  1. I think it's about time for us all to just let this go.
  2. The "new note", the $100 bill brought out in 1996, was counterfeited by a guy doing that work in Denton, Texas, and documented in the book "The Art of Making Money". It's quite an interesting read, whatever one may think of the various criminal enterprises described. Strange to read about several undergraduates at TWU getting involved with the protagonist, "Art" Williams. It may come out as a movie this year. By the way, it kind of makes one want to spend a little time finding nice spots at Lake Ray Roberts, which Mr. Williams describes as, in so many words, "his own little paradise". I guess having your own little harem along for the outing could contribute to that. Here's a link to the DMN review: DMN on "The Art of Making Money"
  3. Yes, the blocking on the highlight film was extremely impressive.
  4. What about the kicker from the Hayden Fry era, now a soccer coach at a Denton high school? Of course, being from Israel, he had traveled a long way to attend high school in Denton.
  5. He seems to have an eye for a pretty girl; he'll be happy in Denton.
  6. Are the blades also changing compass direction, so as to maximize the wind potential, or does it just seem that way?
  7. It'd be interesting to know who's recruiting him. I kind of wonder if it couldn't be the new cornerbacks coach, Justin Gaines, based on this from the meangreensports.com article when he was hired: "He was instrumental in developing the state of Texas as a recruiting hotbed for Montana State, helping sign 18 players from the state in the last three years."
  8. I wasn't too happy about the position changes that were made, including switching Cantly to DE, then back to DT (which is where I, and I think most of us here, and those who knew him at Lamar, want him to play). Still, Nelson coached some guys at Iowa State who did quite well, including some who played in the NFL. Maybe there was something about the mix of coaches then that just didn't work. I honestly think Coaches Mac, Bowen, and Nelson will put the best two deep possible on the defensive line.
  9. No one here seems to prefer Whataburger, as I do, over the other two. What's up with that? The number 5 rules in downtown Euless.
  10. Now THAT would be good news.
  11. Another thing to consider is that JC football is a pretty big step up from high school, even if it is Texas 5A ball (I guess we knew that). The only reason a lot of guys start out at the JC level is because of academics, not athletics. A JC qb, even one who only started one year, has seen some good defensive players.
  12. If he wants good science education, he can find it at UNT. One poster here who is neither a student nor alumni says he finds us interesting, for one thing, because of the quality of our chemistry department. And, you're right, biology here has a good reputation, and physics has done well over the years. I like prospective student-athletes to take a thorough look at our programs before deciding whether or not this is the right place for them.
  13. I say we need to try for guys like this: 4 star HS DT out of Auburn, Alabama
  14. Ah, you are new here!
  15. You haven't seen anything till you see Scrappy and the UNT Dancers.
  16. A year from now, if we're successful, change DD to TD and you can use the same question.
  17. And he seems to get a lot of Southeast Texas journalistic support from Bob West.
  18. I gave you a +1, but that only got you back up to -3 for the original post. Maybe the preference in forums is "pie for everyone". If there's ever a real D1 national championship system, I think it should be held every year in the afternoon of MLK day. After a look at productivity, all employers would make it a day off. Plus, I think MLK would favor a truly merit based college football championship.
  19. Really, I think our defense has been missing that "don't break" part.
  20. fixed that for you. Someday, a lot more people will know his name.
  21. Yeah, it's like a guy who won't ask a girl out because none of the other guys have, yet.
  22. Don't know what this means, but it's kind of exciting.
  23. Dang, that 4.49 40 sounds good; of course these numbers may be from his high school, but he must be somewhat fleet of foot putting up those kind of numbers.
