  1. Yeah, I bet Todd Graham would love to come back to the DFW!
  2. Although you may be right, they would never live down hiring CU's "sloppy seconds". They would probably rather hire Todd Dodge than Dan Hawkins or any other fired CU coach. This ain't intramurals brother!
  3. When someone who has identified themself as a student speaks this frankly about players, it usually means they are buddies with another player or players. Take his comments with a grain of salt, but I wouldn't dismiss them. I certainly hope Cam Feldt does not believe he'll walk right into our starting rotation without putting in work. I guess we'll have to see come Spring Practice...
  4. Bingo. Let's not bury the real story here folks! There is hope...
  5. Remember that super fast 3* guy from New Orleans via Oklahoma? He had blazing speed but had skillets for hands... Yeah, I don't remember him either.
  6. Because nothing says "BIG EAST" like San Diego State University!
  7. I'm tired of reading this thread's title at the top of my new content. This isn't breaking news!!!!1! *Mods, please change the name of this thread to "Tired Old News". Thank you.
  8. The NFL has a playoff, so this argument does not hold water. Really, there is no right or wrong answer to the NC game because it's rigged by the BCS. LSU VS Alabama or LSU VS OKSt... whatever, doesn't matter, BCS has gotta go.
  9. Gonna be awesome to watch this guy patrol the defensive backfield for the next few years. Wasn't he a starting ST player at OU? If so, he can probably crush skulls too. Maybe all of us Buckles/Jones fans will finally be satisfied?
  10. I thought he was going for 16K...
  11. 2011 UNT Football Award Winners Odus Mitchell , Team MVP - Lance Dunbar Steve Ramsey, Outstanding Offensive Player - Lance Dunbar Joe Greene, Outstanding Defensive Player - Brandon Akpunku Abner Haynes, Outstanding Special Teams Player - Will Atteberry JaQuay Wilbrun, Outstanding Offensive Back - James Hamilton Phillip Armour, Outstanding Offensive Lineman - Matt Tomlinson Byron Gross, Outstanding Linebacker - Zach Orr Bill Brashier, Outstanding Defensive Back - Royce Hill Bill Bishop, Outstanding Defensive Lineman - Brandon Akpunku Shawn Kramer, Most Inspirational - Troy Kokjohn
  12. My Boy Zach Orr had a fantastic year and actually led the team in tackles (74 total) despite missing the final 3 1/2 games of the year with a broken leg! Ouch! Zach was easily the linchpin of the Mean Green defense this season and I believe, had he been healthy, would have held Rainey to fewer yards and possibly a UNT win in the W.KY game. The injury should not keep him off of one of the SBC all-conference teams. Probably not the first team, although he was certainly on his way to 1st team all-conference... Very nice year for Orr. Bummer about the injury, but I do look forward to adopting him again and watching him punish opposition for the next 2 years! Proud of you Zach! Get well soon. See you next year! Edit: Looks like I need to get a pic of Zach up here:
  13. Yes, he said that, but he has to. He's not going to come in here and say, "Thanks to UNT for giving me this job, and I'm looking at it as a stepping stone to a more recognizable job! I can't wait for the upcoming opportunity, but in the meantime, UNT will do." I think if an AQ school came calling for McCarney, he would bolt. Hope I'm wrong though!
  14. Can you imagine the stadium if UNT were to take out LSU next year? The second UNT beats a team that EVERYONE (not just a bunch of football fanatics on a message board) knows, the stadium will be full and all of this talk will probably go the other way... "Where did all these fair-weather fans come from? I hate all of these UNT douches!", "I tried to park in the red/blue lot this weekend, but it was fuller than normal and I had to park very far away from the stadium. I'm cancelling my MGC membership because there's nothing in it for me!" "I tried to have a beer before the game at the Alumni Pavillion, but it was too full, so I'm never going back there again!" This is going to happen at some point. I promise. Just wait... Don't worry, there will ALWAYS be something to complain about! You older guys that are arguing with students... chill. out.
  15. Just watch the sunglasses...
  16. If for no other reason, THIS!
  17. Nice win by the ladies. Very impressed with them so far this year!
  18. I've been watching Senior Day since before it was at Apogee. Now that it's at Apogee, it's not cool anymore. /Hipster'd
  19. I enjoyed the classic first part of this, then I almost had to throw my computer out the window when all that hip hop came on. The only thing that saved your display was that all-american country music at the end.
  20. I was under the impression that Dodge improved academics... Weren't we under APR penalties until his final season, when we finally had all of our scholarships? If academics were this terrible AFTER he left, imagine how bad they were when he got here?
  21. And this week's pseudo home game against the 4-win Cardinals team should also result in another empty win. Cupcake schedule is helping the Cowboys right now. The only way the Cowboys win their first round playoff game is if it's at home.
  22. What is the line on this game? UNT by 20?
  23. I think the reasoning around here was that no other Texas public university would take him while he had a suit against the state. Other universities can have at him... and apparently, someone finally did. Judging from the size of his contract, UNT never had a shot at the pirate anyway, and that's OK with me.
  24. Hope this dude sticks around. He's from the same high school as Darius Carey, so you know he's getting all the dirt on the program... I hope our coaches stay in contact with him constantly to dispel any of that.
