The REAL Post of the Day. I agree with Scrotty here. This should be a long term goal. Just don't think we could make it happen on such short notice. Believe me, planning something like this on short notice = NIGHTMARE. Example: Original North Texas Pit Crew the night we booked 2 bands, free food, and a huge spotlight in attempt to Pack the Pit. Never again without weeks to plan and a budget. We nearly killed ourselves...and I nearly killed many others in stressed out rage leading up to that night. (That...and Ragweed is too expensive these days...Bowling for Soup is touring right now...I'm flying up to see them in Salt Lake City tomorrow night). We do need to try to plan this event a little better next year...with all the things that G'NV describes above. The Mean Green Nation is growing...and more and more need to be involved in things like this. Oh and I do need a little notice on the date so I can plan my shift swaps accordingly and possibly get my jumpseat-time in at the same time.

Actually, I believe the WTC that was brought down in the 9/11 attacks was the same one that was bombed in Feb. 1993. Bomb was in Tower One's parking garage.

Update... New National Weather Service Forecast just came out...calling for more freezing rain, light freezing drizzle, and/or ice pellets until around 1am central. Guess they don't see a real end to it. They ARE known to be wrong...alot (ahhh, the science of "aft-casting"). DFW Airport popped up above freezing around an hour and a half ago. Officially, the freezing rain ended at 1038 local time and is now just light rain. There's another go-round of the freezing crap currently about 35 miles to the east...but with the temperatures staying just up above freezing, it will likely not be freezing precip until later. Bad news is, if this regular light rain continues, it's just going to make the roads wet enough for sheets of ice/black ice later today. Forecast is currently calling for more freezing rain and ice pellets sometime between 6pm and 10pm central time. If you're flying in or out of North Texas today, check with your airline...we've been cancelling alot of stuff in that area. And, for Pete's sake, if you don't have to drive...DON'T. 12-5 does qualify...but getting there consistently would be nice. Some promotion to get people out to the games would be nice (I know, I haven't been there lately...but I have an excuse). And some sort of success in the conference tourney would help, too.

That would be nice...but shouldn't we put something into developing a semi-successful basketball team first? We won't be going anywhere, C-USA or otherwise, without showing we have plans for success in basketball. Grow what you already have...

Since we unintentionally hijacked that thread about the coaching staff in the MGR forum...and because, now that I live in Utah, I'm semi-interested in the "whatever happened to _____" discussions...I figured I'd start this thread. So to continue this...Whatever happened to Kolby Kuykendall? I really thought he'd get a football offer from a small school at least. Granted, I know nothing of his academics. He was undersized for sure, but I remember watching/coaching him when he was little...5th & 6th grade...and having to take him out of games at the requests of the refs and other parents because he was unintentionally injuring the other kids. Never made any illegal hits or anything dirty...he just hit that hard even at that age.
