I totally agree with this. Lance can't run the ball? OK. Lance can catch the ball, then run.

My boy Zach Orr had 8 total tackles, but only 2 solo. he also had 1.5 TFL including a sack for a 5 yd loss. Seemed like he was all over the field.

I hope so too... and like Tasty said, anyone's best guess is only that. I guess the game 1 starting lineup really comes down to what JJ wants as far as philosophy: If he wants to start the game on fire with scorers on the floor, we may see something like: 1. Norris 2. Jones 3. J. Williams 4. Franklin 5. Hogans If he wants to set a defensive tone early on, maybe something like: 1. Jones 2. A. Williams 3. Franklin 4. Patton 5. Hogans All in all, I think the only person on the roster today who has a starting spot locked-down (unless injuries derail him prior to the season) would be Hogans.

I mean, this is really a no-brainer. If the choices are LHN or no TV, give me the game on LHN.

like Tulsa (X2), Rice (X2), Ball State, Army (2X), Ohio, & Indiana? I think the schedules over the past 3-4 years have been super balanced and have provided UNT with all kinds of opportunities to win. We've only capitalized once though.

Not to pile onto my already air-tight case , but we also lost last season's best defender to graduation in under-heralded G Shannon Shorter. We are DEFINITELY going to need to find his replacement before conference starts. I'm assuming if Alzee comes back healthy, it's him. If not, then we're all in for a surprise (be it a new player steps up, or we don't have that defensive stopper on the roster & get lit up by opposing scorers).

I'm totally with you on that. I think PG is definitely a shaky position this year. Josh White will be a HOF'er and Dominique Johnson was a great 6th man. Now, we're looking at starting Chris Jones with Norris backing him up? I don't know what Alzee's, or Walton's roles will be, but they could also play that combo guard role, a-la-Dom. Should be fun to watch though!

Some of these guys would make our friend in Euless look like Oskar Schindler.
