Quarterback fakes only work when the defense is 'faked out.' IE, they think you are going to pass, and you run ther ball instead.....when they know that you are never going to throw the ball, its not really a fake. I'll take whatever Qb can heave the ball to Quinn without breaking stride...becuase that will take pressure off the O-line and the running back.

I believe Ohio State got in trouble for paying players. We don't have to worry about that, as our athletic department jsut doesn't have to funds to misappropriate like that.

I noticed that they predicted we wouldn't take any of our conference games. My feeling is that's not a shot on the talent on our team as much as it the safe bet, based on history. <_

I have a different take on this list. I am not sure if you can differentiate too much between the 101st and the 110th team; but it does disturb me that so many Sunbelt school are still in the bottom percentiles....we (as a conference) need some of these schools to improve relative to the the overall field.

To me it speaks volumes about how far the team depth has come. One of the best receivers to come thourhg UNT gets buried behind "some running backs." Out of curiosity, how would you rank Quinn ahead of the 03 or 04 rushing champions? In a run oriented offense?

I have several thougts: How many of Benson's yards every year came against Rice, FIU and the likes? That was the draft day knock against recently drafted from Penn State (his name escapes me), and he still went in the first round. Wasn't that a knock against Demarcus Ware? he went on the first day, didn't he? If Jamario takes care of business, the NFL scouts will find a way to scout him; and properly evalute his talent.

I would bet that, like DD, RV is considered an "up and comer" in the ranks of D-1; and thus his name will be thrown out as a candidate for most any position that comes up (especially is he has held a position of any sort in that program previously).

They were. The previous several weren't. I have been out on this whole lockout bit since I read the CNN-Money's (or some other financial rag) examination of the financial state of hockey. Really blew me away. I have tried to find the link again; but couldn't. I do know this: those folks (owners and players) are gonna really struggle to overtake women's tennis once they resume play.

Norm had an intersting not ethe other day: It is illegal to use "scabs" in Canada for any labor stoppage/dispute. It is also illegal tu use foreign works in the US to replace locked out/striking US laborers. Makes using repalcement players real interesting. I find it real hard to feel sorry for a sport that saw this CNA armegeddon 10 years ago. Everyone has known about it for the last 3. # years; and they couldn't figure it out? NHL owners that over-expanded the sport; and players that want salries like MLB or NFL. I'm glad I follow amateur sport, like college football or the Olympics. Sports that are clean, and free of these kidns of issues. <_<
