Louisville fans on suicide watch after jilted by Big12
MeanGreenTexan replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
Louisville seems like it would pull just as many TV's as Morgantown. You can't count on all of Pittsburgh to jump on board WVU's train just because it is somewhat close. I think Louisville is a better pick honestly... I wonder what happened to talks with BYU? Seems BYU or Air Force would be a better choice for the big12-2. -

Zetas? See. It all goes back to the greeks. -
Preseason All-SBC Teams Anyone who thinks that Mitchell is going to pound the entire conference should attend the AKSt. game and take a road trip to S. Alabama. He's not playing against himself. There are very good players in this conference. Edit: And how could I forget Thomas? Although I think he's kindof in a "diamond surrounded by trash" scenario. They lost a lot of good players last year... sound familiar?

Are you sure?

If anyone thought Power was not getting enough touches... just wait until this game. He is probably going to be dedicated to double-teaming Massaquoi.

Beat WKU & MTSU then upset AK St or Troy then we are Bowl Bound
MeanGreenTexan replied to Tree's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree, I just don't think it occurs this weekend. -
I hope he's 100% next week because we are going to need his speed chasing Aplin around. I guess a 80-90% AK is better than not having him though...

Beat WKU & MTSU then upset AK St or Troy then we are Bowl Bound
MeanGreenTexan replied to Tree's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't think so. I think our better chance is to sweep the final 3 games of the season. Very do-able, looking at Troy. Of course, if we beat ASU @ Jonesboro, then I think our chances of actually sweeping the final 3 games is much better. Disrespectfully, we are both teams' homecoming games. If we lose next weekend, I don't think it's the end of our bowl hopes. -
World Series
MeanGreenTexan replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
All I can ask with Carpenter on the mound is that CJ stays with him through 6 innings. The Rangers have to work the counts and make Carp throw a bunch of pitches. Hopefully get a few hits/runs off him. THEN, get to their bullpen, where it's open season! -
We brought our daughter to the Houston game. Pregame and the first half were very fun with her, but she got cranky halfway through the 3rd quarter and we had to leave. Needless to say, after that, we resigned to having family babysit for us.

Thompson begins to capitalize on potential
MeanGreenTexan replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
No doubt Thompson turned in the performance of his career this weekend... but I'm still a little nervous with him back there. I hope he can build on this win. If he can consistently play at this level, there's no reason the Mean Green can't win out. Next weekend will be a big challenge to continue playing well, on the road against the best team in the conference. AKSt. is not just a flavor of the month, like ULL (and who can explain FIU's collapse?). They're very good. -
Please, enlighten us on how to post.

I saw a pretty good exodus after the 3rd quarter... then, I saw another one after the Herron TD. Then, a mass purge after Dunbar's run. I wonder if those were the folks that would have stayed home if the gametime stayed at 6:00. If so, GOOD CALL RV! Obviously, alot of those folks would have left early anyway "to beat the traffic", so I guess we'll never know...

What's Up with the Concessions?

The Super Nachos are awesome. -
Exactly. The students can say/do what they want... I don't like that they're doing that, but it is what it is. I know my words on a message board will never mean anything to them. That's why I pay money to sit on the alumni side. Now, if this "MF'ing" addition were to ever catch on over on my side of the field, I will certainly discontinue my tickets/MGC membership (and I don't think I've ever made that threat before) without thinking twice. "You let the whole team down"...? I've still never heard this chant yet. So you guys may want to pick it up a little. Actually, I've never heard the "MF'ing" addition at the football games either, so it must not really be catching on over there either. The only time I've ever heard it was during b-ball games, and I just shook my head. Oh, and as far as the North...Texas chant? It seems like the student section is more than happy to do this with themselves, split down the 50? Maybe because the alumni side have never really been prompted to start it... at least, not where I sit. If I had a chance to partake, I certainly would.

Standing on the alumni side and watching the students storm the field brings a smile to my face... against Indiana. Storming the field against ULM, I felt, was stupid. Oh well, let the students be students... if they think a win against ULM warrants a storming of the field, then whatever. I hope this behavior ends soon because we are expecting wins. I think the idea to storm the field after every win is absurd. Please students reading the board, don't do that.

If you look deeper into the European debt crisis, especially the Greek debt crisis, you'll see that it originated when the government began liberally (re: irresponsibly) handing out posters to Greek citizens. Now, they're all reliant upon the government for their posters. Let's not fall into that trap. Just win games.

You're mixing classes sir. The Frenchman and Mitchell will be playing this upcoming season. Odoh is joining the team for the 2012-2013 season.
-
Not sure if you've been over to the Alumni side, but during every opposition 3rd & 4th down, my section is almost deafening. When Herron jumped on AK's fumble and took it to the house, it was very rowdy. I think this thread is full of way too many uneducated generalizations.

That first one of Bynes about to haul in one of his TD's is really good!
