  1. I happen to work for Mr. Perot and I can assure you he's no "kook wierdo". If he were elected president our money woes would have been gone long ago. Money falls into this mans lap, and once it does, he knows what to do with it. As a matter of fact, both times he ran he carried a few states. To throw Ross Perot in with Ralph Nader is beyond ridiculous.
  2. Hmm. OK. I hope that if coach Canales can run the table for the remainder of Sun Belt play if he would get a crack at KSU. Of course, running the table is a big IF...
  3. Zack Richardson: Prince:
  4. And so to be very clear for PMG's sake: UNTLifer, are you saying we need to hire coach Canales right now based off of his win against WKY? (I doubt you are, but if so, you would be 1 of only a handful of people who would say this, and that handfull includes Chico's family members/friends)
  5. OK. After twisting your arm, I think we wound up on the same page. I agree (and I think most of us here do as well) that the win over WKY does not vault coach Canales to frontrunner status. But, give him time to see what he can do here... I think he's due that consideration.
  6. ??? It's a simple question PMG: If Canales runs the table for the remainder of the year, would you consider him a frontrunner for HC?
  7. Practically the same excellence? Yes.
  8. we don't need mouth breathers.
  9. My vote in that poll is for Fran. I will stand by that vote. However, IF UNT were to win 3 of the remaining 4, I would waver on this. IF UNT were to win out, I think my mind would be changed. Is that fair? Would you be on board with this, or would you still like to run Chico off in favor of Fran, Leavitt, etc...?
  10. Agree. And looking at our member map, it appears there are very few people in DFW who live south of I-30.
  11. Oops. You're right. I think 5 games is enough as well.
  12. I'm so interested to watch this train wreck. To me, this will be the most epic GMG.com battle of all time. I've already started both of you on your way... -1 to each of you. Good luck be unto you both.
  13. I think a general consensus from most of us is: Let's see what coach Canales can do and compare with what the other coaching candidates have done/can do. We need a bigger sample from coach Canales. Personally, I think 6 games will be plenty. I'd love to see him win out and put the coaching search to bed myself. For now, this is still a possibility, but with each loss, his chances will get smaller and smaller.
  14. Ah, Good call. I guess it works... at least I hope so.
  15. But I guess my question is: If he is able to go now but the coaches intentionally hold him out, is he actually eligible for a medical redshirt? Seems like the NCAA would see that we are just trying to skirt around the rules and not allow him to have the redshirt? I could understand if he broke his leg and was out for the rest of the season, but if he's ready to go now...?
  16. I'm not saying that. I think I would rather lose every game every year in 1-a/FBS (think Eastern Michigan) than go back to 1-aa/FCS again. I think from where we are right now, a win against TROY would be a quality win. Do you disagree with that? Now, once we start beating everyone in the SBC again (because this WILL happen), creeping into the top 25 polls and such, then we can start talking about moving conferences and all of that stuff. Speak for yourself when becoming content if we win in the SBC. I would want to push for bigger and better things if we can win here consistently. The key word is consistently. Look at TCU, they're beating everyone pretty consistently now. In doing so, they're garnering interest from the Big East. Maybe they'll get an invite? Do you think they started out when Gary Patterson took over thinking, "What can we do to get to the Big East? Since, barometrically, we think we're on par with the Pitt's of the college football world." No. They took it a game at a time and built up a winner in the MWC. The rest will take care of itself for them. I know the University of North Texas can do the same thing.
  17. Oh wow. I hope this is a wake up call to the ladies. The slow start really hamstrung the ladies tonight.
  18. I can't agree with this more. Dominate the Belt like everyone's favorite comparison, Boise St. is dominating their conference, then we can talk about upgrading barometers to the non-mercury, all-digital barometer.
  19. What do y'all think? I'm going to say: UNT - 24 Troy - 34 It should be a good game, but I'm expecting Troy to be focused against us after what happened to them last week. MT lost last night, so they should have their sights back on the conf. championship. If Canales can get the guys ready to play and prove me wrong (I hope they do!), then this board will be crazy next week.
  20. After the Clemson game there were reports that he was out for the year. Then, there were reports that he would be ready after 6 weeks. Does anyone know if Steven Ford is ready to return? If so, will he, or will they try and get him a redshirt? Can you get a medical redshirt if you are healthy enough to play but the coaching staff holds you out? Obviously, by starting the Clemson game, a normal redshirt is out the window...
  21. As nice as it would have been to land him, I'd rather have Jarion... Make it happen JJ!
  22. Dodge was held to that standard. He couldn't do it, so his termination was justifiable. Why not Canales? Are you worried that he cannot do it? Why don't we just wait and find out if he's up to that challenge or not? If he's a good coach and can get the guys on the team to respond to him, then they'll win. In that scenario, PLEASE give coach Canales a very serious look. If he cannot, they'll lose 3 or more and we need to look elsewhere.
  23. No. Dodge brought Canales here.
  24. Definitely need a bottom 20.
  25. NT80 is not the only one who has said this...
