  1. Its not about SMU giving them money, its about the fact that Rivals sells subscriptions (to schools and fans). Just as people have learned that the world is round, they have also learned that Rivals increases a athlete's rating based on who is recruiting them. The season ended 2 months ago, what else have their recruits done to up their stock? None of them played in the Army Bowl.
  2. That would have to mean that someone is being offered a grey-shirt situation, or preferred walk-on status. 'cuz I think that would put us at 21, right?
  3. The #9 kicker out of high school last year is already on the roster (Steve Woodward). And we have something like 35 lineman on scholarship. If any more lineman come under scholarship, the food bill could bankrupt the athletic department.
  4. Its not stealth, I think they thought most of us would know who he is (at least I did). I will give you a hint: he has something athletic named after him. (have fun with that)
  5. I don't know if it means anything, but rivals doesn't show any of the the other schools wanting him (both Baylor and Michigan are gone). It only show UNT now.
  6. A pretty nice problem to have to figure out, huh?
  7. My first football event was a 'spring' game. It ended in a tie. We commented that even UNt couldn't muster a win even when UNT was playing itself. Those were the days of the Big West (and Vic Trilli's afro).
  8. I think the large suite in the student Union would hold upwards of 500 people.
  9. That's one of the few things that make living in Ca tolerable: podcasts that are posted midnight CST still show up before I go to bed.
  10. The headline.
  11. I am pretty sure that is Manley could avoid going to classes for 18 years plus 4 more at OU, he could have avoided some classes at UNT. At some point its not the institution, its the person. What HS did Manley go to? Do they not teach their football players to read?
  12. I would think he wold be the first name on the list of "who's gonna redshirt." Give him a full year to bulk up.
  13. Mitch Mustain received the original email and forward the contents to his mother (Beck Campbell). After the email got forwarded to others by his mother (NOTE: one of the names on the forwarding list was Zack Pianalto, a TE Arkansas was recruiting, another Springdale HS kid and now a North Carolina commit), there was a followup reply sent to Wally Hall at Arkansas Online (this was posted on an Arkansas board): [oh, Teresa Prewett [ the sender] is a close friend of the Nutt family, especially Danny Nutt (the Hogs' RB coach). She was his PT several years ago when he was recovering from surgery and calls him her "miracle man". She apparently had sideline passes to Arkansas games last season (including the bowl game AFTER the coaches knew she had sent this email).]
  14. So Dr B. is cleaning house, and takes the time out of her day to meet potential recruits (after she hires TD). Is there anyone still questioning that hire?
  15. Yes, Jamario was ranked as a state top 100 player. He was also considered the second best RB prospect in Texas that year (behind Adrian Peterson).
  16. I think indicating that his previous employer tried to kill him is a new low, even by DD's standards. I would think that since Oldtimer posted this here, he was trying to inform. Just wait 'til this hits the main board. 2100 posters will get pissed off all over again.
  17. Actually, a previous post by Willis indicates that the top 40 of the DMN list is taken directly form the Rivals list (no room for consultation). Willis "consults" on slots 41-100.
  18. Check out the roster. There are lots of offensive lineman on the current roster. And lots of them are young. Its just that before they didn't have a good scheme, or an OC to help them out.
  19. That would be the same illustrious list that Youri Yenga was moved onto after he commited to SMU. What did he accomplish after the season to warrant this? His play in the Army All Star game, no wait; he didn't play in that one. These lists are very subjective. Keep that in mind.
  20. His posts have helped me discover the "block poster" button. It helps.
  21. I find it odd that the people say he should have been retained for his recruiting skills, especially in the DFW area, when UNT got killed so badly when that was his job responsibility. how could he have been so mediocre at this task while at UNT, but such a critical loss when he wasn't retained? I'm just confused.
  22. Because there's only one assistant left at SLC, all the others now work at UNT.
  23. Check here. It looks like Western Kentucky will be on the schedule also.
