Getting Tired of Running QB Point

Oh SNAP! -
You're absolutely right. They took us to task during the regular season. Now look back on last season's SBC tournament road.

Nice to see that blatant racism is alive and well on their board!

Getting Tired of Running QB Point

Agreed. If you're not playing to win the game (no matter who's redshirt gets burned), what are you doing? -
Better check that...

Report Cards for New Coaches
MeanGreenTexan replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
Freeze reeks of Todd Dodge smell. Remember the SMU/Navy games? He has that same kind of system offensively... He just also happens to have a decent DC that could hold a horrible Memphis team at bay. Soon, AKSt. fans will be asking themselves how an offense that rolled up 611 yards against Memphis can only muster 201 yards of offense against Army... AKSt. may beat us this year, but give coach Bowen time to figure out play calling tendencies and their offense will be beatable. -
Are you guys gonna fight? Or are you gonna do it? What's happening here? You need to define this relationship.

Spoke with Coach Leonard

You know... I would probably be on board with you if even just one of last year's big 3 were coming back this season. They're gone now. "And as for "rolling to an SBC championship game win.": Do you recall last season (again, a team loaded with TALENT & EXPERIENCE), we rolled into the SBC championship game? I mean, we ROLLED into that game. The guys were on a mission. The day of that game, I was getting money in order and looking at scheduling time off because I was absolutely positive we would be playing as a 15 seed in Tulsa. I was even smack-talking a UT co-worker of mine on who has the REAL Tristan Thompson because it was probably going to be against them. No way UALR beats us, conference POY or not... Well, needless to say, I was disappointed. Temper your expectations sir. This years team certainly has the makings of being great. I don't think anyone is arguing with you about that. I just don't want to see you on a ledge if the team underperforms to your expectations. -
Alabama game thoughts?
MeanGreenTexan replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
We're very proud of our Doak Walker hopeful Lance Dunbar. We have a pretty nice TE that has scored a TD (in one way or another) in both games. Our QB has all of 3 games worth of experience and our o-line is starting 2 freshmen. Our wide receivers have under-impressed so far this year, save for a young man named Brelan Chancellor. I'm sure you will hear his name called a few times on Saturday. On defense, arguably our best player, OLB Jeremy Phillips, was injured last week and will not be on the field in Tuscaloosa. Our D-line has trouble getting pressure on the QB, but the outside pass rush is pretty quick. If they can get around your tackles, they will cause disruption. Our secondary is pretty decent, but due to the lack of pass rush will break down often. Watch for Royce Hill (CB) to cover Maze fairly well. As for Richardson, he will probably be shadowed all day by our MLB, Zach Orr. Zach will probably top 15 tackles in this game as I anticipate Richardson getting shoved down our throats. You will be surprised by our punter (which I'm certain you will see quite often), Will Atteberry. He has been absolutely BOOMING the ball this year. Chancellor (the WR mentioned above) is an electric return man. He can make things happen when he touches the ball. Hope that helps... I'm sure my GMG.com bretheren can help me fill in any gaps. Go Mean Green! -
It's like predicting the number of casualties from a train wreck. No one wants to do it, but someone is going to be pretty close to the final numbers. Surely some of the GMG.com family believes we can win (I'm looking at you KRAM!)... I'm not one of those: NT - 10 Bama - 52 No injuries please! Lance runs for over 100 yds. Brelan continues to impress (however Brelan goes balls-to-the-wall 100% of the time, so he is probably the one I'm most concerned with getting injured).

Outgunned, Outmanuevered, Outstanding

I think you're right save for the Tulsa game. I think GJ Kinne may be the 2nd best QB we see this year behind Case. -

I think this stupid argument can be summed up in 4 words: Can we? Will we? *Edit: Oh, and if JJ doesn't win at least 20 games and get us to AT LEAST the sweet 16, he should be drawn & quartered. -
Just wait for him to laugh and punch him in the mouth. The pants will fall and you don't stop punching until he goes down.

I think all of our hearts believe we'll go to the NCAA tournament, just like all of our hearts believe we'll be bowling this year in football. However, our minds are capable of interpreting facts... like for instance, our 4 best players from last years team graduated and we'll be relying on transfers and freshmen (who have never played together, save rec/pickup games) to gel in 1 season. Tony Mitchell or not, that is much more easily said than done. If you "GUARANTEE" a spot in the NCAA tourney, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. If you "think" or "hope" we get a spot, then you're with the rest of us! There are some reasons to believe we will. Unfortunately, there are some reasons to belive we won't. -
How'd Your Adopted Player Perform?
MeanGreenTexan replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Football
My man, Zach Orr, had 9 tackles (5 solo). He also had a pick in the 4th Quarter. He does it all. -
Look, some folks just like a sleepy lil' ol' Denton. Personally, I'll roux the day.

Wish I could have sat down and chatted... Lesson learned: 9 month olds won't make it past the 3rd quarter of a 6pm kickoff without letting everyone know she's not happy. We'll have a babysitter for the IU game.

You can only expect DB's to cover wide recievers for a certain amount of time. When the D-Line & blitzers are blocked, and Keenum moves around in the pocket like a heisman contender, coverage will break down. The times he was hurried, he threw several incompletions. What are you guys expecting? If we get better pressure up front, Keenum has to make the throws earlier. Our DB's are probably still covering, and maybe we get a different result. I noticed Warner on the field alot last night. There will be growing pains when he is.
