Wow. What a class this is turning out to be !

9-4 Losses to FAU, ARK and 2 of the 3 (SMU, LT, UAB). No (west) conference championship as we lose on tie breakers. We win a bowl game to conclude a good season. My concerns are RB, overall defense and special teams. There was just such a big drop off last year when Jeffrey went out. The addition of Torrey should help IMO.

1) FAU 2) Marshall 3) La Tech 4) UNT 5) UAB 6) MTSU 7) USM 😎 WKU 9) FIU 10) UTSA 11) ODU 12) RICE 13) Charlotte 14) UTEP FAU was in a class by themselves last season. I know they lost a few key guys. But, they are still loaded. La Tech, NT and UAB are going to be in for a dogfight. Any of these teams could take the west.

I feel a little bit better about this, given SL's new salary and buyout clause. KK makes 3.5 mil. Littrell is making about 1.4, with a large buyout. It could happen. But, I am not sure Tech will be willing to make that move if they have other options. Hopefully Tech will have a good year and KK will stay anyway.

I feel sick all over again watching that video. That drive back from Austin was the longest ever. Like everyone else, my brother and I did not expect a win. We drove down to Austin just hoping for a good effort from our guys, then to proudly wear our green on 6th street after even after losing. Instead, we jumped in our car and headed straight back to Denton.. There was no way we could have stayed in Austin after getting robbed like that (2 TD's), because we would have gotten into a fight for sure. Our anger was off the charts after that game. To this day, that was the most biased, officiated football game I have ever seen.

The coaches have been great. But, the job Wren has done has been just as fantastic. He is just as important to us, if not more, than the coaches IMO. He is spot on about having the right infrastructure in place. Boise State has gone through 4 coaches in the last 20 years and has never skipped a beat (18 bowls in 19 years). A program can tolerate a coaching loss if they have a next guy up mentality and a plan in place.

We would seem to be headed for a golden era of NT sports in the next 2 or 3 years, because of these men. The longer we can hang on to them, the longer that era should last.

Blankenship has a good point. UNT is only an hour south of the Oklahoma border. There is a lot of competition for top players in North Texas. Probably more than Oklahoma. Littrell also knows Oklahoma, which really helps. And, the success of Fine probably had something to do with this signing.

I would feel a lot better about our chances of pulling off the upset if Jeffrey Wilson was back. The new RB's may give us a big boost. But, I was not really impressed with the running game after Wilson was hurt last year. Its not that the running game was bad. It was just not the running game with Wilson.

Welcome to mediocrity UTA, or worse. If this is all just about winning more titles, then this is one of the dumbest firings I have ever seen at any level of sports.

I love that both our AD and coaching staff really take advantage of social media. That is critical if you really want to reach out to students and potential recruits these days.

Coaching in BB really matters. Much more than I have ever realized.

Guys, Graham is from Bastrop, LA. I remember hearing last week that he wanted to play closer to home. We have landed a few pretty good players that way ourselves over the years. Sometimes, they just want to play football in front of their famliy.

Wilson is pretty special and it was evident those last 2 games without him. He was always a threat to take it to the house. This is probably why our passing game struggled a bit more without Wilson, especially Guyton who I bet received more attention than normal. We always seem to do a good job of replacing really good backs. Hopefully, that will continue next year.

I am completely amazed at how much a difference coaching can make. On paper, this team does not seem as talented as those during the Benford years. Yet, all they do is compete and win. Thank you Coach McCasland.

We really miss Jeffrey Wilson.

Or maybe Guyton is getting double teamed and the other WR's are not stepping up.

Jeffrey Wilson would take a little bit of the sting off this game if he were here. Nick Smith could end up being a fine RB. But, Wilson is pretty special.

FAU should have just left their punter at home. They have no need for him against our D.

IMO great call by the coaches on that fake FG. Shambour just missed the throw.

Have they punted against us this year ? I don't think so.
