  1. Well, first he has to get invited; something that has not been accomplished by UNT players lately. If Illuvious will weigh in, I think I remember him commenting (in previous posts) on conversations with scouts on JQ.
  2. That promotion is very similar to one in Chicago. Except that one went terribly wrong.
  3. WOW! Something seemed to have really gone on here. I will be interested to see if the NCAA will punish one of their darling children. How ironic, he interned at the company that was illegally courting him. That smells of Rhett Bomar and Big Red Imports to me. I really hope they rescind the Heisman. The star athletes at big schools have been getting away with practically anything lately.
  4. Does aynone remember the article from last year? It explained that Dodge and others from Southlake explained that they attended a coaching clinic at Middle Tennessee State. And Southlake adopted their offense; which works quite well at the high school level (using high school players that may have their own personnel trainer). Now I love me some Southlake Carrol Football; but Dodge has advantages that many high schools do not have. And he exploits them quite well. But this is not Electra HS, or Vernon HS. This is a HS situated in a very afluant area, that puts an emphasis on football. They are the UT of high school football.
  5. I learned about the ignore button today, very helpful.
  6. The really funny part is that Evangel is considered a D-1 factory. But somehow the Southlake coaches took a collection of players that may not have been as rated as high athletically and turned them into football players. Sounds very familiar. Where have I seen that before? Oh, I remember: thats what DD does most every year.
  7. Or, if he could walk on at one of 2 universities and one is at least twice as experience as the other; it makes the decision easier. It could have been what he could afford, since he was paying his own way.
  8. I have never understood exactly why the Denton FD hates anyone at UNT who has anything to do with fire protection.
  9. For a long time fans and UNT administrators, and those associated with the university acted as though it wasn't a big university. That has changed, but will take some time to change that image.
  10. And what about the Recruiting database? Will it roll over too? Or disappear forever?
  11. In my book Bennett will go down right next to Vic Trilli. After spending just five minutes with either of them, they would make you a true believer in their program. Could walk into a home, and come out with a committment...however just couldn't turn the talent into wins. I think both of them could be used better as recruiting coordinators, bird dogging potential donors, or PR guys for a program.
  12. That's what she said.
  13. More info from Northern Colorado:
  14. Are you kidding? They got beat in week one by Montann St, and got beat by Col St in week two. They are struggling bad.
  15. Quinn in man coverage...excellent It looks like the 3-3-5 provides blirtzing from different angles and different positions. That should exclude any statue-esque quarterbacks from playing. If I remember right, RF expained to Illuvious how the check-downs weren't being made. The point is: a superior atlete can be gamed planned against, whereas a total team effort is tough to stop. I am sure that Tulsa can find someone to spy on Woody, and stop him from improvising....however if Woody plays well as a complete Qb that will be tough to stop. (if you don't belive that, revisit the S. Miss gameplan to stop a superior athlete and force a team effort to beat them)
  16. That caught my attention, made me think," gonna have to tap the brakes a little." So I started thinking about defensive performances: 1. Bogger against UT (holding Benson to 54 yards and sacking Simms 7 times). 2. Booger against Baylor. 3. _____ (DB I can't remember) intercepting Cincy 4 times in the first half of the NO Bowl. Anybody got any ideas on the top 10 defensvie performances in the past 10 years? I am sure that that list would have to include Brad Kassel or Cody Spencer; but its still early.
  17. Its even cooler when its read by the SMU play-by-play guy (Rich Phillips).
  18. Excellent once again. It left me with a couple of questions: Does anyone have the story on the running back's remaining eligibility? Where did Victor Gill go (redshirt)? Has anyone spotted Willie Ransom lately (near a Qb maybe)?
  19. Thanks.
  20. In re-watching the game, did you see Charlie Brown? The participation report shows number 84 Charlie Borwn. Did Victor Gill play? I haven't herd him mentioned since Tune walked on.
  21. To Anyone - Has anyone experienced choppy video feed? I have DSL, but the video is very choppy. I have already updated all media payers and video cards. Its like it can't buffer enough. Any thoughts?
  22. The only thing standing in the way is the CUSA champion and the MAC champion. I really hope we win these two, but I realize they will be fights. If they are not fights, that's when I see a problem.
  23. I suspect that D wants Woody to tell the other Qbs that he is the outright starter. I also suspect that DD isn't officially closing the QB competition until he is sure that we didn't some flash in a pan; but adds consistency to the short list of accomplishments. And at this point, the list of accomplishments is short. Oh, and to be exact, DD just said he didn't know when the other Qbs would enter the game. That doesn't guarantee that either will enter the game, as the answer could be dictated by another good outing by Woody. I think this may be a case of over analyzing to see when the other shoe is going to fall.
  24. As I said in the during game chat: I really hope that DD suceeds, and makes some yall eat crow. That man can't win with some of you; he secures a bigtime win for the program and yall are trying to figure out how DD and RF didn't contribute to the win.
  25. There are hundreds of thousands of alumni, and over 30,000 actuive students. That's more than enough people to fill the remaining 6,000 seats; regardless of diploma.
