I'm tired of Denver pooping on coach Hedlund and the ladies' tourney dreams.

The WAC is now looking very weak. I would expect them to extend us another offer. If this happens, I hope RV continues his "wait & see" approach, and tables that offer. We have options! We will have to "wait & see" if BYU goes through with their threat, and if so, it's possible that the MWC would have more moves to make. I highly doubt that "wait & see" means "sit & do nothing". I'll bet RV has made a pitch or two to MWC officials. This is a possibility (albeit a very small possibility)! If the shakeups are ferocious enough and ConfUSA is affected, then we have yet another possibility open to us. We'll have to "wait & see". Folks, this is where our Interim President can make a HUGE difference for The University of North Texas. I'm thinking that with him at the helm at this time, we're in good shape. His connections are very well known, and this is not his first rodeo. And, when the smoke clears, if UNT is still in the Sun Belt, it is because that is the best place for us to be with the options we had (which none of us on GMG.com know). Trust in Lane. Trust in RV. I agree with the non-football sports. Utah & BYU are both strong programs top to bottom, and Utah has been a BCS buster lately, but as far as football goes, replacing Utah and (speculating) BYU with Boise St. is a wash IMO.

Didn't Boise State just join the MWC? Football-wise, adding them makes up for the loss of Utah and (possibly) BYU combined.

No way. TCU will not have the "Tailfeather/Eagles Wings/Flying V" section, so therefore their stadium will be less "big time". Also, their stadium is not in Denton on the campus of The University of North Texas, therefore it will always be inferior to ours.

I think the fear is that Dunbar got many many yards last year off of the zone read play. The zone read is definitely not going to work as well without Riley at QB and you would be nuts to disagree. However, I do agree with your assessment that the deep ball should provide a nice advantage to the disadvantage on the zone read. I think they cancel each other out. Expecting big things from Lance!

It's all of the above... not one or the other. While coaching has definitely been an issue, Dodge et al. can't go out there and catch the game winning touchdown pass in the Ohio game (2X), or kick a field goal, or prevent interceptions at critical game junctures. Player improvement is IMPERATIVE! Coaching improvement is IMPERATIVE!
