We have the student fee, which is planned to cover the $80M stadium obligation. (Right now) it can't be used for any other purposes. We have Apogee Money that can be used at the AD's discretion. Also, I suspect that as of today we only have $1M from Apogee. I doubt that wrote the full check today. Probably just paid for year 1.

Yall are confusing leaving UNT early with academic performance. But it's not. I don't believe that UNT offers a degree where he could land a guaranteed multi-million dollar contract. Economics, plain and simple. If UNT can help him improve his draft stock; then he will stay longer (still economics). Once he hits the point of diminishing returns (by staying); then he will leave. Still economics.

So today's DRC Blog Entry discuses college football's newest award: the Pony Express Award. It is advertised as "The award will be given out once a year to a set of two of three teammates a panel picks as the best in college football." I woud like to turn this into an off-season game: In real honor of the original Pony Express, use this thread to nominate those two or three teammates who have thoroughly abused the rules of college football (in particular those rules regarding gifts and payments to student athletes). I will go first: Terrelle Pryor and Daniel Herron; for accepting tattoos in exchange for signed jerseys. This tandem has gone above and beyond in their effort to disgrace their unuiversity; so much so that their got an early retirement oppurtunity.

That was part of the plan last time, until the university only sent the RFP to one firm; and sole sourced the effort (under a real flimsy sole source justification). That is why I how this one is managed better, by those capable, and not micro-managed by the Chancellor.

Lets tap the brakes a little. TD was able too win some battles against Kentucky and some other competitive schools. TD and company managed to mis-handle that talent and failed to coach up the rest. Also, there is a very thin line between late bloomer and a project. Very few were happy with the scholarship offer to Apunku; a late bloomer. All academic until we see results that this staff can coach up the talent they recruit...which is wins

It was my understanding that the program needed to be moving forward headed into the new stadium. If what you say is true (and I think it is); then TD should have been fired last year so that the new coach could get his system (coaches and players) into the system to start winning in a new stadium. Headed into a new stadium to continue losing will be unacceptable.

I have a couple of recruiting questions: Why are you listing 7 commitments? I thought Wright was still un-committed? Whatever happened to the tight end Power? How many scholarships do we have to give in this class, the full 25? Thanks I'll hang up and listen...
