  1. I think Tony Mitchell qualifies as a "go to" guy every millisecond he is on the floor.
  2. I think there are 3 burning questions for a bunch of us on here: 1. How are talks with C-USA/MWC/Alliance conference leaders going? 2. How close are we to adding baseball? 3. Are you striving to add another home game next year, or is the 2012 schedule set? Then there are 3 others: 1. Has Benson aproached you on your opinions of TX St./UTSA/LA. Tech? 2. Are you looking at real estate around Hattiesburg, MS? 3. When are we going to get the University to update the Super Pit?
  3. I can't speak for everyone here, but my reasoning for not wanting to be in the same conference with either of them is because I would rather be in the "Alliance" conference, which will probably not have TX St. or UTSA... Not because I feel superior to those schools "like smu treated us". And I'll keep saying: aside from 2 sections, we should not need any school's help in filling Apogee. Gotta get a winner on the field and get some quality opponents in Denton. The stands will be full of Green if those 2 things come together.
  4. OK. Gotcha. I certainly believe the visitor sections would be full for TX St. I don't know about Tulsa, Rice, or UTSA, but I bet they would be pretty full. If what has been repeated here on GMG.com by guys like Greenminer is true about UTEP's alumni base in DFW, I bet they would fill up their section of Apogee. I think the problem is that once UNT is in the same conference as UTSA and/or TX St., it would mean that we didn't make it into the "Alliance". We shouldn't be striving to be in the same conference with 2 new FBS schools (one of which just played their innaugural season of football last year). I highly doubt the new "Alliance" conference will take TX St. seriously, and I certainly hope UNT is more alluring than UTSA.
  5. Again; If UNT focuses on building rivalries with local schools BECAUSE THE SCHOOLS WILL BRING MORE FANS TO APOGEE, then we are doing something very wrong. We need UNT fans to fill Apogee, not opposing fans. Ideally, the only opposing fans at Apogee would be sitting in sections 124 & 125. The rest of the stadium would be sold out and wearing Green. The correct thought process needs to be: "What schools will bring the most UNT fans out to watch the Mean Green play?" Now, answering that question is tough. Will more UNT fans show up for TX St. over Rice? Who knows?
  6. I think it depends on where we end up: If we eventually move up to "the Alliance", then neither. If we stay in the Sun Belt, then TX St. only, or neither.
  7. This sir, is the million dollar question. The first step is to throw logic out the window. Then, your guess is as good as anyone else's.
  8. Shut up CMJ!!!1! I'm not ready to talk about that yet.
  9. Now we're combining conference re-alignment with uniform talk!
  10. Can we just send in Seal Team 6 (minus the crashed helicopter) to implant a microchip in ahmadinejad's head to make him a puppet ruler? Seems like everyone wins in that scenario.
  11. That's preceisely my argument. But, this has been his tactic in the past.
  12. Ugh. Why does every thread that remotely resembles conference re-alignment turn into another TSU-SM & UTSA thread? Is it really a surprise to anyone that Benson would go after C-USA teams to join the belt? This was his tactic when he was with the WAC. He continually targeted UNT to join the WAC after being repeatedly shot down by RV. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, but Benson has been searching for his for quite a while now. I hardly believe a C-USA team will join the Belt unless something drastic happens like a school gets kicked out.
  13. Yeah, but how many of those venues serve Beth Maries? PICK UP THE PHONE RV!!!
  14. Sure. I mean, once you start in with high-proof liquors, it doesn't take much to get you bit...whereas you'd have to smoke a whole bunch of weed to get to the same levels. I'm aware of alcohol's affects on people, sadly. I'm saying though, I can have a Shiner (12oz bottle) or a full glass of wine and not feel much, if anything at all. If I drank 12oz of tequila, it would be much different. I'd probably be passed out or worse. I don't know what the equivalent of a bottle of beer or a full glass of wine is when we're talking about marijuana though. Is it a full joint? Half a joint? One puff? I've never heard of anyone smoking because they like the taste or the nose. I've only heard of one reason, and that's to get high. I'm probably naive though. Lots of people drink to get drunk. To me, this scenario would be where your comparisons gain merit. Otherwise, they're still very different to me.
  15. I'm very surprised to hear that, honestly. Still very skeptical though.
  16. I've never been drunk, but I love beer & wine. There are people out there (albeit not many) who are like me. So, FACT: Not everyone who drinks gets drunk. I've never been high either. The difference is (from my understanding), there's no other reason to smoke marijuana other than to get high. Is this correct, or is there a way to smoke half a joint or something and only get less than buzzed? If so, do people actually do this? My guess would be no. So, although this argument is brough up incessantly, it is not equal.
  17. TFLF has definitely been one of my favorite posters ever since he did an about face on UNT football when Coach Canales was hired in early 2010. Since then, his enthusiasm rivals that of KRAM1.
  18. MeanGreenBob: OR ???
  19. Reading Elvert's posts keep me mentally sharp while also dumbing me down a little.
  20. Then by golly, lets get Pres. Rawlins a raise too! Let the fun begin!
  21. HIGHLY doubtful. OU's visitor section would be sold out at Apogee. Maybe they would get some spots in the wingzone and they may be able to buy some tickets off Stubhub or something, but I would venture to say that the crowd would easily be 2/3 Mean Green fans, if not more.
  22. Sweet! I'm on board with this, but I'm sure there are some folks out there who will not be happy about this...
  23. 3 quick observations: 1. WHOA! Trice is really quick. Really, really quick...Like he's on another level quick. 2. Antonio Johnson is slow. 3. Was that my boy Zach Orr winning all of those 1-on-1 tug-of-wars?
