5-6 This is optimistic assuming that somebody steps up at the QB position and can at least be consistent (at least 58% completions, 2 to 1 TD to int ratio). I am not expecting the 2nd coming of Mason.

Provided there is a season, I think we see both play against Houston Baptist. The most poised of the 2 will then start against SMU. I just have a good feeling about Aune. And, I do think his maturity from playing minor league baseball is a plus.

It's just unbelievable how underachieving the Texas football program has been the last 10 years. All that money and they only have 1 double digit win season (10-4 in 2918) and 4 losing seasons. Oklahoma does far more with a budget that is more than 25% less.

Maybe they didn't want Deion hanging around practice, telling the coaches what to do. So often these celebrity parents become nightmares for coaches.

Decisions certainly don't need to be rushed. But, unless there is a major breakthrough soon regarding Covid-19, I expect the same for college football. In fact, I expect the NBA, NCAA BB, MLB, NHL and eventually the NFL to all cancel this season. More and more professional players are speaking out about not wanting to play with this virus still peaking. That mentality, plus active illnesses, are going to cause a diluted product on the field, with no fans and completely messed up schedules. In the end, I think the sports owners, university presidents, etc will think it is just not worth the risk to play. Then, you have to throw in the possible social implications of making the wrong decision by putting players in danger. Nobody will want to be "that guy" or woman that puts players lives in danger, especially when a sports figure passes away from CV. As if that isn't enough, you have all the political protests to deal with in the upcoming season. The dominoes are already lined up. It's just a matter of who will knock over the first one. Just MHO. It's a real shame. Sports (without politics) are badly needed now.

You are at least 1 year too early IMO. Recruiting is really up after a slow start. 2021-22 is the year for this team to break out. That will be the season that he is judged on.

All schools are going to be hurting. However, we seem to have an AD in place that sees opportunity when available. The old NT would already have announced severe cuts. Even if cuts are coming at NT, the atmosphere is still positive right now. That is a huge difference between NT now and in the past. I think we are smart for sitting back and watching the cards fall before committing early to cuts. You never know what might happen. We have missed out on plenty of opportunities in the past because we simply were not ready to jump.

Last year was no doubt a disappointment. I have some concern about this coming season. However, the last few signing classes have been really good and eventually (2021 ?), this team should break through from those signings.. Seth is a good coach. I am still really happy to have him here. At least we shouldn't have to listen to rumors about him leaving this season. He was still on the coaching hot list last year until the 3 game losing streak at the end put a stop to that.

I thought Buechele was a one year rental last year ? I guess not. Sometimes you have to give credit, where credit is due. Our guys are just going to have to man up.

La Tech fans want nothing to do with Monroe, for good reason. They have hatred for LaLa, but also some mutual respect. At least, this is what I have heard from most Tech fans over the years.

Well, congrats to the Men's team for winning the CUSA regular season championship. I am sure that the players are more disappointed then we are. Especially since they were at least guaranteed an NIT bid, if not NCAA.

I really think they will be pressured into cancelling it.

I wish people would stop saying smaller schools. Middle Tennessee's enrollment is over 20k. It drives me crazy when people call NT a smaller school. My ex-wife told me I was full of crap, when I told her that NT was larger than OU (her alma mater). Even after showing her the numbers, she refused to believe it. So, I divorced her (well, it was really for other reasons). It just goes to show what football does for a schools perception.

Interesting that they have Rhode Island, one of our losses, as an #11 seed. Such a long way to go to get to that point though. An NCAA bid would obviously be the ultimate. But, an automatic NIT bid would be a really nice consolation prize.

A lot of crazy things could happen in Pod 1, as every team has been nearly unbeatable at home: UNT 12-2 LT 13-1 Charlotte 12-1 FIU 11-1 It's not out of the question that every team goes 2-2 with wins at home. We really need to hold serve against La Tech.

You have to be happy about these last 2 draft classes compared to the rest of CUSA: #1 in Avg (24/7) in 2019. #2 in Avg (24/7) in 2020. This years avg is even slightly higher than last.
