  1. Wow. I think memory is taking it's toll on some people (Fine). I know jilted-lover syndrome is (Rogers). Also, some of y'all are basically crowning CMorris (oddly enough, some of y'all based on his High School rating of all things?) after playing 5 games, 4 of which were against some pretty crappy teams... the other one, VS a good (not great) TXTech in which CMorris had a HORRIBLE game. I'm talking QBR of 9.1! (this, lower than Fine's first-ever start as a true Freshman in the Swamp VS a ranked Florida team, where he threw for only 66 yds.) Y'all may want to do 3 things here: 1) Review Mason Fine's statistics, and maybe re-watch some of his highlights. I can't believe someone would call his pocket presence, or playing under pressure into question if you were in the house for "The Drive". 2) Review Chandler Rogers' statistics (missing 1/10 of a season twiddling his thumbs on the bench to start the season), and maybe re-watch some of his highlights. I can't help but think his departure is factoring into many of y'all's opinion of him & his play while here. He made a stupid decision, and should still be here. 3) Wait to crown CMorris until he lasts longer in Green than CRogers, and plays decently against the likes of Memphis, Tulane, & Army. If he can do this, maybe he can move up the ladder. As of right now, I "got": 1. Fine 2. Rogers 3. Morris
  2. I've been saying this for years! NIU has brand recognition because they always seem to have either a great season (BCS Bowl/ranking in 2013) , or a great game (beat Michigan this year). Not to mention, they sit in the Chicago market like we sit in DFW. They're in a pretty good place, regionally, in the MAC, so I'm not sure how excited they'd be to move.
  3. Wait, wut? Why wouldn't he play? This is kinda where I'm at. I don't think Tulsa has the "Jimmies & Joes" to beat NT.
  4. An absolute no-brainer and requiring Eric Morris' 100% attention as soon as he's in the portal (if not via back-channels beforehand).
  5. I wonder if the AAC could offer New Mexico as well to entice Air Force to come. They'd be out on an island by themselves if we only brought them. But if we could get them a travel partner in ABQ, maybe it would make it a little easier... and even though their football is garbage, UNM's basketball is a very solid program.
  6. I have a few of these if you need one.
  7. You may want to double-check a couple of things here.... 1. Baylor's history of Football coaches and who they'll gladly touch with 10ft poles. 2. Where GJ Kinne is from and who he played for there. If you think GJ didn't learn quite a bit from Traylor, you're naive.
  8. Good call on Coach Reff's 2018 defense. The success of that defense always gives me pause in deeming that the 3-3-5 stack an ineffective scheme. It certainly can be. The success with Mazin and the 2022 defense was PB's 4-2-5. That scheme seems to be MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE than the 3-3-5 stack nowdays anyway. Wyoming is not very good, and had no tape of us in a 34 defense. So of course, if we executed, it was going to work against them. I'm sorry to tell y'all... Even though Tulsa is not very good either, they've now seen us in this scheme. So they can prepare for it. Kevin Wilson is a good offensive mind. I just hope he doesn't have the horses to take advantage.
  9. The Soccer ladies win again. But they probably did something wrong. Where y'at @GrandGreen?
  10. OK man. Have fun needlessly criticizing a winning program.
  11. Seeing as how they have not lost a game over the past 7... yes. Especially when there's a dumpster fire raging on the football board. Oddly enough, the team you deem as "lower tier" is another D1 team, playing in the WAC. It's just weird to fire up a thread to "express disappointment" in a winning program at the current time is all I'm saying.
  12. What we're all hoping to see is a prepared team that comes out with poise and focus. Start fast, and take out any/all frustrations from last weekend on this poor Wyoming team. I really don't think this is out of the realm of possibility if the players have any shred of competitive fire and belief in their team. What I'm worried we see is a Wyoming team coming in and punching us in the mouth early due to some defensive mistake, and watching our guys fold again. I'm leaning towards the first scenario, but no one can blame any of us fans for holding our breaths in anticipation of the second scenario.
  13. The football team just laid a top-5 all-time embarrassing loss... but let me come over here and crap on the soccer ladies because they tied someone.
  14. Morris is a good coach (Offensive Coordinator). I believe that. The problem is, we fired a dude like him... only that guy was a better OC & HC. 😢
  15. Are we really crapping on the Soccer ladies' now?? Talk about stray bullets... Have you seen what's been going on with the football team? Try to keep your vitriol over there.
  16. Fool me once... shame on you. Fool me for a 14th time, shame on me & everyone associated for the gross deriliction. Since he's been here, our defense has held the opponent to under 20pts once (to a very bad Temple team, at DATCU).
  17. https://www.espn.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/name/ucf/season/2017 A "National Championship" season is what Scott Frost can do at the G5 level.
  18. Can he go ahead and come on up a little early? It's not easy to carve up Desoto & Guyer on back-to-back weeks.
  19. If FL fires Napier, I'd be happy taking him off their hands... for the same reasons I was on board with Fuente, and Brown (who wound up not being fired). Even though they're struggling at the P5 level, they showed they could succeed (bowl wins, conf championships, top25 rankings, etc...) at the G5 level.
  20. Had an entire offseason to rectify that problem... Chose to plow forward with the same guy.
  21. Wow. Thanks for resurrecting @jtm0097. This was a fun read. I was spitting fire. My only miss was that Deion was going to be a home run hire for Auburn or any other P5. The wheels are wobbling at CO, and once Sheduer and Travis Hunter leave... they'll likely come off. Congrats to all of those guys who were wanting Morris (hope this is what you wanted), and poo-poo'ing Barry Odom & GJ Kinne (y'all have been proven wrong). The guy who was bantered around on here more than anyone (and the guy I was championing along with Odom), is still somewhat available. Oh, and by the way, the team he's an "analyst" for, just curb-stomped UCLA today, to put them at 3-0 (with a combined score of 150-23). Coulda, shoulda, woulda, I guess.
  22. It was a roll that had to be made. SL's tenure became stale/lifeless. It appears we shot a 7.
  23. This should have been the call last year. I wonder if anyone reached out. Being the "highest paid G5 coordinator" should be a reason to consider leaving Nac.
