It's not like we are short of LB talent? Move Shawn Early inside, and dont rule out how far Colt Mahan has come. He is fast, has put on muscle, and was playing very well in the spring. I think we have more than enough talent to run the 3-4. Eddie will be missed, but we have others who can play the outside. I also agree that Monroe would be a potential play-maker at that spot. GMG!!!

No kidding... I'm in for the meat chopper thing. It's great doing these things for the team and fans, but a little upgrade in the prep department would be most welcome. If not, I will still help, but I'm bringing a "Ginsu".... GMG!!!

Yeah, our offense was bad...no doubt, but did you happen to see where Tulsa listed? Top 25 (came in at #23) with 430 points. That is more offensive points than two of the top 10 teams? Maybe getting blown out by them wasnt such a fluke after all. Well, here's hoping we get no "flukes" this season... at least "please" not at home. GMG!!!

The kid is some fighter... and you've been in his corner from day one, Bill. I admit I didnt think he would make this team, but you backed him. I dont know what real contribution he can make at that size other than special teams, but he never quits and battles until the whistle...no doubt. If Maldonado ever gets in a game at RB and scores, he should run into the stands and acknowledge you!!! (I hear the coaches already do that???) GMG!!!

Welcome to the board... I have a brother stationed there at Helo. He said he does get homesick, but who wouldnt want to live in paradise??? We are all glad that Steven chose North Texas. I think he will love it in Denton!!! GMG!!!

I love the optimism we are getting in the press. The wild-card for our team is still at the QB position. I think the prognosticators at PP are off a bit on the 6-6, but I have us 8-4 and winning the conference. I see losses at UT, Tulsa, Akron, and Ark. State. (I hope I'm wrong about Akron, but OOC games are just not predictable wins right now) I'll take 8-4 and a trip to the Bowl. We had a blast there last year and our team wasnt even in it.. Making it back now would be sweet! With exception to a few (yes LoveMG, I include you here) I think most of us would be happy with a conference title and N.O. bowl bid. GMG!!!

I'll take the SMU win at home. UT was a decent match-up back when we had that really good defense. (Kennedy, Awasome, Hurd, Buckles, Jones, Spencer) and 27-0 final score was a victory of sorts for us. As much faith as I have in this team, and I do have faith... I dont think this D is as good as that one was. However, this defense is certainly good enough to control the Ponies. I feel like this is a winnable game regardless of what they are saying on their board. Other than Bobby Chase and one great linebacker, they dont have a distinct talent advantage over anyone on their schedule except maybe Sam Houston State? The bulk of their schedule will be really tough for them. Give me a win on September 9th. We will be out there the night before tailgaiting, so it would be nice to leave Fouts with alcohol related nausea...not football related. Any Pony fans that want to come out have a beer are welcome... but the rum is only for Mean Greeners... GMG!!!

I with ya there, brotha. I dont know who's stadium we are in, but Fouts should have been easy to carry from the last game? As for J-Mo, try running him inside the tackles. He got 168 against UT, and 226 against SMU. Also use the play action pass as Nwigwe seems to be wide open on most plays. I moved him up to #2 receiver. Defenses are keying on Jamario, so Matt Phillips is doing well in my games. He has 5 TD passes already. (threw two picks against UT though... ) The game is fun..but I want Fouts back. ( I cant believe I just wrote that???) GMG!!!

Graphics ROCK, Helmets look great, but whose stadium are we in? No track and it looks to hold about 50K fans I think I like our real jumbo tron better than the one shown, but the field looks exactly like ours. I also made a quick change and started Isaac Thomas at DT (Had to... I've been praising the guy for two years) and Blake Burruss at DE. Gilmore starts on the left. Also... YES, Danny Meager is the starter in the game. I started Matt Phillips in the quick game. JQ had a 55 yard punt return, but was caught from behind at the 13 yard line. Like THAT would ever happen? Graves one sack, and Monroe an int. If nothing else, the 3-4 works in video games. Quick game opens to NT vs. NMSU. (If that is really what their new uni's look like?...Geesh that's horrible) Overal I like it. GMG!!!

They are a confident bunch, you gotta give them that? I look at it like this... If we can hang 50 points on a Big-XII team in our stadium, then we have a shot at beating SMU. Our defense should be better (still not sure about which of our corners covers Big Bobby Chase, but Coach Evans knows his stuff...I trust him), and we SHOULD have a QB that fires the ball to Quinn and company downfield. I like our chances. If we should lose, I will never hear the end of it from the Chases... So let's just PLEASE win this one. GMG!!!

Man that thing was awful... But you have to love their spirit! Maybe next time they could get someone to do it who has rhythm? I like the idea of a shirt for this rivalry (if we want to call it that). We may want something that comes across less begrudging. Next year's ponies will be better, so I am not so quick to fire the first round. However, as Emmitt is onto something here... My t-shirt would be more simple; Front: "Yes, Ford Stadium is nicer than Fouts..." Back: "We dont have front row parking at halftime" Or Front: "SMU Football...where every fan counts" Back: "But every game ticket counts TWICE" and finally Front: "Phil Bennett...meet Jamario Thomas" Back: "You can help coach him next year." Good write up. I'm not so sure about Padrick as the pre-season All Conference QB, (MTSU-Clint Marks would be my guess), but on the mark pretty much over-all. I hope we do better than 5-7, but I agree that the other teams at the top are much better than they have been. We'll see soon enough! GMG!!!

I'm really going to catch it, but I have to say SMU is #2. They are close enough to go watch when we are off, I know two of their players, and Phil Bennet is made of the same Kryptonite as Ramon Flannigan. ANYONE who can keep a HC job after the terrible years he has had deserves support. Last year SMU was the ONLY team to knock off TCU, and they are improving. I just hope they havent improved too much by September 9th. Alright, let me have it.... GMG!!!
