  1. From the blog:: Brett's father passed
  2. Vito's dad took at turn for the worse: link
  3. Kind of like our first NO Bowl appearance; when they laid clam to the Sunbelt title as well.
  4. I could only take away, from this debate, that JJ's team won as many games this year as they did during my entire undergradaute tenure (Trilli era). wow.
  5. I have read somewhere that the JUCO DE (Weber, I think) was a red shirt last year; due to his ankle injury. Is that right?
  6. Here is a rough time line: Superbowl on Sunday At that point my TV will go metro' from all the Winter Olympics, and American Idol. Just when you think you have reached the point of insanity, based on too much male figure skating; spring practice will begin. And life will be better again.
  7. I am stoked about the recruit Olen, as I think that will having a consistent field goal kicker will change play calling and the offensive mindset when we are inside the 25 yard line.
  8. That may be why he's moving to TE (being the best of a group that jsut wasnt very good) The meangreensports page says OL. Based on his athletisiscm, I would guess left tackle.
  9. The statistics between those two are very misleading, based on the number of snaps (and this disparity is why you used them). Dividing by the number of attempts is a nice way to compare two players who both started. But Tune's statistics have to be labeled as "incomplete" as there just isn't enough data there to make a comparison. And that is why you are posting this "analysis". Tune's stats being incomplete prevent any of us from being able to say that he couldn't win the starting job. This spring will be interesting. I think it will remind folks why Riley was one of the top atheltes in the nation out of HS, why he was a Parade All American; and why folks lined up to recruit him. So if Riley wins this competition; will you then post how Chico can't identify QB talent? Or will it be a triple-secret conspiracy based on language in his contract (written in invisible ink)?
  10. The thing to remember is that every program seems to be as good as their assistants. DD won here until schools like UCLA pulled away his assistants, and even the great USC has started suffering as schools hire away their coordinators. So I guess my opinion is that the athletic director should never skimp on what they can try to pay their assistant coaches. That group of personnel seems to be what separates the winers from the losers.
  11. yeah, but these JUCOS should alowsome of the other, younger DBs a chance to grow up
  12. Re-check Rivals. There were 3 3-star recruits last year. This year we have 5 signed, and one committed. That's 200% by my count.
  13. When your coach makes a career out of calling the fans/supports "m-f'ers"....you are probably gonna get cut less slack than a coach who doesn't offend (or whose coordinators verbally attack) the program's supporters.
  14. That is stuff that Cobbs did his entire tenure here. So leading the nation in rushing won't get Dunbar out of that duty. I would hazard a guess that a Heisman or Doak Walker award would probably get him a lighter workload.
  15. He's averaging 175 yards/game against Sunbelt oppoents. With 4 remaining, he could get real close to the 2,000 yard total for the season.
  16. Emmitt was one of the truly die hards who survived rooting for a Vic Trilli coached basketball team. I am pretty sure that he just wants UNT to win...its just that TD ain't doing that.
  17. His kick-off return average places him 9th in the league.
  18. Its the partnership with Underarmor.....makes it look more like the SLC fan board.....very high school-ish.
  19. In short, since the definition of a booster is very broad (and would include most everyone here): don't contact the recruit. Annotate any letter jacket or school markings and pass the info to Oldtimer; but dont go try to be an ambassador for the school. There are people for that, and they have been told the do's and dont's of recruiting.
  20. Didn't know this:
  21. Wasn't that fumble by Broderick McGrew?
  22. Has anyone who is out of the metroplex area figured out if the Ohio game will be carried on TV? Maybe some obscure, regional fox or espn?
  23. I hadn't heard this before: Good for Patrick.
  24. I have to think that Hamilton or Dunbar lined up in the inside WR slot should create lots of short passing / big gain oppurtunities.
  25. I am not sure, but I am going to go out on a limb and say NT class of '73. Which would be about 59 years old.
