  1. Honest question here: Are coaches salaries determined by the MGC? I thought this was solely for student schollies (my impression). If No, then you lowered your giving to the scholarship fund for all student-athletes because of the product on the football field? This doesn't make much sense.
  2. I saw at least 3 missed tackles yesterday from Phillips that were just terrible. I like his potential, but he's got alot of improving to do.
  3. Craig was a rock on defense. He was the only guy tackling consistently. 11 total. 8 solo. Keep it up Craig!
  4. I agree with this. Especially after the SMU game at Ford. Meager should have finished out that season. Bad decision by Dodge. I couldn't disagree with this more. Vizza saw someone coming in with all kinds of accolades, got scared, cut & run. The guy is a tiddy-sucker and I'm glad he's gone. Vizza was not "run off" by anyone but his own cowardice.
  5. I think alot of these guys are playing not because Dodge enjoys burning redshirts, but because they are contributing/producing, or playing them was out of necessity: Orr - I love what I'm seeing out of this guy. Olen & Serano(who I thought already used a redshirt last year) - You have to try anything with this kicking game! Byrd - touted as having a fantastic camp and can contribute to the team this year. Wright - I'm not so sure we would have seen this guy if Ford didnt' go down. I think I agree with your argument that if Dodge were to be fired, he should step down immediately (lest black jerseys and the like show up), but I don't think Dodge would do/has done that kind of stuff as a great big middle-finger to the program/fans. Nothing in his history has demonstrated that.
  6. I'll bet you're right. If that's the case, then the heat really needs to be turned up on Riley himself. He's supposed to be a playmaking difference-maker...a guy you want with the ball. He definitely was not that guy yesterday.
  7. I've never ignored anyone on this site before....until now. Your technique is not working.
  8. Coach Canales calls the plays folks. Dunbar was not being ignored, Riley was running the zone ready (pretty much all he can do with his arm) and he kept reading that he should run instead of handing off to Dunbar. Maybe he is reading incorrectly, but again I ask, why on earth would Chico stick around if Dodge is sabotaging his playcalling?
  9. Gotta believe that if coach Dodge is sabotaging coach Canales' playcalling, then Chico would up & quit himself. These play calls are Chico's. Sorry folks.
  10. He's definitely not looking like an all-conference tackle.
  11. *Beat me to it GreenMean... Butch Davis assembled all of that talent at Miami(FL) that Coker won with. He also coached in the NFL (although his stint there was not as good). He's a heckuva coach.
  12. Fun is being had here, no?
  13. BUMP! C'mon people! You mean to tell me that you would like to have some washed-up dudes who've been out of coaching for a few years, or a headcase, pirate lover rather than an immortal immortal coach?
  14. New & Improved WilltoWin, Many big things happened prior your colossal 180 in philosophy. We need to revisit some of your stances: What are your thoughts on UNT joining the WAC? What are your thoughts on Dr. Battaille's resignation? What are your thoughts on the hiring of coach Canales? What are your thoughts on the aesthetics of the Business building? What are your thoughts on the phrase "Im not saying... I'm just saying"? What sucks? What do you want to do instead? Thanks in advance.
  15. I expect a UNT win this weekend. I think the make-or-break game is next weekend at FAU. If we can get back to 2-2, then we may be able to salvage the year. If we're 0-4, then yes, the team's confidence is probably shot and we'll only see 2-3 wins in SBC play followed by a blowout against KSt.
  16. I hate the Wave, but I don't know if I hate it as much as this guy... maybe I do. There's nothing that says... "Hey players we are supposed to be supporting, we're bored and dont give a crap about what you're doing. We need to create our own entertainment"... better than "The Wave". Total idiocracy. I just wish the cheerleaders and whoever those dudes are in the wranglers & white shirts would recognize 3rd & 4th down for OUR team is a time to be quiet, and 3rd & 4th down for the opposition is time to get rowdy. PLEASE!
  17. Thank you for your courage. Now, please accept this -1 from a Rangers fan due to your admission of openly rooting against the Rangers. It's like spanking your child. It hurts the parent more than the child. I still love you though.
  18. Zombie Landry made it into the Poll! He only has one vote though... C'mon folks, we gotta show Zombie Landry our support!
  19. Correct. Thanks Rudy for spelling this out after the hints did not work. In other news, Barry Switzer is still available for coaching! He has National Championships & a SuperBowl Ring!!
  20. Well, I think Tristan brings alot of energy to the court and a scoring prowess unmatched by anyone on the team... what is this thread doing in the FB forum?
  21. Bobby Bowden!?! Wait, if we're not aware of him, then how can we hire him? Welcome teamgreen!
  22. I like our offense against this defense. If our defense continues to play the way they have been, then I think we'll win. If our special teams can limit mistakes to 1 or less, then I think we could win going away. Of course, we can't count on any of those things, so I'm going to keep it close. Mean Green - 31 Army - 27 GO MEAN GREEN!
  23. I also think the coaches like what they see out of Orr, Johnson, Herron, and others, so the depth at LB is solid.
  24. Seymore Butts?
  25. So I'm seeing lots of different recommendations from you guys and some of these guys are not likely (ahem: Ditka?), but some are definitely attainable. I think we may be able to combine the attainable ones into one supercoach. How 'bout this Voltron coach? Black Lion coach: Zombie Tom Landry - This guy calls all the shots and a fedora does not go on an arm or leg, so he has to be the Black Lion sub-coach. Blue Lion coach: Ray - Ray is a lost Blue Heeler. He digs well, so this is good. Red Lion coach: Half cat - Half cat is real close with George Dunham, so he is a shoo-in. Green Lion coach: A racist - now some of you may not like this sub-coach, but lets give him 4 years to get his guys in here. Yellow Lion coach: A dark horse - Haven't you seen those Budweiser commercials where the Clydesdale kicks a field goal? We could definitely use a coach geared towards kicking, and with 4 legs, sub-coach Dark Horse would be the most qualified. ... This thread:
