  1. I think that means that they know they will be selling a lot of tickets. Everyone needs to prepare: the more success we have on the field, the more changes we will see in things like tickets. Someday a UNT student may actually have to pay to attend a UNT sproting event.
  2. Kind of like it was (along with other things) for the Cowboys in the early '90s.
  3. But the owner of this dealership is also listed as an offical OU financial sponsor.
  4. You are right. In and of itself this is nota violation. However, since Adrian Peterson got to "test-drive" a Lexus for 6 months, and now the Bomar thing....this cannot go over looked. However, the NCAA just re-instated the USC WR Jarret since he paid back the extra rent money (even though rent was $3,866/month, of which his part was 23,196 for the year. And since Matt Leinart's dad only charged him $650/month, Jarret should have had to pay back $15,396. Though somehow $5,000 makes it all better). I will take the NCAA seriously when they suspend a big time player or sanction a big time school (in a money sport, sanctioning OU women's gymnastics doesn't count).
  5. Why don't folks read what's on the board for a second before posting?
  6. I am thrilled by the fact that it was the Patriots who called. They are excelent talent evaluators, and don't seem to care where you came form; as long as you can play.
  7. If they renew your registration are you just gonna start threads about how your gay?
  8. Here's an idea: Harry and Co should place 5 (maybe more) subscriptions on ebay. Let the fans determine what fair market value is; and that would help raise money for the next bar-b-que/scholarship/football camp.
  9. Here's my perspective: Billy Lucci offers a similar service to Harry down at A&M. And I believe that costs $10/month (the MGR costs $40 per year). So from my perspective I am saving $6 per month. And I would much rather pay to read the analysis of a 3rd party individual rahter than reading the free published party line from the athletic department. Even though Harry (and Matt) is a fan, he tries to cut it pretty straight. I want to know what's going on, not the offical party line; and for that I am willing to pay.
  10. Then what about closing the university, bull dozing it, and scorching the earth where it once stood? Seems fair enough.
  11. What gets me is that this is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened. What do foreign hackers have against the Mean Green?
  12. If he agrees to pay back the money, the NCAA will probably let him off with a stern talking too. Here's my theory: he is looking for the best school possible that will take him, without offending OU (that way they will release him). OU hasn't said whether they will release him or not, as they want to see where he wants to go; to keep him out of the Big 12. And this way Bomar doesn't have to go to the ranks of II-A. Oh, and think about how much pub our 2007 season opener would get: Bomar returns to Norman And even if he sits out for a year, he would still have 2 years left of eligibility. Well, they will probably have some of those feelings if we (I don't know how) were able to recruit a Qb stud in the off-season.
  13. um, yeah. several thread on this. Pattersopn announced today that TCU wasn't interested.
  14. From what I have read on him, he will most likley move to safety at the college level.
  15. This donation If this is the one you are talking about, he presented the check during halftime of a basketball game, and many, many articles and stories were written about this. Another Link Another Link
  16. From eveything I understand, he was an academic liability that only qualified after signing with us. Now he wants to take his clearinghouse letter and "upgrade" schools? He should have to play by the NCAA rules, you pull this stunt and you have to go JUCO or sit out 2 years. I am pretty sure DD has forgiven him, as DD wished him the best of luck; however the kid should not be allowed to suit of for OU or OK St in the fall either.
  17. I am not exaclty sure why we didn't sign a full class, but it did work out for us to sign a really good kicker. After hearing what DD said about Patton (wanting to attend somewhere else); I am sickened. Not becuase DD or his staff failed, but because an 18 year old kid was offered a free education, and turned it down. I really hope that UNT does not release him, hopefully 2 years is long enough to learn a leson about keeping your word.
  18. Tech is a good example. Two of their 4-stars will not be showing up, and 2 of their 3-stars will not be showing up due to grades. As here is an update on their stud defensive lineman (4 star): Sophomore defensive lineman McKinner Dixon, who was reported to be in academic trouble, was not on the 105-man roster issued Sunday. Redshirt defensive end Rashad Hunt is academically ineligible. Yes, TT is a good example as it shows that this stuff happens everywhere. Our margin is just that much smaller than other schools.
  19. More proof that people don't read my posts.
  20. I have never seen a thread top 150,000 views, and I found this reading very interesting: Bomar info.
  21. I stand corrected, as he will be a redshirt freshman
  22. Just read this article on the new SMU Qb (from Denton Ryan). It looks like h ewill be starting as a true freshman. I really, really hope they do that. I don't care how good Ryan was last year; he will get eaten alive by teh change in the speed of play.
  23. Did anyone else go? ANy of the freshmen around? Anything to report?
  24. huh, everyone dogpiled me in the other thread for suggesting that Sun belt team would take on troubled players who would help them win. Guess their not above that.
