  1. Sean Bass is worse than Hitler...hey, someone had to Godwin this thing.
  2. Did anyone see the HBO movie Taking Chance, with Kevin Bacon, tonight? It is based on a Marine Lt. Colonel's journal of his escort duty, taking the body of a young PFC home to his burial in Wyoming. I have been wanting to see it since the preview made me tear up (the scene where the Northwest Airlines ground crew stop what they're doing to pay respect as the body is loaded hit me hard having been a part of that kind of moment on several somber occasions at DFW when the war first began)...and the movie itself ripped me to shreds emotionally. After it was over, I sat there on the couch, just stunned with tears in my eyes. Absolutely incredible movie. Well done, non-political, almost completely true to the original journal. No matter your politics, your thoughts on whether or not we should be over there, whatever...you really should take the hour and fifteen minutes to sit down and watch this movie. If anything, it honors those who have sacrificed... The Original Journal The HBO Promo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehWAxdLSoQM
  3. I said it years ago, I'll say it again: The quicker Mandy McKinley is no longer employed by the UNT Athletics Department, the quicker we will see progress in the area of fundraising. She has done more damage to the program than good.
  4. Leaving the Las Vegas airport last week...I noticed that UNLV are already promoting their spring game, home opener, and season tickets on their big jumbotron-esque electronic billboard outside The Thomas & Mack Center. Quite honestly, it pissed me off that I already know more about UNLV's spring game than I do about NT's.
  5. Chris Knighton...I love this music. Oh, KnightON. Nevermind. Great things are, indeed, happening for those who decommit!
  6. And we wonder why we can't recruit to save our lives. I blame Brett Vito!
  7. You're one syllable off from having a haiku there.
  8. Please don't do this. When we were voting for the Athlon Sports Cheerleader...I seem to remember another school doing something similar and having their votes voided. I don't think you have to vote for every position...just click the Special Teams tab...then the Special Teamers tab. I voted 10 times in a few min.
  9. To quote one of my best friends in the world...who is a flaming homosexual flight attendant... "to those who think this is a choice...why the hell would anyone voluntarily put themselves through the bullshit the gays put up with?"
  10. I'll assume this was intended for me... I'm just having a little fun. I've just been in an incredibly foul mood for weeks for a myriad of reasons. If I'm embarrassing myself, so be it. If I'm embarrassing the rest of you, even better. FireHelmetJesus is the only one I'm really taking it out on with any legitimacy or real malice, primarily because he's little more than a blowhard who can get away with murder. I'm just voicing what many are thinking in that regard. As far as "taking it up with the board leaders", that really doesn't get anything done.
  11. Yes, that's it, Emmitt's a racist...moron. Obviously, if you knew Emmitt beyond this message board, you wouldn't be posting this. I'm really starting to think a trip back to high school English class may be in order for you...so you can learn about things like "context", "irony", and "basic comprehension". Oh, and CBL...that...was...classic.
  12. Bush's handling of 9/11 was nothing short of spectacular. Those days following those events, Bush really had his stuff together. However, when the focus of the war went to Iraq...it was all downhill from there. Someone posted that he never stood up for himself...I agree with this. I think he could have been great if he didn't let certain people (Rove and Cheney, specifically) so blatantly make decisions for him.
  13. It's OK...I'm too busy consoling myself with a pill bottle to notice (may you never know the pain of addiction...of course, I expect that from the typical evangelical Christian when you're open and honest about your life and refuse to live a lie). Also, now that I'm down from my cross, hopefully it can find a second life in FireHelmetJesus' back yard for his monthly "white tie sheet costume party". Fortunately, because of his occupation I'm sure he knows how not to let the fire spread once it hits the lawn.
  14. You guys have some serious reading comprehension issues this time around. Being a complete asshole towards most of you is just too damn fun to stay away from. Sorry to disappoint.
  15. Dearest Rudy and FireHelmetJesus... Please, allow me to share something that was sarcastically shared with me by a conservative moron not unlike yourselves when George W. Bush won the 2004 election. http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/citizenship/index.asp Maple syrup not your cup of tea? Here ya go... http://www.citizenship.gov.au/
  16. Raptor Jesus? OR Jesus with a Raptor? /shamelessly hotlinked //What about FireHelmetJesus?
  17. I retract...I misread the posts (was in a rush at work).
  18. If they, indeed, went straight home...am I the only one somewhat bothered by this?
  19. But, but, but...you can't trust the New York Times! They're the mainstream media! Fox News is the only trustworthy news source! Fair and balanced! /sarcasm
  20. You had the right one. For future reference, the team almost always charters with Southwest...and SWA uses 8000-series flight numbers for their charter operations (as does most other U.S. carriers). It makes it a little easier to find what you are looking for.
  21. This. If we lost this game, Dodge should have been fired on the spot. In case you missed the memo, our team still sucks. No need to start fellating the ol' ball coach just yet. I'm happy to hear that the team looked like they had a fire and passion...where the hell has it been all season?
  22. Why delay the inevitable? Retards + Internet = Turning any innocent discussion into a thread filled with snide remarks towards one's political, religious, or ideological affiliations.
  23. I'm aware of it's entertainment value...I was laughing when I wrote it.
