  1. Ha! Was this before or after an FIU player (like a little girl) slapped him in the face?
  2. I'll humbly eat these Humble Pies, but if you believe we're going to win against FAU, I'll order you the world famous #1 "Certifiable" from Cathy's Crazy Custards store in Tioga. The #2, "Loco", is actually more like Flan, but it's not bad.
  3. Probably wouldn't take you very long to dig that up... They're everywhere, sadly. Funny story (not really): Some lady was out "training" her yellow lab yesterday when my wife and daughter got out of the car. The dog began growling and barking ferociously at my daughter. Luckily, the dog was leashed. She said to the dog in a mocking voice, "Oh, you're all talk...", then turns to my wife and says, "We're trying to train her to be good around small kids". Ha!
  4. This thread has gone on for 30 pages. 30 PAGES! You boneheads are talking like you could actually trust these guys (Republican candidates or Pres. Obama). You can't trust any of these guys! They say what they think you want to hear if you're in their audience. Drop Pres. Obama into a room full of Tea Party folks, and he's going to try and sound moderate. Put pres. Obama in a room full of Occupiers, and he's going to sound very left. The same patronization would spew from any of the Republican candidates. None of these men are running for President for the betterment of our country. They're not really looking out for you and me. None of us are at the top of their priority list. They are looking out for themselves and their massive egos.
  5. You sir, are what we on the basketball board like to refer to as, a dreamer. Keep dreaming! I'm hoping we don't get embarassed by at least 30 pts tonight.
  6. Buy N.O. Bowl tickets? or maybe even Fiesta/Sugar Bowl tickets?
  7. I bet there will be a few folks at Ryan who will remember Scotty and how good he was. If he came to UNT, I'm sure Ryan kids would take at least a closer look at UNT.
  8. I think you'll find that the old folks on here dislike SMU because they were instrumental in keeping UNT out of the old Southwest Conference a long time ago, thus relegating us to insignificance for years and eventually a trip to D-IAA for a short time. This hatred is deep and immovable. I think you'll find that the young folks on here dislike SMU for a myriad of insignificant reasons... But just about all of us dislike SMU for the superiority complex that many SMU fans/alums have towards UNT fans/alums. You sir, sound like the exception to this rule. Thanks for stopping by.
  9. Until someone posts what Max Emfingers says, I'm done with these rankings!!!!!1!
  10. I'm actually glad they're on the bench with the team. They still need to be a part of the team. They need to be there to cheer on & encourage their teammates. They need to stew on the bench at how they could be contributing. And they're still getting coached as well. Edit: even though I disagreed, I wouldn't -1 that.
  11. Pretty sure they would already be there by now if they were going to do that. No use in wasting time sitting at UNT if they plan on going JUCO/transfer.
  12. We had no one to match with Dendy. If he hadn't been in as much foul trouble as Tony, the margin would have been much worse. Once he got in the lane, he was pretty much a head taller than everyone else in there with easy access to a short jumper or put-back on the offensive end, or an easy rebound on the defensive end. Ked couldn't answer, Zo couldn't answer, Niko couldn't answer, and even Tony had a hard time with him.
  13. Saw Trice at the b-ball game last night. The dude is built like a tree stump. He's almost as wide as he is tall (and not in a fat kind of way, he's straight muscle). If he still has his speed and ups, he's going to hurt people while playing safety this year.
  14. Oh, probably talk about conference re-alignment, uniforms, billboards, pageantry, helmet stickers, conference re-alignment, SMU, wind turbines, spring practice, Bret Vito's agenda, AD's competency, and conference re-alignment. Or, Venture over to the basketball board and enjoy a little sanity mixed with some hip-hop. Comprende?
  15. He wanted to be here, but we did not have a scholly for him. We're grayshirting 3 guys already. Either he would be #4, or he would have been a walk-on... OR, He could take a scholarship to Lamar! I think he made a good choice. Good get!
  16. OK. So if one or more don't qualify academically, then these grayshirts can be burned right?
  17. I believe Freddie was a Tech decommit.
  18. If we're counting on other schools to fill 20% or more of our stadium as a long-term plan, then we are doing something VERY WRONG. Do you disagree with that?
  19. I've always loved bigger dogs. We went to the pound one day... and she found us. We played with her on site for a while and decided we wanted her. That was it. No research necessary. That was almost 6 years ago. This is a great story! I'm not a hunter, so I'm not looking for a specific skillset in my dog... just a great companion to share with my family, who loves my family as much as I do. I have that dog. It sounds like you have it too. Our friends are not scared to come to our house. LOL! Several of our friends have small children as well, and we've changed tons of minds on the breed; something I was hoping to do here, but I keep forgetting I'm on GoMeanGreen.com, home of iron-clad opinions. I really happen to think (and pre 1970 American society also thought) that Pit Bulls as a whole are a lot more like mine than the ones that everyone is so scared of. There are tons of people in your boat. I suppose I don't know what to say that I haven't already said, or you want to hear? I've been called a fool a few times in this thread. There are probably several more who thought it. I can tell you this: When the unfortunate day comes... , I know I'll choose a Pit Bull again.
  20. Getting Ked back would be huge. Get well soon big fella!
  21. I think there's a disconnect between my point and yours. In general, are large dogs more "dangerous" than small dogs? Sure! The size of the dog obviously makes them more powerful. I don't fear any dog. Yorkie or otherwise. There's no psychological hang-up. LOL! My dog has not once ever snapped at me or anyone, so I'm not concerned about her at all. If your Yorkie has ever snapped at you or anyone for any reason, I would be more concerned about your dog than mine. Not everyone can reach into their dogs bowl while eating and take food away without at least getting a growl... I can. Is your Yorkie going to kill my 1 yr old? Probably not, but the minor flesh wound is not something I would be happy about. This is what I'm saying is incorrect... and again, I'm no fool! Mine is not dangerous to any human, other dogs/animals? That's a different story. But when we walk her or let her around other dogs, it's never without a leash. I'm sure there are thousands of others out there just like mine. But, this is the stigma that they and people like me have to fight (no pun intended).
  22. To put this all in perspective, I usually keep a goatee because I was attacked by a dog as a child and have scars on my lip. It was a lab mix. I still love labs too! I'm not naive to dog attacks. I'm not unsympathetic to pitbull attacks, or any other dog attack for that matter. Those dogs should be put down. I'm just trying (maybe in vain) to enlighten some on pit bulls. They're not all ferocious animals on the prowl looking for fresh meat or something as the media would have us think. As a matter of fact, my dog is a Mean Green fan!
  23. No hyperbole/sarcasm. I'm fully aware of the size differential. I'm trying to get the point across that not all pit bulls are killig machines... as a matter of fact, only a small sample is (albeit the media covers the heck out of that small sample size). To me, if your dog is neglected, his/her ability to inflict a minor flesh wound is more worrisome than my own dog, who I KNOW would never even do that to my child or any other child or person. Now, if I leave her outside all day and night, maybe don't feed her as often or pet her as much... in a few years/months/weeks (who knows), her demeanor changes and that threat becomes very real. But I love my dog too much for that scenario to ever play out.
