  1. Wow. Thanks for resurrecting @jtm0097. This was a fun read. I was spitting fire. My only miss was that Deion was going to be a home run hire for Auburn or any other P5. The wheels are wobbling at CO, and once Sheduer and Travis Hunter leave... they'll likely come off. Congrats to all of those guys who were wanting Morris (hope this is what you wanted), and poo-poo'ing Barry Odom & GJ Kinne (y'all have been proven wrong). The guy who was bantered around on here more than anyone (and the guy I was championing along with Odom), is still somewhat available. Oh, and by the way, the team he's an "analyst" for, just curb-stomped UCLA today, to put them at 3-0 (with a combined score of 150-23). Coulda, shoulda, woulda, I guess.
  2. It was a roll that had to be made. SL's tenure became stale/lifeless. It appears we shot a 7.
  3. This should have been the call last year. I wonder if anyone reached out. Being the "highest paid G5 coordinator" should be a reason to consider leaving Nac.
  4. **Double-checks today’s score.** **Takes another drink.** All of that. Right now, I miss all of that. Right now, I’m not sure Morris & co. can accomplish any of that.
  5. The OC at Oklahoma is killing it, maybe we should look at him? Fuente is an analyst at Indiana right now. I bet he’d come.
  6. Go ahead Raiders. I would hope we learned our lesson last time. Mosely was here. Take the buyout and go money-whip GJ Kinne.
  7. No. This message board is a better place when they’re not around. Let’s not page him/her.
  8. We had so much fun! SA had some fun, but not nearly as much as us!
  9. Shhh. Trust the QB guru. He'S THe GuY wHo fOUnD pAT MahOmES!!!1!!1!
  10. Trying to find what he said that was so offensive...? Are y'all talking about his comment about fans not coming to games? 'Tis true. UNT's attendance avg last season: 17,761 Marshall: 23,198 I dunno about y'all, but 6K more fans/gm is pretty noticeable. Sadly, we pulled less than the season average against our "biggest rival". That said, I hope he gets to play there, but he wasn't going to see the field here as long as Chandler is healthy.
  11. Let’s just go out there and have fun! My prediction: NT - Fun! SA - Also fun! But maybe a little more fun.
  12. That’s not how this particular thread works @NT93! This is more of a ‘postgame meltdown’ gif. Let’s hope we avoid that this week. I’m just ready to go. No expectations. Let’s just see what happens.
  13. That 2012-2013 jump is a good comparison, but I'm having a tough time finding the dudes on this year's defense that can compare to that 2013 defense (let alone the skins Skladany had on the wall VS what Caponi brings). Maybe we'll get some surprises. It would be awesome! ...but totally unexpected. As for 2016-2017, I think it's important to bring up where the program came from just 1 year prior (1-11 with the worst loss in program history in 2015), so the improvement had already begun. Littrell just continued his own momentum in 2017.
  14. You really think we're going to win 8 games this season after losing Rogers, Maclin, Adeyi, Adaway, and going 5-7 last year? I'm sorry, I hope for that, but there's no way I can expect that. Now, is <8wins/yr where we should be, as a football program? Heck no! Not against the competition we play while being located in DFW. I completely agree that "Hit 6" should not ever be a goal for the Mean Green. I expect more.
  15. I can already hear the excuses now... "We brought in Isheem to be the missing piece for the defense, but he got hurt before the season even started. We got his waiver cleared with the NCAA for 2025, and we have some guys that stepped up, so we're even more experienced in this system now..."
  16. I think the reason people keep bringing up Littrell is because during the week of September 22-29, 2018, a very very high number of Mean Green faithful believed we had truly turned that corner. Starting the year 4-0, including beating Arkansas on the road (I don't care how bad Arkansas turned out to be that season), after going 9-4 the previous season. That week was probably the high water mark of Mean Green football from my viewpoint (and I was around for the Dickey years). I never felt more confident in where NT football was headed than that week.
  17. I suppose you're not understanding, so let's break it down. I have some time today. What is your realistic expectation of the 2024 Mean Green football team this year? Consider the following: Schedule/opponents, coaching staff, players...
  18. We're talking about 2 different sets of "Expectations". You and I are on the same page when talking about the expectations you are referring to... Where we should be as a football program. Middling around .500 football when we're smack-dab in the middle of a talent hotbed like DFW is not acceptable at all. Look at what UCF was able to accomplish in a very short amount of time due to being in a talent hotbed, and appropriating the correct funding/priority to the football program. This thread (and my comments in it) is talking about the expectations of this year's football team though. And when looking at all of the pieces of this year's football team, as compared to last year's results, I don't think 6 wins is asking too much... sadly.
  19. Oh boy. He was supposed to be a game-changer at the STAR spot, which is a critical position in the 3-3-5. Huge loss; probably the worst one we could've had (outside of CMorris) considering the state of the defense.
