  1. Maybe they don't read the DRC, or Rivals.com Maybe someone should send them the link.
  2. Here's the DRC article: JUCO Signings Here's the Rivals Page
  3. A 4-star, and two 3-star recruits are transferring because of a lack of playing time. I wonder when these kids will figure some of this stuff out: Article
  4. Actually, in Jamario's freshman year there was an article on the two freshman running backs from Texas. The asked Peterson if he had been contacted by UNT, and he indicated yes. In the article DD indicated he had received a postcard from Peterson that basically indicated "thanks, but no thanks." So DD did "waste" his time contacting Peterson.
  5. To my knowledge, there is no early signing period for football. Everything's an oral comitment until Feb; for HS students.
  6. If he was being recruited to play defensive back; then he should be fastest enough to not only move around the pocket but also to gain yardage. Spring practice should be interesting. I can't think of a clearer message to the quarterbacks on the roster: everything's a competition.
  7. I am thrilled that he will be here at midterm. The difference, at least in my mind, is that it was top tier programs asking him; not the directional Louisianna's of the world. From the description; Wilson appears to be a first class athlete.
  8. Found this; seems accurate: 2006 Sept. 2 @ Texas Sept. 9 @ Tulsa TBA SMU Sept. 30 Middle Tennessee Oct. 7 @ Troy Oct. 21 Florida International Oct. 28 @ Louisiana-Monroe Nov. 4 Louisiana Tech Nov. 11 @ Louisiana-Lafayette Nov. 18 Florida Atlantic Nov. 25 @ Arkansas State
  9. I noticed that too. It used to be on their site; but have since taken it down.
  10. At this point, the only victory that I think we can bank on is that UNT will win the spring scrimmage.
  11. As I have to put up with this Pac-10 BS everyday; I have been forced to watch a lot of their football...the USC defense is very porous. Their secondary couldn't defend Richard Bridges throwing to George Marshall..... The Rose Bowl is not going to be that easy for the Trojans. They are far from invincible.
  12. The stats you psoted as also misleading, as the offense has been getting better each week. The part that disturbs me is that each week we seemingly give up more points. We haven't held an opponent to under 24 points since Florida International. Sunbelt opponents shouldn't score this many points against us. Me, I'll live with Meager and the rest of the offense. This "defense" really bothers me. Every opponent has lined up and ran straight ahead at us. Very disturbing. I hope they use all 7 mid-year scholarships on defensive linemen. Could really use some help at those positions.
  13. I read the stats, and a couple of things stood out: 1. We threw the ball 37 times. There have been homestands where we didn't throw the ball that many times. 2. We gaine dnearly 400 yards. That's pretty good. 3. Meager completed 16/24 passes. That's good enough for this offense. 4. We gave up over 400 yards. Once again our defense we weak. Meager has caught a loit of flak this year; in my estimation it is the defense that will have to improve this off-season. The UNT offense isn't that bad. To be competitive next year; we will have to find some linemand (offense and defense) that can play.
  14. No surprise here. The coach just couldn't get his team over the hump; and the AD obvisouly felt the team had a higher ceiling....where have I heard this before?
  15. Well, since we are hijacking the thread with useless details; this manufacturer's ambulances gross vehicle weight at 11,500 pounds. And if FFR is trying to get the bell on the track; why would he exagerate the weight higher? If anything he would round down.
  16. That must be why Flannigan isour offensive coordinator; since he spent 7 years at SMU. In spite of his "lack of formal training", I would be more than willing to take a chance on someone who wants to be UNT. Start him off as the running backs coach; and see where he goes.
  17. just tuned into the radio broadcast; under what conditions did Phillips come into the game?
  18. How does he have the hardest job in the conference, it wasn't like DD had to start the football program from scratch... DD has a tough job, as does every coach in the 'belt. I suspect that some of the other coaches in the belt would be very envious of what DD has to work with.
  19. In my estimation, it is not the youth on defense that has hurt us; but the lack of a push up the middle of the D-line. I think this problem will be the key to recruiting, or finding someone on this roster who can anchor the middle of the D-line. That will fix a lot of things.
  20. I wonderif that's what the Troy coach told his team before the beat Mizzou; or almost beat LSU? I see you point; but at some point it has to turn around. Will it be acceptable to get beat by SMU next year? No, probably not.
  21. Well, if noting else DD can use the football get out of jail free card and fire a coordinator. That usually buys a year or two. It also makes it a lot easier if a coordinator has "off the field issues."
  22. It was probably our old AD, Craig Heliwg.
  23. Christmas is still coming; I am going to ask for a big, nasty defensive tackle.....hopefully I've been good enough to get two.
  24. Was his reference to very poor judgement in regards to the halftime incident or his playcalling? (couldn't resist)
