  1. Well, the UNT administration is being tight lipped enough about this that the TSA should consider hiring them to ensure that no information from the new airport scanning and touching peoples' junk gets leaked to the public.
  2. Hate to say it, but I was wondering the same. All is confusion.
  3. What's up with that? We're in an era where we expect leaked information.
  4. All interesting speculations, but does anyone here know anything?
  5. Interesting, was this today?
  6. You must be a rich 'un.
  7. I really haven't heard any other name that says that to me either. I'm starting to be more accepting of Matthews, maybe because he beat Virginia Tech this year. Has he recruited Texas in recent years?
  8. I still believe as you do. Unfortunately, our defense is so bad that nobody wants to watch what's going on long enough to pick out the good things. There's only three things that will make any new or returning hfc look good at North Texas; defensive tackles, cornerbacks, and coaches to get them ready to play.
  9. Uh, ok, just looked up the records for Kragthorpe and McCarney; not too impressed. Maybe these are out there to get us to like the real candidates better.
  10. Well, Kragthorpe did great at Tulsa, stunk at Louisville, but who knows what was up there? And McCarney had some success, but took a long time to get there; didn't he have an overall losing record?
  11. Dang, it's that kind of thing that just makes you want to yell at your radio. I can't say that I'd care to see any of the defensive coaches return next year; hate to say that, but just the way I feel.
  12. I would tend to think Of Drake more than the others for several reasons: he's been all-conference, played well at more than one position, and has to have been playing through pain at times.
  13. At least you don't seem to be pleading the case for or against one candidate or the other. I enjoy a discussion about the process of a coaching search.
  14. Pee in one of the only waterless urinals I know of east of the Marfa Lights Viewing Area.
  15. Just surprised this thread ain't locked.
  16. I still think it's odd that so many here talk about what assistants should/would stay if a certain head coach is hired. That's all simply left up to head coach hires except in Pro ball under guys like Jerry Jones.
  17. I'd rather we take the time and get it right; on the other hand, if it resulted in your leaving us, I guess then 6 days it is. Again, we all understand what you're saying: Hire Jim Leavitt, have RV call him now.
  18. You know, we all get it; you want us to hire Jim Leavitt.
  19. I agree with pretty much everything you've said, except for "the idea seems perfect". To me, the idea seems simple, and the emphasis you mentioned has not yielded results. If other teams without anything all that superior to what we have to offer are beating us with recruits from this area, why haven't we gotten good results (emphasizing results, not emphasis).
  20. I don't think anything was more disheartening in listening to yesterday's game than time after time hearing, after some ULM player made a big play, that (insert name here) from (insert dfw area town here) made the play. Yes, our previous head coach talked about the importance of recruiting the dfw area, but really only had experience in coaching a dfw area team. And don't tell me that (insert formerly winning head coaches name here) can bring them in based on having a winning record at (insert well known school name here). I mean, if Todd Berry, possessor of as bad a record at Army as Todd Dodge did at North Texas, didn't recruit those guys to ULM, Charlie Weatherbie, who was 31-51 at ULM did, and he did no better than break even in any of his 7 years there. I will admit to being among those whom Vito has described as seeing ULM as a program we should be beating on the field. However, I'm completely baffled as to why we can't beat them at recruiting here in our own area; the stellar attractions of nearby Shreveport? I just don't get it. Maybe I should have spent more time enjoying the attractions of Louisiana when I was stationed at Leesville in the Army.
  21. I guess that no history could help avoid that "sunk money" trap VideoEagle was talking about.
  22. I'm really starting to wonder why people at North Texas should be expected to care all that much about Jim Leavitt's financials. I'm ok with us considering whether his legals are outweighed by his coaching record, but isn't that something that people we're paying to vet candidates can take into consideration? I mean, our local high school coach said it pretty well, I think: "Colleges are not charities". I haven't really figured out why we should be conducting pity parties for candidates who may or may not have been done wrong. Face it: life isn't fair, and people at UNT shouldn't be trying to make it that way over something that happened half a continent away.
  23. Just finished looking at the stats, and nobody was doing any good running for us in the second half, and they were getting good runs out of several players. My theory is that we were facing a better defense than they were.
  24. 4 years of bad defense > my imagination
  25. Here's the bio on Tresey from his current job: Omaha UFL bio for Joe Tresey
