He had a monochromatic post today, it was kind of refreshing.

My overall though is that if Nix, Price and Dodge are just 2 of the candidates; we are gonna be in good shape.

In one of the articles that Harry posted, it mentions him being the assistant head coach. My only real concern about him is that he is at a SEC school, where football is king. I wonder how he will do in a more "adverse" environment. And I wonder where he'd get his assistant coaches from.

Could you have anymore of a knee-jerk reaction? I fully expect RV to find the best person for the job. If RV is able to convince a assistant head coach from a SEC school to come to UNT; isn't that a good thing? Do you follow recruiting? If so, then you realize that it's the assistant coaches that actually recruit. So then it would be the assistant coaches who would need the Texas ties.

My point is that coming in, we thought we had an offensive minded coach. Obviously you cannot tell what you have until some time later. Overall: DD did leave UNT better off than when he got here; and as such we should be able to really get some good candidates for this job.

No, we need a smart coach who knows how to utilize talent. Didn't you read the article FFR found on the offensive hot shot we brought in 9 years ago to replace Simon. Taking the heir apparent to Spurrier at South Carolina wouldn't be a bad thing. Nix doesn't appear to be some slouch from Southern Miss. He looks ready to be a head coach.

I wonder if at 6-6 will Bennet keep his job?

An ESPN Article talks about potential replacements for Coker. One of the candidates is their defensive coordinator. I would think that would be a major coup for FIU, snatching UM's defensive coordinator.

I think the important part of the firing is that now other, bigger named coaches are being fired. Pushing DD's firing out of the news. UNT can go on making positive news (football stadiums, donations, BB wins)

You may have hit on something. With DD being buddies with Bennet, I could see Bennet as one of the few head coaches who would take a chance on him right now.

I believe this is just the start of the stadium campaign. I don't think we will turn dirt until we have most (all) the funds raised for the stadium. 18 months is from when we start construction, whenever that will be.

Its not a lump sum, a previous article said he would be paid out in regular installments over the next two years. Then why did DD not take hold of the oppurtunity to beat the easier OOC scheduled games (Tulsa, FAU the first time, Troy in 2001, Akron, etc)? A DD coached team defated a BCS school. He beat TT. So what's the rest of the excuse?

One of the worst losses this year was at the hands of MTSU. I didn't realize MTSU was a money game this year. Oh, DD only wanted to focus on losses where he could try to find an excuse.

Its not the same. I am still looking for a high school stadium out here in California that holds 13,00 people; and is actually made of concrete (my wife showed some of her student athletes pictures of SLC facilites, and they couldn't believe it was for HS football). Todd Dodge is king of high school football in the greatest state for high school football.

My understanding is that he will be one of the top quarterback recruits in the state. Probably right next to Tre Newton, the SLC running back.
