  1. Congrats guys.
  2. Hope you don't have to work tommorrow.
  3. Huge win. Eagles everywhere should be proud of our Meangreen.
  4. Playing well so far.
  5. http://orgs.unt.edu/talons/ A few years ago('02 perhaps) there were a series of emails they sent the alumni keeping us up to date with things. I think it lasted about a semester, and they probably just had the most recent alums on file, but I got them.
  6. Yeah, can't say I was happy to hear about the alumni voting rights taken away. Emmitt being my best friend we usually agreed in principle on what Talons should do, just not always in the way it was handled. This he said/she said, are they doing enough/quit bitching at us - current discourse seems to demonstrate this. Emmitt's a leader. Seriously, he's the kind of guy who walks into a room and people gravitate towards. I saw him take over a meeting as a PLEDGE for crying out loud. He'd make a great general if he were in the military. What Emmitt has never been as good at is diplomacy. It's his way or the highway. And he'll give you a not so gentle *push* towards the highway in hopes that you'll get run over by an 18 wheeler. That is not always the best way to motivate people. It sounds like maybe Talons needs a kick in the pants right now, but it appears Bryan wants to be worked with as a fellow Talon instead of preached to by a holier than thou alumni. Lest we forget early in our day all we heard was old timers tell US how Talons wasn't as good as it used to be- because it did happen circa 97-98ish. Just my 2 cents. (Once again showing how EJ and I worked well as a team. He'd piss people off and I'd soothe the ruffled feathers and make sure they did what he wanted them to, LOL)
  7. I really do think history has been overly kind to us.
  8. Though I'll just be lisening to the internet broadcast I agree. We definitetely need to get behind whoever the starter is...even if it should be Woodrow. This game is very big, they need all the vocal *support* they can get regardless of who plays...or doesn't.
  9. I don't think I've ever been so happy to be down 21 before. I screamed here at home.
  10. West Virginia seems to be a solid pick with their schedule and the fact that they are damn good. They probably only have 1 major test before the NC contest, so the odds favor them.
  11. A little history on the subject. http://orgs.unt.edu/talons/mascot.htm We obviously didnt have great luck with them.
  12. Twenty eight here, graduated in '01. Since we're on the subject of where we are emotionally...probably 20. I actually think I had my stuff more together in college!
  13. I watched all of the Italy game and parts of two of the others. I really like the way the squad is coming togethr, though Italy really showed alot of our weaknesses this morning. Anyone else been waking up insanely early to watch any of the action?
  14. Never gone overseas like that, but here in LA over the last nearly 5 years - nary a monthgoes by where someone doesn't take notice of something NT that i wear and strike up a conversation. Met NT, UT, A&M and TCU grads that way. Also met a few music people, and folks just from the DFW area.
  15. I almost feel compelled to write her and complain. But since I don't exactly live in the area or listen to her show it's probably not my place.
  16. My favorite places used to be Sweetwater Grill, Baris, The Loophole, Hooya, and The Tomato(soon to be torn down ). And of course Beth Marie's for dessert.
  17. I also hope it was a faulty test, but I have to say it looks like Floyd cheated his way to the podium. Very, very sad. He'll be stripped soon enough if it's true.
  18. It wasn't too regional....I had the UT/ULL game in Los Angeles too.
  19. His ride on Thursday was amazing to watch.
  20. Oh Jason, you know it is! At least Im not at MARC.
  21. I can't imagine it's Pleasant Valley, which I believe is in Northern California near Sacramento. The San Fernando Valley is huge, but it sorta includes Burbank. He probably lives in one of the communities there.
  22. I'm in Hollywood. About 2 miles give or take from Grauman's Chinese and all that fun stuff.
  23. I'm on the West Coast, so I guess I'm only 3 hours different from you. I'm usually on kinda late to just read stuff. The board is slowly coming out of the post basketball "What is there to talk about" time period, so I'll prolly be around more than I have been.
  24. What I used to see from Texas fans was a generational thing. Folks who were students when A&M was dominating, or at least competitive in the rivalry viewed A&M as the chief rival. Those that went to school or became fans when Texas regularly beat A&M view Oklahoma as the main rival. Makes sense to me.
