  1. This is pretty bad, but didn't SMU's ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT pay their players? To me, that's way worse than a booster paying players. These sanctions should be MUCH worse than Southern Cal's though, but to get the Death Penalty like SMU, there should be some evidence that improper benefits came from within the AD.
  2. Fuzzy's is on Industrial, right next to Dan's Silver Leaf. Love Shack is right around the corner on Hickory, between the square and Industrial.
  3. No Bobby, they sure don't! 2010: Rush Attempts / Rush Yards / Yards/Carry / Rushing TD / Receptions / Rec. Yards / Yards/Catch / Rec. TD Lance Dunbar: 274 / 1553 / 5.7 / 13 / 28 / 332 / 11.9 / 3 Bobby Rainey: 340 / 1649 / 4.9 / 15 / 29 / 230 / 7.9 / 0 Looks like Lance gets it done to the tune of almost 1 yard more per carry and, gulp, 4 more yards per catch! Lance Dunbar for the Doak! Bobby Rainey for... uh... most touches!
  4. Doesn't SMU trot out a miniature pony during their games? How could that thing kill any other team's mascot unless they were playing Georgia Tech or something?
  5. We don't have room for those here brah.
  6. Going along with these, is there any interest from (or has he reached out to) other teams regarding home-home series?
  7. I see where you're going here... How 'bout this: Student side starts with, "SON!" Alumni side responds with, "OF!" Then, in unison, "WORM!" Repeat 3-5 times, then let it die slowly and miserably. That will certainly confuse the opposition and let Rick V. know we want the SOW all over the uniforms, helmets, & tattoo'd on each player's arm and/or face.
  8. It's sounding like most of it is going to academics, so watch for the meathead/zealot posters to get on here and wonder why at least half of it is not for athletics.
  9. Yeah, and your birth certificate!
  10. Which is exactly why we would need the indoor stocked tank. They say, "you fish how you practice", and if you can't set the hook, you can't catch a fish.
  11. It looks like you are fantastic at using the internet to connect dots. You should take your talents to the Pie forum.
  12. I'm excited about seeing a healthy Steven Ford this year at CB. Hopefully, he is as-advertised. I think Royce is a proven commodity. McCord will get plenty of reps and he is certainly able. I think the guy to watch here is RS Freshman Hilbert Jackson. I would really like to see him step up this year. I think these guys should do well if, as stated above, we get some pressure on the QB from our front 7. Shorter seemed to really put it together at the end of last year. If he can carry that momentum into this fall, I wouldn't have any problems starting him over Cook. Downing was an able safety last year, but I think Graham is ready to step up and show why he was the JuCo defensive player of the year. If Swarn/Warner/Washington/Marshall get on the field this year, it would be a plus, but hopefully they would get to play a bunch. Otherwise, I hope they get redshirts. I think Laramie will need a redshirt.
  13. I've never seen a pack mentality bit before. Great job guys! Keep up the funny stuff!
  14. You're probably right, but I'm pretty sure that A&M brought majority of this on themselves. Surely there was some sort of talks with the SEC (and hopefully there was some sort of invite) right? If not, then it only reinforces the Aggie stereotypes. It would be like one of us getting upset with our jobs because the "team lead" just ahead of us, that we're obsessed with hating, is getting his own column in the company newsletter, then causing a scene while storming out of the office to go work for the bigger competitor, only to find that the bigger competitor is not hiring. What would be sad is if the SEC said they wanted A&M, then changed their mind...
  15. If anything, it will dig us out of the 3rd place rut we're in as far as the SBC "Bubba's Cup" goes. Currently, we get 0 points for the baseball category.
  16. Good thing he splurged a little for the one with the spray-hose attachment, else showering would be just about impossible and his chances with micahgb would be just a dream.
  17. I'm no accountant or anything, but that sounds like the same sort of thinking that got the U.S. (as well as millions of Americans) in trouble. We have an $80mil stadium to pay off, and we now have capital to go toward it, but instead we earmark some of that money for other things? Of course, I trust the UNT accounting program, so hopefully we get a few of those guys to break this down and not get us in financial trouble. If we do indeed have a little extra money, I would also LOVE to see Mean Green Baseball!
  18. I assume you mean Mean Joe Greene? Maybe you mean this guy though...?
  19. I never understood the flack for point #4. The Texas Governor's mansion was burned down. Why would we not build a new one?
  20. Looks like Trey Norris 2.0 Cooley, can you shed some light on Brandon? On a side note, do we still have Scrappy03 or HoopmanX still lurking?
  21. This is HUGE news that just happens to be buried in the excitement of a $20mil donation to our new stadium. My only concern is that he is still reporting to (and taking orders from) Lee Jackson. Hopefully, he can convince Jackson that UNT-Denton is the cash cow that can fund UNT-Dallas. Invest in Denton and let the rewards trickle down to Dallas.
  22. This money is not for AD operations am I correct? It goes 100% to the stadium... at least, it should. The student fee can only pay for 1/2 of the stadium. Don't look for the end of 'body bag' games, coaching raises, and a brand new baseball stadium next month. This money should be allocated 100% to the stadium with the donor's name on it.
  23. I think, with them being a ResNet company, they are hitting their target audience on the nose. Great choice for them, and they won't regret it. You think other colleges will know who they are? Now, they'll be reminded of them any time NT football is playing at home. Hopefully, within 20 years, we'll consistently be on TV, which will only help them even more. Welcome to the team Apogee. Go Mean Green!
