in the Dance, that's the game we see(as long as UCLA isn't playing at the same time).
  3. But you make no sense Rick. We were saying that getting into the tournament would get us alot of coverage, equal to or more than our New Orleans Bowl appearances. Of course if we go 15-14 or whatever the team will get us no ink.
  4. Least the women won.
  5. By the same token could you name who played in say the '02 Independence Bowl without looking in archives somewhere? Not usually, un;less you had a vested interest.
  6. I watched on TV. I was 9 at the time. The coverage of the tourney is a ton better now than it was back in 1988. Ever since CBS started broadcasting the opening round in (I wanna say) 1991 it has grown. Not that it wasn't a big deal before that, but people tended to not start watching until CBS started broadcasting games in the 2nd round. ESPN wasn't avalable in nearly as many households 20 years ago.
  7. Women aren't getting whipped, but they are losing by 7 with about 12 minutes to go.
  8. Higher seeds are given priority on where you play. If you're a 1 or 2 seed you'll prolly play close to home. Lower than that it's really a crapshoot.
  9. If we keep winning I could see 6K+ at the last home game.
  10. Let's hope so.
  11. NT wins 84-77. Big game on Saturday!
  12. Ladies might be getting back on track. We really had no reason to be .500 in conference.
  13. Losing by 28 to ASU is unacceptable. This team has alot of talent and is a definite NIT type of squad(okay based off of what I can hear on the broadcasts since I can't see them in person). We'll never get a postseason invite with a loss like that. If we can't win 20 games with this caliber of squad we should start looking long and hard at Coach Slinker.
  14. Really could be a special season.
  15. I could take a few easy pot shots at that statement, but I shall refrain. To bring it back to NT, alumnus Larry McMurtry co-wrote the screenplay and he's favored to take the Oscar!
  16. I saw it about 2 weeks ago. Fantastic film, infinitely better than I was expecting. I haven't seen all of the most "buzzed" movies around town, but out of those i have seen it's probably the best. IMHO
  17. I've had a ton of issues with the audio tonight.
  18. If we don't get a rash of injuries...there will be no excuse for this squad not at least making the NIT.
  19. We had no excuse for getting dominated like we did in the first half. I did like the way we came back in the 2nd though.
  20. We played sluggishly, especially in the first half. And yet we still almost came out with the win. Still a tough loss to take.
  21. They're really incredible this season.
  22. I must also apologize for Emmitt's tent. When I was back in town in October Zeke, Emmitt, Erin and I used it. Somehow the blame for breaking it fell on me(though I think we were equally guilty). That tent wasn't red. So throw all blame this direction.
  23. USC actually has about 30K students, which is downright massive for a private school. And while i can't speak for all of them, I know quite a few nice, reasonable SC alums/fans. I've been picking the Men of Troy since about August. But I'm starting to get the vibe that Texas wll win this game.
  24. Wow, a win over any ACC school is great! Way to go SBC.
  25. This isn't the Tulsa of a few years ago, but this is still a terrific win. I wish I hadn't been fighting audio issues all night though(wasn't able to listen to much at all).
