  1. My fear is that with all the FCS teams moving up to fill out the G5 conferences, FBS is getting far too crowded. There almost has to be a split coming and then we could find ourselves back in an official 2nd tier with it's own bowl system and/or championship. A Couple of weeks ago Kennesaw State had an attendance < 4,000. I am so glad we are leaving CUSA. Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State and Sam Houston ? Wow. If we were stuck in CUSA next year, it would seem like the old D1AA days.
  2. Ideyi and Shorter would both be huge losses. Adeyi is averaging an amazing 8.0 yds/carry this hear. And, Shorter is no doubt the best WR on the roster.
  3. No, he did not. Zeno played instead of Hopkins.
  4. FIU was just pitiful until the UTSA game. I thought this was the one sure blowout on our schedule. But, you can't discount them crushing Charlotte and then eeking out a win against La Tech the last 2 weeks. They are playing with more confidence. I expect an NT win. But, a 21 point spread sounds much too high for me.
  5. Not the refs, just the replay official. The refs called it correctly.
  6. FIU earlier was looking like a gimme game. They have really turned things around. It should be a game our guys win. But, you can't sleep on them now either.
  7. I'll take a stab at this. Bowl games have more visibility than regular season games. Winning every bowl game is not necessary. But, you can't lose them all. And, getting blown out in every recent bowl gives fans no real incentive to go to the next one. And yes, conference championships are important also. But, we have not done well in that area also since joining CUSA. North Texas does not get much National visibility. They need to take advantage of the opportunity when they get it. Personally, I don't really care for the bowl system. But, that is what we are stuck with.
  8. The HELL ? One of the worst targeting shots I have seen and they pull the flag ?
  9. Wow. Caught a break on that drive. Offense had better show something. It has been a long while.
  10. WKU defense has made adjustments.
  11. Blown opportunity for points on that drive.
  12. It's nice, but not that special ?
  13. The ESPN announcers right now...."They did it in all 3 phases"....lol Nice win. When the running game is going like that, this team is hard to stop. 8 conference wins in a row is impressive. The real test comes over the next 2 weeks though
  14. Just like the NCAA BB Tournament, there are a whole lot of people that want to see the upstarts beat the perennial powers. For me and many others, the first 2 days of the NCAA BB tourney are the most exciting. Outside of the powerhouse teams alumni, I think the rest of the country would like to see someone new take them down. Frankly, I think most of the nation is tired of the same P5 teams winning every year.
  15. College football is just not working for me anymore as a fan with the NIL + Portal. I used to have a broad interest in College Sports Now, I only pay attention to my school (NT) and could care less about anybody else. And, it's even harder for me to get excited about NT football, not knowing who is actually going to be on team from year to year. College football attendance has been dropping for 7 straight years now. The misused NIL+Portal is only going to make matters worse IMO.
  16. FAU just keeps hanging in there.
  17. I don't think so. I believe it was just for a change of pace. Stone appeared to be just looking to run, not pass.
  18. My God this broadcast is awful. The announcers are OK. But, the cameras and score updates look like something out of the 80's Soviet era TV (CCCP).
  19. In theory we could get to 6-6 (ouch...again). This FAU game is pretty important in that regard. All 3 road games remaining are tough teams and we probably be blown out: UTSA, Western Kentucky and UAB 3 home games remaining are at least winnable: FAU, La Tech and Rice. 1 home game, FIU, should be a blowout in our favor, unless the team has given up by then. If FAU beats us this weekend, then I think the likelihood of hitting 6 wins will be pretty difficult based on the way this team has played so far and the upcoming schedule. It's odd that the best teams are all on the road. I think that works in UNT's favor, because they most likely could not compete with UTSA, WKU and UAB at home anyway. So, why waste a home game. Would 6-6 really be better for the program than a losing record ? I guess that depends on whether 6-6 (and another bowl loss) gets this staff another year. I can't imagine that could really be true. But, who really knows what Wren and Neal are thinking.
  20. Watching Middle Tennessee's QB and realizing we haven't seen QB play around here since, you know who. 45-24 8:42 left MT over Miami and they just keep putting the foot on the gas.
  21. I am switching to MT vs #22 Miami Middle is still up by 14 in the 4th. Imagine.
  22. Good thing this is a road game. Can you imagine if it was at home ?
  23. Aune had better not see another snap today. Two pick-sixes have cost the team the game.
  24. Lets be honest here. Aune does not have a rocket arm to complete a 3rd and long like that. They could not afford another interception.
