  1. This is some great work by Vito. This article was a great example of investigative reporting, finding the stroy that hadn't broke yet.......or regurgitating whatever Harry posts in the morning and passing it off as a newspaper article.
  2. Then the athletic center should be a strong selling point, as it seems pretty top notch.
  3. I am impressed that someone who has a HC job thinks wanted to interview at UNT. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy about definitely upgrading and our outlook for the future.
  4. Spring Break
  5. Here's a little different perspective: Fisher has to know what football is like in Texas. The UNT job may be a "lesser job" right now; but has a substantially higher ceiling than his other suitors. He has to realize that he would be recruiting in the heart of Texas football, and would a demi-god in these parts if he could untap all the potential at UNT. One more thing: RV got him to campus. That means folks are really taking our job opening seriously. And I give RV very good odds once he has a guy on campus. Talking with RV really gets your blood excited about UNT football; and I think if anyone could talk a top SEC coordinator to coming to UNT it would be RV.
  6. It also mentions Deliberations about Gifts and Donations. Here's what the Texas Code says: So they are gonna have a closed door talk about a prospective donor. Per the agenda, this BOR meeting could: 1. approve the next football coach 2. Dismiss LJ 3. Approve the donation that funds the stadium WOW. Time to buy a lottery ticket.
  7. Okay people, please teel me how happy the SLC residents owuld be if Dodge were to admit talking to a potential employer during his team's playoff run? Pretty pissed off. Sometimes press releases are nothing more than disinformation. Its pretty obvious that the people tasked to write columns are in the dark as we are, but they still have a deadline to meet. Which sometimes means grasping at straws. I don't remember who stated that no one would be interested in this job, but that is definitely not the case.
  8. Technically we can't, as that's not the case anymore. What I find really odd (amusing) about this coaching situation is that usually one of the assistants is the front runner for the position (Patterson at TCU for example). I have not heard one word of Evans or RF talk for the positon (except in jest).
  9. I wouldn't say I "enjoy" it, at this point its a necessary evil. Thanks though.
  10. nah, Jamel Branch red-shirted the year he had grade troubles; and Cobbs red-shirted the year he banged up his knee and thumb.
  11. But Snead could red-shirt for the next year; and still have 3 to play.
  12. The author was obviously fishing, and indicates that no one has a clue what is happening.
  13. It also helps Dodge not lose face in SLC fans. You never want to alienate your current employer (in case you don't get the job you applied for).
  14. I could have swore that this article is from about a week and a half ago. I thought I remember reading the following in a previous article: The "Wednesday" reference makes me think this was from the week right after we liberated ourselves from DD:
  15. Adding a 2nd Sunbelt team will be hard this year. There are 29 teams in D1 who won't go to a bowl this year (Norm was talking about this the other day).
  16. Does anyone know if it will be televised?
  17. Dammit Grayeagle. That's not the point. He obviously wanted to point exclusively to the stadium, so that he could prove his very flimsy point.
  18. I wouldn't take that to mean they out-recruited us; but they definitely took that talent and coached it to a higher level.
  19. Did you ever meet his predecessor? Who had a 100% completion stat, only because he never started anything.
  20. Your right, some of the fieriest coaches can only manage to start altercations with fans.
  21. Wow, DD kept thousands of people in multiple states from attending Sunbelt games.
  22. Yeah, we had better get a petition together that reminds RV to hires the best coach for the job....oh wait...now that I said it out loud that does sound pretty silly. Its pretty funny. Anytime RV posts on here, everyone says he's doing a great job. But when your preference for our next coach isn't mentioned in an article; you imply that RV isn't sharp enough to perform the hiring duties associated with his job. I am sure that RV understands that his job performance will be tied to whomever he hires; so it is in his best interests to get it right. No, it'd be nice to see who applied for this job. This is just a little frustrating, because there has been a media blackout on what is happening and who's on the short list.
  23. I'd like to add Brock Stickler to the list.
  24. The part where you compared RV to Heliwg; that's where your post went south. Did you ever meet Helwig? Then you know that he's got nothing in common with Helwig.
