Hopefully the upgraded secondary and upgraded D-ends will take some pressure off the D-Tackles (in being in more one-on-one situations). Either Gilmore or Horton should routinely draw a double team. And that should take some pressure off the nose tackle. And hopefull the new secondary players (in Deloach's system) will be able to cover for a moment or two longer...giving the front 4 more time to get to the quarterback.

I think that is an often overlooked fact. I believe that is why the endowment of the third largest university in Texas could buy the stadium we all want to see. yup, that's right. RV is trying to raise more money than the entire university's endowment. UNT sports didn't have direction for quite some time. No one thinking big picture. Well, that same lack of direction and big picture was evident in the entire university. And that's a much bigger cultural problem to fix than just the athletics. But; I am optimistic. for the first time in a long time, we have more than one piece of the puzzle in place. We have a great head football coach, a men's b-ball coach that turned around Trilli's mess. And we are turning around the mess that was facilities. I really think that RV and company have the momentum turned in the right direction. And its about to get cool because the next step is when its starts to gain momentum.

If that original guy was right, we are still due for one more departure.

If I remember right, Banks had to go to a JUCO to try to get his grades in order. that would tell me that he either missed last spring's drills, or the summer workouts (when this offense was installed). And tat would make it real hard to be a contributor, especially on the O-line. Part of this is the effect of DD recruiting: typically his most talented recruits were academics risks.

I believe that Vizza had 19 interceptions last year. Learning the nuances is how that number comes down, and the touchdown numbers go up. Learning the nuances will also be what turns the running game into a consistent weapon. The fact that nobody really noticed that show show bad the offense was during the DD run.

I would love to bring Trilli back in some kind of recruiting coordinator role, or to fill the position of stadium fund raising coordinator.
