  1. You haven't told JQ that have you? Because I believe that's what some other schools told him, before he got to campus and worked his butt off. And now he has 4.4-4.5 speed (anchored the 100 meter team if I remember right).
  2. I was shocked that Fisher didn't end up at Alabama with Saban.
  3. That's what folks said about most our UNT's 2004 defense: Awasom (slow for a DE), Kennedy (undersized), Kassel (slow), Hurd (all of the above). Someone ought to email Chris Simms and ask him what he thought about about that defense (they sacked him 7 times). Gotta trust that our new HC knows what he's doing.
  4. Rivals has always shown a big school bias. This was proven, WRT to UNT, a couple of years ago when we were chasing a 3-star QB named Zac Taylor. Once signing with Nebraska, he "became" a 4-star QB. The year before that, Jamario Thomas lost points (lower rating) when he commited to UNT. Their logic being that if he came to UNT, then he must not be as good. Rivals sells subscriptions: to folks like me and you, and also to schools. It is in their best interest to ensure that the recruits of schools like UT are ranked highly. Go search Texags, some of their postes have studied hwo biased Rivals is.
  5. Seems yes, he will be with us. Harry addressed Gilmore in this thread.
  6. Give TD a little time. I feel quite confident that he will get the best players available. This recruiting class may not be the most representative of this coaching staff's efforts due to the short length of time. Also remember that almost all of last year's class red-shirted.
  7. Does anyone know if the strength/conditioning coach was kept around?
  8. Then he should have committed to OU or USC, they pay pretty well.
  9. And it looks like Newton will be a very, very coveted recruit. Getting him will be a coup.
  10. Everyone needs to start praying that they officially convert Roy Williams to a linebacker....so that we can draft a safety who can cover. And why does Flozell have a penalty in every game?
  11. Good point. And remember that TD is a teacher of the game first. He will probably use more coaches, as he wants more instructional time with the players (teacher to student ratio). I think Peterson was brought here as a recruiter, may be the new recruiting coordinator.
  12. Teaching. I like this already.
  13. Yeah, that's what was always wrong with Tom Landry. I don't think outward emotion is what maes a coach good or bad.
  14. Can someone explain how TD's offense will get installed? During some off-season meetings; and then practiced during 7-on-7 drills? Or do we have to wait until spring ball to install the new offense?
  15. They (UNT administration) gave alumni and students a 7 day window to "vote" before the official announcement was made. They actually gave the alums the middle finger on the whole deal. Ask FFR. I will see if I can find the scanned images of the documents UNT turned over. It illustrates how much of a sham this whole thing was.
  16. I wouldn't call Tre Newton a scatback. And I don't think that TD would pass on utilizing a national rushing champ. I think that Jamario could have a really big year.
  17. I say the D-lineman Gilmore. Yeah, I know he played 2 years ago...hopefully he used this year to get his grades in order. He could be a monster at the OLB position.
  18. It is really impressive to see the other high school coaches heap praise on TD (even the ones that get pasted by him). This should buy us a lot of recruiting credibility immediately.
  19. This thread got turned into a study on the shades of green.
  20. Huddle or No-Huddle isn't what causes delay of game penalties. The penalties are caused when the Qb looks over for the play, and the OC is too busy yelling at a fan or trying to choke another coach.
  21. Or the Dwayne Jarret thing? Or the steroid using safety who quit the team? This all will eventually catchup to Pete Carroll.
  22. The NCAA will do nothing to OU, as Stoops can claim he took care of the situation by dismissing Bomar. If the NCAA hasn't sanctioned that dirty, cheating USC program; then OU has nothing to fear.
  23. Being a P-1, that would be one of the things I would fear most in this world. Grandpa Urine can stay where's he's at.
  24. That's what they said about Norm Hitzges. How'd that ever turn out?
  25. DALLAS -- A boys high school basketball game between rival Dallas schools was suspended after an arena-clearing brawl. Play was suspended Friday with 5:04 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Carter-Kimball game when fights broke out in the concourse of Ellis Davis Field House. Dallas SWAT and operation disruption units, along with Dallas school district security, tried to contain the situation. Pepper spray was used. "The fight started inside, and it got bigger and bigger and went outside," Dallas police Sgt. Gil Cerda said. "It got pretty big and out of control." The game ended with Carter ahead, 60-57. The teams were tied, 34-34, at the half, and Carter led by 1 entering the fourth quarter. Police said there were no serious injuries. Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press
