  1. Gabe Hollivay could probably eat 40 hot dogs faster than any other guy on the team.
  2. I think the Bud Light (I would rather drink water from the tap than Bud Light) commercials were the best. The house made of bud light cans/bottles was funny, but the one with everyone synthesized with T-Pain voices was my favorite.
  3. I'm always leery of a team with nothing to play for, especially when they are home. I'm sure UNO likes losing as much as anyone else, so they'll probably bring their best shot at us. Hopefully the good guys can pull this out!
  4. Great showing by the ladies!
  5. Without a doubt! If JJ can't win this game by at least 30pts, he should promptly have a concussion administered by RV's fist, then locked in the electrical closet with no cell phone (for legal reasons).
  6. OK. So Troy slays MT, we get help from ULM, and a nice surprise from UALR. Of course, we weren't expecting UNO or FIU to help... So going forward, are there certain scenarios that would benefit UNT more than others? Obviously, we want ULL and ASU to lose as many as possible, but what about the East? Who should we be pulling for to win? I think the biggest game left on the calendar is our matchup with ULL at home, and barring serious injury or anything, and assuming Denver continues to stink on the road, I think we should be on a 6 game win streak heading into that game.
  7. Is this what made the Kansas CC's what they are today? If you look at them, they are full of highly recruited players. Were they built up because kids knew that if they excelled in the Kansas Jucos, then they would have a good chance of going to KState? Or, were they already a high quality league and KState just happened to be a good team in close proximity?
  8. I hope that it's not only coach Dodge that is infused with confidence. I'm pretty sure that coach Canales will come in with confidence, I just hope he can convey that to the players. I hope the incoming juco defensive guys will bring coach DeLoach some confidence as well. I hope he'll have confidence to rush QB's with more than just his down linemen more often next season. I also hope that Olen is as advertised so that Dodge can have more confidence in his kicking game. I think that with Dodge learning the speed of the game over the past few years, he'll now have his own confidence (at least I hope so). +1 by the way... you're not splitting hairs, that's a big difference.
  9. I really liked what I saw of Alzee yesterday. I hope this is the beginning of the norm for him.
  10. Cam was definitely a favorite of mine. Congrats Cam on a job well done!
  11. Pretty easy to see the teams we need to be pulling for here, other than the Troy/MT game. Would it be better for Troy to win and keep the seeding knotted up, knowing we have the tie-breaker, and have MT brought down into the pack? Or, would it be better for us if MT wins and pulls away in the East while knocking Troy down?
  12. Overall, a toss up between Orr and Bellazin. I like the H.S. guys a little better because we have them around a while longer. Orr because of his pedigree and the praise that the coaches were pouring on him. Bellazin because of his size and his highlight videos. Impacting this year, I like Forlando Johnson. From the way the coaches were talking about him and his highlights, I think he starts right away. As a sleeper, I like Graylan Hawkins. I think the frame is there, he just has to hit the weightroom with coach Gahagan. Redshirt him this year, and I think he could be a nice tackle for us in the future.
  13. It took me a while to find this functionality as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXaTWKt4RvA
  14. I'm not in your generation, so I would like to know what this handshake is? Is it like a high five or something? You should have gave him daps!
  15. If he can be an effective TE, then by all means, put him there. I'll bet he can block well! I'm just worried about DT depth though. Beyond Atkinson and Jackson, we are a little inexperienced. Brian Waters was a little before my time, but if Ross can be as good as Waters, that would be great!
  16. I really don't recall hearing much AT ALL from coach Ford. With the limited time and venue in which he was talking, coach Canales came across as a guy very much like Todd Dodge in respect to his care for the guys as men and not just players. I hope to hear more from him soon. I'd like to hear what some of the guys have to say about him. I don't recall hearing lots of guys praising coach Ford (not that they were bashing him or anything either). Hopefully, we'll hear them speak highly of coach Canales. You can accomplish more if you believe in what's coming down from leadership.
  17. I thought he was one of our more effective DT's...
  18. Well, at least we've beefed up the DE spots with last year's and this year's classes. With Jackson and Atkinson gone next year, we'll have immediate playing time to offer Juco DT's.
  19. Glad to have him back for next year, I hope we see a little more improvement from Alzee in the coming weeks. I just hope that Josh doesn't run out of gas come tournament time. I think we've really missed Dom this year.
  20. Do we know if Dominique will be available for the SBC tourney (or possibly before)?? If not, do we know if coach Jones plans to/is able to use a redshirt for him?
  21. I hope Olen turns into a real difference maker this year. The stats are impressive. Having a kicker you can trust is something that Dodge has not yet experienced in his 3 years here. We didn't know what we lost when Baz graduated...
  22. Hope to be at the Pourhouse for Dodge's show... Do we know if the NT Athletics website will be blogging with all of the LOI's that come in like they did last year?
  23. Yeah, this is a fairly common practice. Some H.S. coaches just don't have the grades to make it in division 1 football... so sad.
  24. We picked up a kicker in Olen, and I thought Atteberry was pretty good last year as a true freshman. Let's hope that Olen is better than Knott...
  25. For real? That's awful... I would expect Tune to have better discipline than Riley did last year as a RS freshman. I think Riley should only improve over this offseason, and the results should be fewer INT's and fumbles. Tune is a nice backup. No question that Riley has the better wheels though, and in Dodge's system, and Canales' system, that is a huge part of the QB position. I'm lookinig forward to seeing Riley's improvements, and in the horrible case that he goes down, I'll be confident in Tune's abilities.
