  1. Just an idea from an outsider.... Rather than getting to choose your team...what if you were to draw your team from a hat or selecting at random at the team select screen?
  2. I could do without....
  3. May Basketball Jesus save your soul in time...
  4. Please remember I'm a big Cuban fan here...but, let's say Shaq winds up with the Mavs. Will Cuban end his crusade against Ed Rush and bad officiating?
  5. Ever since the first time I heard his version on the movie "The Sandlot" (one of the great sports movies of our time)...it gives me chills every time I hear it. I played it this morning on KPFC during the breakfast hour at Camp Sweeney and everyone was singing along...it was really cool.
  6. Agreed....Eric Johnson is amazing. I wish I could hunt down a copy of that ACL...sounds awesome.
  7. Though I think Pat's current status as a "sellout" with many of his original fanbase isn't all his fault, he's not doing much to curb those feelings. My last straw, though, is his "The Dancehall: Exclusive Online Fan Club" on his website makes me think we've lost him forever. Basically, it's 30 bucks a year for a the chance to get in on some pre-sale tickets and an occasional website update. So here I am...a guy that used to follow Pat around the state...I've seen the guy 47 times. And in 47 shows, I saw it progressively worse. I understand why you would want to make yourself as successful as possible in your profession and I don't fault him for that. However, you have to balance the success with not alienating your core fanbase...and I think he's indirectly destroyed what remained of his original fans. Tack all of that on to the fact that it pisses alot of us off when you ask someone "Do you like Texas Music?" and they reply "Oooo, I love Pat Green." There's so much more to Texas Music that they don't see...and I almost feel like he's a burden on the genre. Folks like Jack Ingram, Norah Jones, Eisley, Mur, Jerry Jeff, Townes (God rest his beautiful soul), and of course, Willie...people who are doing it their own way and not completely selling their soul for the Almighty Dollar...THAT'S the epitome of Texas Music. Pierow, you're right, he does have a great band that deserves some support...JonDan and drummer Justin Pollard are two incredibly talented musicians that I will continue to support should they move on to do their own projects. But, I'm done with Pat. I'll continue to listen to his pre-"Wave On Wave" stuff with fond memories...and I will support his next disc only because it will be supporting Jack Ingram (Jack tells me that his song "One Thing" is going to be covered by Pat). Sorry for the rant...but that's a subject that is near and dear to my heart since Pat's music played a large part in the path I chose to direct my life down. Fortunately, I had someone like Jack Ingram come along and open my eyes to the rest of the great music that is out there.
  8. I LOVE this program. The home games are a blast and a half...
  9. While you're damning Clear Channel...remember that KZPS is another Clear Channel station. If you like 92.5, listen to 93.3 The Bone. Susquehannah Radio is so much more listner friendly...and doesn't spend all their time "building hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place".
  10. Mur at Doublewide June 12th, eh? I think I just may have to go....
  11. I know...I just made the decision a few months ago to say "Jonathan Ieans is the answer" whenever these stupid Hall vs. Smith threads start.
  12. Jonathan Ieans is the answer to the Scott vs. Andrew situation.
  13. Ahhh, Todd Van Poppel...I remember back when I used his Topps Future Stars baseball card to con a kickass Nolan Ryan card outta my little brother.
  14. From what I've heard...the Ameriquest people threw around the idea of Ameriquest Ballpark in Arlington. However, when they decided that people would just continue to call it The Ballpark in Arlington, they decided it was better to call it Ameriquest Field...thus requiring a change in the vernacular of the media and of Rangers fans that included their company name. Smart move on their part.
  15. That complete game shutout totally padded my fantasy baseball stats.
  16. Well...I should clarify. First game I was all for the Red Sox. The second game I was rooting for the Rangers. If the Rangers play anyone else...I'm for the Rangers all the way (just ask MrStrange about my baseball TV viewing...I scream at the TV when Texas messes up). I'm just back and forth with the Sox. If it comes down to a playoff series...I'll have to flip a coin. Oh yeah, I saw alot of Mean Green gear out there, too. Several folks in my section were sporting NT hats....and we had a good talk about Mean Green football with the guy behind us.
  17. As a lifelong Rangers fan (though the A-Rod years were tough to follow...hated him before, hate him more now), and a Red Sox fan for a little over a couple of years (thanks to the excessive amount of time I spent in the Massachusetts area last year)...last night was alot of fun. I didn't really care who won or lost...I had on my Sox hat and my Rangers shirt...cheered for both teams...which confused the hell out of the people around me. I think the Rangers might finally have something special this year. I know it's early...but maybe they're finally getting things together. Gotta love Blalock and Texiera... Go Rangers...Go Red Sox! (Just don't make me choose if it comes down to it in the ALCS)
  18. I'm really beginning to think that we may see Nellie "retire" over the off-season. Nash is gone...maybe Finley, too. I can see Walker traded away. I'd hate to see that happen...but this team is about to be dismantled.
  19. Yeah...when I wrote that...I was kinda down at the fact that so many auctions had popped up in the few hours following the announcement. Then the bid hijackings up to $15,000 just made me laugh. Laugh at the fact that people are so dumb. On a different note...I saw a pretty good documentary segment on ESPN earlier today...sounded like it was narrated by Kiefer Sutherland...about the Tillman brothers. Very moving.
  20. I totally agree. Though I think it should be a #40 with an Army Rangers patch logo across it. I just hope people (namely the NFL and the US Govt.) don't try to take advantage of this. Sadly, it looks like people on eBay are already cashing in.
  21. Dude...I'm not defending anyone here. You are well within your rights to say whatever you want about Justin Barnett...or Calvin Watson...or Scott Hall...or whoever. I'm just saying...if you want to post YOUR opinions, use your own damn account. They're YOUR opinions...and NOT the opinions of KPFC-FM. I'm not defending or vilifying anyone for anything they said...because I try to stay neutral on subjects I know little about, these days. Say whatever you want...say Barnett sleeps with goats. I don't care. Just do it under your own name.
  22. I'm not trying to censor him. He can say whatever the hell he wants. That's his opinion...free speech...his First Amendment Right. But I want those opinions to be attributed to Aaron "IronMan4" Switzer and not to "KPFC Sports Dept". That account was created soley for promoting KPFC-FM programming...not for regular posting.
  23. The above statement by the user with the name KPFC Sports Dept. does not reflect the views of anyone associated with KPFC-FM. I'd appreciate the person using that account (IronMan4) to use his regular account when posting Hot Sports Opinions. Thank you.
