  1. Nobody deserves anything, but what they earn. And we earned it.
  2. It would only affect one game that he coached, in his first year, so no.
  3. I really like the ideas in your second and third paragraph. However, that big "if" in the first paragraph highlights a problem that has never been overcome in the state legislature.
  4. This group should be honored as a team ASAP.
  5. Oh, and just one thing before I go out to strut in my Mean Green gear; CMJ rocks! I bet even Bill Blakeley is saying so right now.
  6. I really like the secondary players we have recruited this year, and since he'd have to sit out a year, he'd have to compete against 2 years of recruiting by our new coaching staff. I think a likely scenario might be him getting some significant playing time in the second half of the first season he played, but what would make him all that different from a true freshman at corner? I admire that he took a stand for what he believes in, but he may come to personally question whether it was really a good idea to do so.
  7. That's a true statement in a Denton-centric universe. In the following link from Roy Orbison's official website bio, click on the link for the decade of the 1950's (left side), and scroll down to the second paragraph, where Dallas is referred to as "South-East" of Denton. Roy Orbison's time in Denton Of course, in a music-centric universe, Dallas would only be referred to by its location with respect to Denton.
  8. What I would really like to see is for ways to keep more of our big guys on campus this summer, or otherwise to have more direct contact with the S&C staff between the end of the spring semester and the start of fall practice. It seems like there were at least a couple of guys we hoped would have big years who came into fall camp noticeably above their previous year's weight, and not in good condition.
  9. +1 again; I and all UNT geography graduates owe you for your efforts on behalf of our long ignored field of study. Of course, once Geographic Information Systems evolved into what it is now, someone will always have something for us to do. The politicians will wear us out with redistricting for the next 3 years.
  10. No wonder you're late to the tailgating.
  11. +1; and thanks for reminding us that Texas public education funding is among programs proposed to be cut. In a way though, However, I find it hard to sympathize with the argument that we need to keep money going into the support of standardized testing. Some people, such as myself, are simply good at taking most standardized tests. People have different learning styles. I strongly disagree with the idea of increasing classroom size as a budget balancing move.
  12. Not before getting a massage by the worst massage therapist in Hot Springs, the one who starts talking about "no pain, no gain", just before he hears the handcuffs click, fastening him to the chains anchored to the concrete walls of the "spa".
  13. Based on that, I'd offer him. Our secondary play hasn't been great lately.
  14. Hey, someone mentioned earlier something about a poster having an "off night", maybe CMJ? I think he's having a pretty good night, and it's bound to be 2/28/11 somewhere.
  15. Don't touch the junk in my trunk.
  16. About the same time as we had for formation, isn't it?
  17. +1, and a good find SUMG! What a lot of people, including some GMG.com members, don't realize is that coach McCarney has credibility developing DL players, and will be as involved as he feels is necessary to improve that aspect of our football team.
  18. +1, and well played.
  19. I'd love to see that; however, I sat next to Collin's mother at a UNT game, and she seemed to think he should have been getting more minutes than he was that night. She seemed convinced then that Collin would end up playing in Italy next; anyone hear anything about him lately?
  20. +1, and I was wondering about the injury factor as I was driving home. It sounds like some of the guys we have contributing a lot of minutes are playing hurt.
  21. That could explain why he seems to play well coming off the bench.
  22. I have a coworker who runs the game clock for SMU as a part time gig. He hasn't tired of telling me what a good get Mangrum was for SMU. I have told him I'm tired of hearing about it. I kinda wished he'd gotten some more playing time while here.
  23. Dude, a lot of us here don't get what your big deal is.
  24. +1. Thanks for explaining it simply enough that almost anyone should be able to understand.
