  1. Well, if you use Rivals as gospel; we lost a 5.2 and gained a 5.4. Which got me to looking. Of the 2-star recruits; most of them are rated at a 5.4. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of this recruiting season pans out.
  2. Ok, so its down to us and Kentucky for Hamilton. And he is leaning towards UNT! Recruiting season is gonna get pretty exciting.
  3. They funded a feasability study. This is the pre-cursor to the engineering design effort. The video and pictures that you saw were just design concepts. What has to happen now is for some engineers to sit down and do the detailed design of the stadium (how much concrete, what kind of steel, how many toilets and light fixtures). Once the detailed design is complete, the University will go have some construction firms quote how much it will cost to build the stadium per the blue prints.
  4. Having the design done will also provide a way to get a better estimate of what the costs will be. Construction firms will have something more detailed with which to estimate construction costs
  5. Yeah, they'd have to line McFadden up at Qb so that they'd have a Qb who can throw a spiral. He might want to work on that "detail" (the forward pass) if he doesn't want to be the next Eric Crouch.
  6. It is easy to agruge the "Dodge was a mistake" argument; as college coaches are never evaluate on their first year's successes. They typically aren't graded real hard until their kids are true or red-shirt seniors. So to begin that argument now show's UNT_Playmaker's lack of patience and general football knowledge. His comments are also evalute (by the other posters) along with the other dribble that he posts. If somoene traditionally plays the part od the internet troll; how do you know when they want to post something meaningful?
  7. Revenue is profit minus costs incurred. Yes there would have been BCS profit, but there would also have been substantial increases in travel costs. Not just for football, but for all sports. The WAC is probably a nice short term solution, but it is not the long term answer.
  8. So you have only been a fan of UNT for four years then, right? Because all the other ones lately have been bad, some worse than this. Yes, I said worse than this, because as bad as this season was; there are some highpoints that we can build on for next season. Was it in DD's first or second season that we won our conference? No, it will take time. So give TD a little respect by showing him some patience.
  9. I think the part of the Drill Sargent approach that may have failed Mendoza is that DD was never a disciplinarian. I am sure it has been a culture shock for every kid on the roster that played for DD. This staff is holding them accountable for their actions on the field, and in the classroom. Major change in philosophy. Doesn't mean its a bad approach, just way different.
  10. I don't find it as hard as I used to. The late '90's were pretty hard. Those were pretty bad times. At least now we know that times will get better. More fans showed up this year than have showed up in a long time, we have the 16th ranked passing offense, and the future looks very bright. Things are gonna get very good, very soon.
  11. http://www.kntu.unt.edu/
  12. Yeah, and i have re-opened the media browser several times. I think that listening to Dunham is better than listening to those 2 FIU a$$hats.
  13. These announcers don't turn off their mikes....ever. I just listened to how they are gonna go get hammered after the game. And one of the announcers picked UNT to win 56-14.
  14. He was recruited as a Safety, not a cover corner. And his 4.6 speed puts him slightly faster than Jonas Buckles. And I would argue that Jonas had enough speed to play that position pretty well.
  15. Besides the ofice pool didn't he start Colorado along its pathy to NCAA violation infamy? I believe he also had some recruiting violations. Can't seem to remember.
  16. The posts on that board has some factual inaccruacies (as have been pointed out in this thread). However, the stereotypes / urban legends come from somewhere. And I think quite a bit has come form UNT itself. And it is going to take some time, or some rapid sucess, to change the mindsets of quite a lot of people (commuter school, comitment to athletics, etc). And before yall jump all over me and say that RV and TD are comitted to turning this thing around; there are still many other holes in the comitment of UNT (students and alumni). I shall post the following example: Size Rank School Endowment 1 UT 5.54 Billion 2 TAMU 5.56 Bilion 3 Houston 455 Million 4 UNT 62 Million Which of these things is not like the others? We still have a long way to go.
  17. That second end spot combo fo Rexrode / Owosu Hemeng bothers me. I really hope that Russo has added some bulk and will be ready to contribute.
  18. The other thing to keep in mind is that the wide outs this year have been really healthy. All that going across the middle and everyone has been able to stay healthy.
  19. With my sentiment towards SMU, I here's to hoping that they keep Doherty forever...or until they become competitive at the 5A level.
  20. You might want to take time to design it. No, not the artistic rendering of the exterior. I am talking about the hundreds of drawings that illustrate where every light switch, toilet and ceiling fan in the stadium go. And that takes time....and can only take place after the initial concept is firmed up.
  21. Can an offense get more vanilla than Navy (excluding Notre Dame and all there sideways passes)?
  22. They played in a very un-disciplined way, but they did have that swagger. The one Booger used infect the team with; the one that says they are about to line up across from you and whip your ass.
  23. So maybe we should pitch in and buy the cheerleading squad some trashcans.
  24. To play a team coached by a knuckle headed coach whose teams traditionally don't show up on gameday? yeah, I'll take that series. Fran is a great recruiter, and without Gary Patterson and LT, nothing more.
