  1. Everything you've written in this thread is just weirdness to me, but you seem convinced of it. Yep, I like a mature oak tree more than a dandelion. Just my opinion and enjoy yours.
  2. Gotta disagree. For one thing, destroying a tree that's over 100 years old deprives someone of the joy of seeing it or enjoying some shade from it, even if you don't. For another, noone has the right to destroy something that doesn't belong to them. If it is on public land, do you grant someone the right to take what is at least partly yours? If so, how can you grant them the right to take what is at least partially owned by many others? On the other hand, I don't like people tearing up anything just for the sake of jacking with other people and what they care about.
  3. +1. As a fellow UNT alum at work said once, "Denton always seemed like a friendly place".
  4. ADD? Me too. Look, a squirrel!
  5. The mayor says it didn't count: My link
  6. Man, that's not the only key to Dallas that's been given away in the lead up the the Super Bowl. Change the locks?
  7. Plus, this should be a highly motivated staff; several of them have experienced recent career reversals with such as the unexpected and untimely firing of coaches Leavitt and Mangino, and will be on a mission to improve their lot in life.
  8. I think this is the case more for D2; I was noticing when that DE went to Tarleton that there was some pretty good talent coming out of the Lone Star Conference lately and going to the NFL. The academic standards are certainly lower at D2 level than FBS, not sure about FCS.
  9. Just in case you're thinking about Tune, Coach Chico specifically said today on the Live Chat that he did not get the medical hardship.
  10. I'd been noticing that on a lot of our opponents last year or two; don't remember us using them consistently. Maybe we'll see that next year.
  11. Ah, sorry about that; didn't read all the way to the end, I guess.
  12. I think the "21 out of 22" he was referring to was the number he reported before signing day out of the total signed, if you're talking about his "Signing Day Notes". It wasn't about us, it was about Vito on that one.
  13. I was thinking about that recently; somewhere it was noted that the starting DT's were basically used almost every defensive play last year. I thought it looked like Cantly, Abbe, and White were being worked in more after Chico took over as interim. I wonder if that was just part of what the previous staff thought would win them enough games to stay on, and not really thinking past 2010. And I have heard the defensive coaches at Euless Trinity mention that playing a lot of guys on the line not only keeps them fresh, but also helps morale.
  14. Yeah, I couldn't get anything from the highlights film either, but I didn't have Internet access most of the yesterday; I'm thinking there are Internet access issues that are either weather related or that a lot of people are off work so hitting the Internet while they're home, sucking up the bandwidth. Oh well, my mother in law over in Hurst doesn't have power right now, so there's bigger problems going on in the area. I was glad I could hear Coach Mac talk for a little bit. Oh yeah, I do think Kram1 may have something, that not all these issues are going to be at the server end. Maybe we could get a network administrator on to talk about all the possibilities, since we may have just run out of things to talk about until spring training.
  15. I'll second what you just said, SUMG, another 2 big ones for us, and another +1 for FMG!
  16. Thanks Harry, those are two big ones, the ones many of us were holding our breath over.
  17. If they don't sign some spring eligible JUCO DT's in this class, they're irrelevant anyway.
  18. +1, I like the two DT's we got; they seem like guys who want to be here.
  19. Welcome home to the place of much good food and music.
  20. +1 for you and your Texas Ranger ancestor; I'm guessing he had to be out in such as this.
  21. I had nothing in particular against Okafor, even after he flipped. However, once I saw where he had no varsity experience, I was glad that scholarship was freed up for someone who did. I'm happy about the way this turned out.
  22. +1, NT03, and this is GOOD NEWS!
  23. He didn't seem hurt too bad in the K-State game.
  24. I agree, especially with the part about how the staff deals with it. It may be an opportunity to assess team needs (most here would agree interior linemen on both sides, and perhaps another receiver). Also, I don't want guys here who are on the fence about it. UNT and Denton have a lot to offer; however, it may be the right place for some, hands down, and one of several "options" for others. I want our scholarships to go to guys who can help the team and who want to be here; someone who switches commitments twice in 2 weeks has to be viewed with some skepticism.
  25. There's someone following this thread right now who might provide a little insight.
