  1. You can usually do either or both. We have purchased day by day in the past and one year bought a tournament pass. I kinda depends for us on how long we expect to last.
  2. Can't read the article because the Denton paper won't offer a sports section only option, but if Brett says Kendall is just getting better and better, he is correct. Our guards played great and Quincy was outstanding on the defensive end. Great job by the coaches in making halftime adjustments.
  3. The NT WBB beat the stuffing out of the Owls today. At the half, it looked like what we have seen a lot of this year. Turnovers and missed shots were killing us. The second half was a different story. NT held FAU to 8 points in the third quarter while scoring 21 and repeated it in the 4th to win by 16. McGruder was on fire and our guards were the best they've been all year. Coach Mitchell changed up the starting 5 and some of her substitutions. Shout out to Quincy coming off the bench and playing great defense. You can see signs of thus team figuring it out. Consistency is the biggest issue right now.

  4. You know what we should do? We should have a meeting and give Coach M our thoughts on how to run his team and how to win a conference championship. While we are at it, maybe we could all throw in our thoughts on who he should target in recruiting. That would be terrific.
  5. How quickly we forget. She took the program when it was terrible. She built it steadily until we had only our 4th and 5th postseason appearances. She made it to the finals of the WCBI and hosted a WNIT. However, we were a Sr heavy team last year. This team is young and experienced some growing pains. I would say give her another year. Some of you seem to have no idea how hard it is to overcome the perception that NT is the place you go when nobody else offers. We have been that in Women's basketball for most of the time we have had the sport. She has changed that. I am willing to give this another year.
  6. Found a way to overcome a bad 2nd quarter. Got out rebounded badly in the first half but fixed it in the second half. They are really beat up and still found a way to win. WKU isn't anything special, but you still need to beat those people.

  7. If we plan to run this scheme, we better stunt a hell of a lot better than we ever have. We better get off blocks better than we ever have. We better man cover better than we ever have. I hope we run whatever scheme gets our best 11 of the field regardless of what positions they play.
  8. Trying to find a non-conference opponent 1 year out is a take what you can get kind of deal. I'm okay with it as long as we win.
  9. They may ask, but more often than not the coaches alma mater does not offer. I don't know of a single coach that pushed a kid to play in a certain school. Not one in 27 years. I did encourage NT not to offer a kid once. He was a poor character individual and I didn't want him at NT. The coaches at NT decided not to offer and he want to another school where he did exactly what I predicted. But I never spoke to the kid about where to go or not go. My advice to the kids was 1) Don't worry about the size of the school or the conference 2) Do you like the coaches and think you will have a good experience there? and 3) Do they offer the degree you want? Will you get a good education there? I also asked "Do you think you are their #5 recruit or their #25 recruit?" If you are #25, perhaps you should consider some of the other offers, even if they are smaller. Go where you are wanted the most. Again, not one coach I worked with in 27 years tried to influence a kid to go to the same school they did.
  10. High school coaches do not pick colleges for their kids. This does not happen. High school coaches open the doors to any college coach that wants to recruit their kids. They do NOT influence where the kids go. This whole "high school connections" thing is WAY over rated. High school coaches do not choose the colleges for their players. I have been involved in recruiting for athletes in 3 different sports for a number of high schools where I worked. Never, never, never had influence over where a kid went. That is totally between the college, the kid, and the parents.
  11. If you want to go you can find a way. If you don't want to go you will find an excuse. Like Deon said, make an investment or hush.
  12. On the stage at UTA. Was also a Jimmy Gales sighting in there too. And the warm ups at the end of the clip were awesome.
  13. I would imagine most of the complaints are from the exact people Deon is talking about. Keyboard warriors, but not much else. The "I'll wait until I see if they win" crowd. "I'm not giving until they do this or that or fire him or her" while I contribute the minimum to the program.
  14. All of this! Just put on green and it is the same with us. Are you stepping up? Do you show up win or lose, rain or shine? Are you all in? If not, this video should speak directly to you.
  15. Made our defense when you moved from LB so S. Thank you for being a team player.
  16. I hope 3 years from now I look back and this was a great hire. For now, I'll root for his success but his resume is unimpressive to me. Time will tell, but these "connections" with high school coaches is a very overrated thing. Go Coach O and Go Mean Green!
  17. This was a huge win for us that doesn't get the respect it deserves. WK is good and we whipped them badly at their place.
  18. And it was gold until we couldn't get a bowl invite. Iowa took advantage and we soon fell back to I-AA with a president that didn't support athletics. We are still trying to recover.
  19. The DC will be his most important decision. This was Set's downfall more than anything else. Bennett was better, but we never tackle well.
  20. Just another name on my block list. These kids were amazing representatives of our school and I will remember them always. I'm proud of how they played and what they accomplished.
  21. This simply cannot be true. From what I read on here, losing bowl games is a reason to be fired.
  22. We have given up an insane amount of points the last 4 years. What is your plan to change that?
  23. Our QB play wouldn't be a problem if we didn't need to score 40 every game.
  24. QB play has not been our issue the last 4 years. Our inability to count on our defense has been. I hope we get some defensive players.
  25. The time to step up is now, and I don't just mean the football coaches. Many, many, many of this board ranted for weeks about needing a new coach to step up to a new conference. But it can't just be the coaches. All of us need to do the same. So, is everyone who wished for a coaching change willing to step up? Are you willing to purchase season tickets if you haven't? Are you increasing your MGSF pledge? How about buying 2 extra seats and bringing friends to every game? And if you aren't willing to do more, why would you expect more? Time for EVERYONE to step up.
