I was beginning to wonder if this was going to happen. This looks like a great hire! Though there have been some head-scratching moments, I like Dodge's offense overall... I think having Coach Canales on board, will help keep those head-scratching moments to a minimum. Gotta love the guy's spread knowledge/experience. And, being a receivers coach on the NFL level should help Coach George and the WRs. Hopefully, Dodge will loosen the reigns on the offense and trust his hire to run it. Now, about the defense...

What are these ties? I agree, if we had to lose one of the two DeSoto players, Eddie would be my first choice.

Not that he had much political clout anyway, but I'm pretty sure Craig James has shot his political career in Texas in the foot with this situation. It's certainly not helping...

I agree. Eddie cited interest from ALL of their coaches, not just his would-be position coach. Hasn't that been a knock on Coach DeLoach before though... that he's not very involved in recruiting?

"Riley Dodge opted to play for his dad at tiny North Texas" Just goes to show what the rest of the nation (and even some folks in our own backyard) thinks of UNT. We're anything but "tiny". *OK, our football budget is apparently tiny* We're not Austin College though! Until our athletics programs can play on the national stage, this will be the view of regular Joes everywhere. Sad, but true...

I'm not excited about this either, but hey, I'm sure App St. was not looking forward to playing Michigan. Give Dodge a little time to get his guys in here.
