  1. The only part of your statment that I disagree with is the part about RV trying everyhting. Is quite a few people on this board stated they didn't see any on-campus advertising this week. The athletic department has a markettign dpeartment, and Saturday night falls squarely on their shoulders. The report to RV, so the attendance falls on his shoulders too. Before coming to UNT, RV became very successful with Domino's pizza. If he can not only survive, but suceed, in the cut-throat industry of retail; then he has the talent to put butts-in-seats. If I remember right, that's why the steering comitte thought so highly of him. It was something I noticed at the time, and thought very highly of.
  2. The studetn section has always been weak. It'll probably drive Darrel Dickey to quit, take a job at Ioqa, and take them the Rose Bowl.
  3. Yeah, some students do work. We have more than 25,000 students though. What percentage of these do we draw? Do the on-campus students even come?
  4. Yeah, Cerebrus and Harry will re-post the rules on stuff like that about every other week. I think continually ignoring them has thoroughly defeated them. I bet some of the stuff we pull on this board really suck the life force out of them.
  5. The point is double moot becuase RV is a classy individual. Those clowns at Florida only made this move in a thinly veiled ploy to re-hire the guy who left them high and dry or a bigger bucket of cash. I highly doubt RV would attempt to upgrades coaches in the middle of the season, and then ask him to finish out the season.
  6. If recruits sitting with alumni is a potential recruiting violation; then why don't they sit on the student side? I mean, its not rocket science. If sittig on the alumni side could potentially jeopardize the enitre program; then why would you do it? I can't just understand why the Eagle Angels would walk that incredibly thin tight rope.
  7. Oh hell. I misunderstood. I naturally assumed that's where they would be. My bad.
  8. "Why is there not a box for the recruits and recruiters? I think the stands are for the fans! It hacks me off when the recruiters complain about the fans around them." Recruits are placed in the stands so that they get a sense of the wonderful atmosphere and support that UNT has for the football team. Its part of the sell. That's why A&M has always recruited so well; that atmosphere is mesmorizing.
  9. I have sold plasma for less.....so yeah it's worth it.
  10. Someone asked the same question approximately 1 year ago: The premise: If UNT was playing conference game (on campus or off-site) that would basically decide who would play for the national title. Becuase that is what this Saturday will probably decide. Each of us would spend $200, and give up a kindey to see that contest. Period. Some on this board would probaby even steal the money form their grandmother.
  11. For all of you who don't think that someone will not transfer to a "lesser" institution for playing time; a DMN articel today outline how Chance Mock will be doing the same thing. And the Smith/Mock analogy is an excellent fit here.
