  1. The over/under at 56? Vizza can do that in 2 quarters. Remember, always take the over while betting on Dodgeball.
  2. Even worse, they harbor terrorists. Nothing worse than a school that support Al-Quada (except SMU).
  3. Jerry has done some things; but don't blame him because Laura Miller is an idiot. He offered to finance 50% of renovating that pit known affectionately as Fair Park. And the City of Dallas told him to pound sand....and now they want to spend 50 million on fixing up the Cotton Bowl.
  4. Not the ones that USC uses.
  5. Your handle is GoMeanGreen1999. I shall assume, for the purposes of this post, that indicates you graduated in 1999. If so, then how in the hell did you make it through your undergraduate career? The mate '90's were some of the worst football I have seen. Some of those Big West games don't hold a flame to this because: * I now live in California, and watched this game on the internet. The AD has really gotten the athletic presentation aspect of this thing together. * 26,000+ plus fans jammed into Fouts to watch this game. I have seen UNT teams with similar records not draw 1,500. * I saw a UNT quarterback throw the ball more than 20 times in the first half. I have seen previous UNT teams not throw that many times during multiple games. Now, this is a re-building process. that's what happen when coaches mail-in recruiting (that's why they get fired). Re-building is not a joke. Its the future of the program. There are some obvious holes in the plan (like parts of the defense); but all-in-all things look pretty bright. So my question is, if the 2007 team is a joke to you; what adjective/adverb did you use to describe the teams that you watched while you were a student? What did you use to describe the last 2 DD fielded teams (when he refused to change his approach, in light of the need for change)?
  6. And it may be 4 if the "Leach to UCLA" rumor comes true.
  7. Probably because he's rated at 3-stars; even with his commitment to UT.
  8. Yeah, I went to a game a couple of years ago to a game where the fans didn't even show up until midway throught the first quarter. The never stood and yelled; and some even left early...I even hear they have mostly band-wagon type fans.....I just don't think that Dallas Cowboys organization will ever amount to much; and surely is incapable to ever winning a championship.
  9. To quote Barry Switzer, there is one thing you can't coach and that's speed. And this team doesn't seem to have aq lot of it; especially on the defensive side of the ball. That is obviously why Robertson, and now Penson, are getting more playing time. TD had to insert speed somewhere/somehow. Condition them all you want; they aren't going to get appreciably faster.
  10. We have missed extra point this this year; so what is your idea of a chip shot? It has to be shorter than an extra point. Knowing all that, what would you call field goal range?
  11. He will just be a midterm signee. There is a signing period for these kids. He will be offered a scholarship at that point. Accepting financial aide will count as the same thing as if he had signed a letter of commitment in February. He will not have to pay his own way for that first semester. This is no different that when DD would bring in a JUCO guy at midterm. That is how we got that All American JUCO lineman (who never cracked the roster and then quit).
  12. I after seeing Robertson, I am now of the camp that thinks Tomlin we remain a LB; for his speed.
  13. Third time this was posted today.
  14. Bennet will be gone. I would wonder how much of a head coach they can fire for $500,000 (from coaching hot seat) I am not sure if some of those names can be had for $500k.
  15. I don't have the stat in front of me, but check the penalties. All of a sudden, we are not giving up 110 yards/gm in penalties.
  16. When I saw Tomlin's highlight clips, I thought he had safety written all over him. But thinkng about it, I could see him at LB. As that's how you get faster, put fast safeties at LB, and then move bigger LBs to DE. UT is notorious for that. Point is, I could see Tomlin ending up at LB, to add more speed to that position. Just saw this in the DRC article. Thought it was worth posting.
  17. The FAU numbers are disapointing, considering the success that they are having. Winning games, and making valiant challenges in their losses.
  18. And I would say at this point TD and company have probably identified any holes on the defense; and have applied a sense of realism to all their scholarship offers.
  19. Yup. If I remember right, TAMU got their hand slapped when Martellus Bennet led a cheer at a men's BB game whileon a recruiting visit.
  20. Here's my take: they aren't out to set offensive records. But TD has a set of metrics that he uses to track performance. If the team achieves those things, then the team should be on track for a win.
  21. I would suggest that is sideline to sideline speed (or lack thereof) at the linebacking position.
  22. TD is a gambler. I thoguht the 2-pt conversion made perfect sense as we had just gone for every 4th down conversion laid before us. TD coaches a riskier game thatn DD did. It's his nature. These calculated risks will win us some games; but they also may lose some games. I am confortable with those odds, as for the first time in a long time we are playing to win.
  23. In recent history, I would suggest maybe one of Trilli's heralded recruiting class (Chris Davis, Kenneth Mangrum, Jason Miller, Reginald Erskine, Dexter Tennell). That class was ranked #21 in the country. The unfortunate part is that class later led to different Big XII schools to the Sweet 16 (Miller at Okie Lite, and another went to UT, Erskine I think)
  24. I can only guess that this article was written after a conversation between Vtio and someone employed in the athletic department (and good for them). And with that beign said, the athletic department, Talons and any other group under the pervue of the university should be out in droves drumming up support for this game.
  25. Ding, Ding Ding. Oh, I have found myself starting to watch the game a little more differently after listening to your podcast. Cool stuff.
