  1. I think the problem was health, combined with a lack of depth across the defensive line.
  2. First: Todd Dodge has made it quite clear that he doesn't want to be a college coach right now. Second: Like it or nor; UNT has a coach. His name is Darrel Dickey. He has let UNT to 4 New Orleans Bowls in 5 years. He just had a down year, I suspect he is working diligently to right the ship. Soon he will be preparing for spring drills.
  3. If Joseph Miller can add a little weight; he could be a force in the middle.
  4. I think that the speed that Nwigwe brings to the Lb position will get him on the field early.
  5. 1. I would pencil Woody Wilson at the Qb position. 2. If Jamario still has the extra 25 pounds that hampered him last year; then the strenght/conditioning coach should be fired. 3. What happened to Brock Stickler? 4. I too think that Jackson will excel.
  6. I really want to buy SilverEagle a Ieans jersey.
  7. Until you go to Rivals and see him listed as a 3-star.
  8. Good thing this board didn't exist in the Matt Simon days; we'd have to put most of you on suicide watch.
  9. Even though he cannot sign a letter of intent until February, he has effectivally signed an agreement to accept financial aide from the university. This agreement to accept financial aide makes him a Longhorn. Talking to him after that would probably be considered recruitign a player from another school.
  10. That probably wouldn't be Mack brown or Greg David (UT OC). I read somewhere that Gruden commented that it looked like Simms hadn't gotten any coaching at all in college.
  11. I don't know what OU you are referring to, but the University of Oklahoma made dramatic improvements on the offensive side of the ball during the course of the year; in their O-line and at the Qb position. Bomar is figuring it out; and so is their offensive line. But they aren't on our 2006 schedule, so why's it matter?
  12. And just what position will Bush play in the NFL? Will he be a 200 pound running back? Will he be the first runnign back ever chosen who can only carry the ball 10 times per game? Will he be the first slot reciever ever chosen with the first pick? Mark my words, Reggie Bush is an excitign college player who will go down with the likes of Rocket Ismail and Peter Warrick: players whose games don't directly translate at the next level. I do agree with your assessment of next year: LSU and Ohio State will be scary good.
  13. I just can't figure out what the love-fest is with USC. USC is a very afluent private school, with barely the enrollment of TCU. Their college football supiority complex makes Texas fans look humble.
  14. To not physically threaten fans To not verbally attack fans
  15. Maybe your flux capacitor isn't producing the required 88.8 gigawatts.
  16. The quoted statement makes me question the validity and sanity in the rest of the post. Neuheisel would not come to Denton. And why would UNT want him? Does anyone remember that Colorado had problems before Barnett? And under who's watchful eye did they start; you guessed it: Nueheisel. I will take 2-9 football before I welcome a cheater to town. To quote Dr Pohl from the Spring of '01 (concernign hiring an honest AD)," I worked at UNLV, where the UNLV had set-up there west coast offices; and I don't want that kind of situation here." (paraphrasing)
  17. Its a shame that they are going to tear down the Stardust, the Casino where that was filmed (and I believe the casino that the film is based on).
  18. No, that was Ernie Simms.
  19. That would be Michael Pruitt. He had verballed to Kansas, and changed his mind to come to Denton. That definiton would also include the DE Gilmore, as he had verbaled to UTEP. To date, that would be Mr Ieans. We fought hard with Arizona to win his services.
  20. There are many canned phrases that people have used this year to vent their frustration with the 2005 season. I was mearly suggesting using one of these phrases (of which the prior post was one of) and posting it in one of the many inflammatory thread.
  21. Your mixing apples and oranges here. This is a recruiting thread. In this department, DD has done pretty well. He has found talented prospects in places other would not look, and stolen some talent from bigger schools. The part that is hard for fans is that his prospects aren't in the paper every Sunday publishing their committment. But they show up on signing day, don't they? I would suggest finding one of the many why didn't we win ___ in 2005, (or other random inflammatory thread), and publish your comment their; it would probably make more sense there.
  22. To be fair, when did Jamario show up as being interested in UNT (as he was one one of those lists)? Not 'til after the Banquet; when he orally committed. The Banquet has traditionally been our big recruiting weekend. Patience people, patience. And for those that don't know about recruiting, we are currenlty in a "dead period" where contact with recruits is restricted (prohibited I belive); so any list will probably de dated to before the quiet period.
  23. Reminds me that slow is a relative term.
  24. I took that to mean that they could help a team that only had two wins.
  25. One Observation: This is the second article in a row about UNT recruiting where some coach besides Dickey was the quoted coach. I am gonna hope he's out recruiting somewhere.
