  1. And the TV exposure. Its real easy to tell a recruit's family that they can see him play on ESPN (or the deuce). Big Win for us.
  2. That's a good point. Hell, 2 games ago the DRC just mailed it in and used an AP story instead of covering the local team. And the term is "Low Observable".
  3. Yes. Its a little late for tonight; but I would love to organize something for the OU game (I heard its on the Deuce).
  4. thanks, looks awesome. I hope to be able to request another one made with the NO Bowl added (and the 8 Ws)...but that'll be later.
  5. A lot of that debt could be attributed to the building of a 100,000 seat stadium...which in this case would already be paid for as part of Jerry World.
  6. Jerry thinks bigger than 8 home games and a Superbowl. I fully believe that Jerry World would have brought the Olympics to Dallas proper. As it stands now, an Olympic bid will be a DFW bid, spread out all over the place. If the Olympics didn't cross Laura Miller's mind, then she wasn't thinking big picture enough. Besides banning smoking, can anyone name something possible that she has accomplished since being in office?
  7. In a postion to catch a lot of passes and single-handedly kill the spirit of teams (like what Mills did to us)?
  8. If I remember correclty, one of the reasons that the bond issue wasn't placed on the ballot for a vote was becuase the County Judges (and other local elected officials) didn't want to tempt fate by bringing voters to the polls. Miller dropped the ball on this one, but so did many, many others within the Dallas city government. Just proves that Dallas really does have a "Can't Do" attitude.
  9. Wasn't that the arugment about McCoy? That he was only a 3-star recruit, and would be a nice back-up to Snead......how'd that end up again?
  10. I would suggest that is a combination of playing in the Sunbelt, and playing in a DD system. You can play in the 'belt and make it in the NFL (Demarcus Ware), but you have to be able to show how you performed against the top talent (OOC games). DD's OOC philosophy didn't do much to showcase his top talent. That should all change now.
  11. Did you read his question? He made an observation that TD prepares his quarterbacks by having them play receiver. The last several at SLC have all done that. He is asking if T will continue that practice at UNT. Pretty good observation on his part.
  12. Maybe SMU will burn down their campus in protest.
  13. That was the case during the Helwig years, as I have seen those financial reports (to the tune of around 1.5 million/yr). If we have a surplus nowadays, thats another testimony to the work RV has done.
  14. UT already promised Kinne that they would pursue no more quarterbacks in this class (I read that in a Rivals article). So that means that UT must be recruiting Dodge as an athlete or WR. For those of us who thought Spencer Stack would bring us to the promised land remember: you can never have too many talented quarterbacks.
  15. I suspect that even with a record like 7-5, our only option would be the NO. Now in years after that, I think that TD will be able to elevate UNT football where we could get a more attractive bowl berth.
  16. Wouldn't Sinbad fall in the same boat? He was already at school, and walked onto Coach Genero's squad.
  17. I think I finally figured out the philosophy behind stealth recruiting. DD was saving UNT fans from themselves. If this is the reaction when one UNT recruit takes a recruiting trip, some of yall may end up with some serious drinking disorders (yes, worse you already have).
  18. Your sig line is "In Todd We Trust." Your last post would seem to indicate otherwise.
  19. I am not questioning the broadcast team chemistry, I think they do a great job. My quesiton revolves around the time spent traveling to games, and time spent boradcasting. As a Senior Asst. AD, should his time be devoted to fundraising? And how can he wine and dine potential donors during athletic events if he is doing color commentary?
  20. So the UNT HC will be attending UT's Junior Day....that's funny. Maybe TD will do some recruiting at Mack's event.
  21. Yes it is odd. If his primary function is to be fund raising, then he shouldn't have enough time in the day to do color commentary for football and half the bball season. Unless he's already got that whole stadium fundraising thing in the bag.
  22. Wow, that's some sports give-up. I would like them to offer him as a quarterback, so that when TD decides to make his in-home visit with Riley; the victory will be that much sweeter. It is time for UNT football to finally fulfill its potential. And I for one want to take no prisoneers.
  23. Something to keep in mind is that all 6 mentioned above have Div-1 bodies. Not all of the recruits coming will be able to say that. You can't catch the ball if you get jammed at the line of scrimmage. The players on the roster have the advantage of having been in a college weight program.
  24. Are you serious? That's the kind of mentality that the former regime had. I am willing to bet that TD is smart enough to evaluate all the talent that he has under scholarship. [note to self: locate "block poster" button]
