  1. And sometimes FCS wins. If LaLa wins, will you post on the board about how great the crow tastes?
  2. I've said before that I thought he'd play corner, but at this point, I don't care; I just don't want opposing receivers coming as free next year as they have this year, and I think he can help.
  3. I would like to see at least some "regionally famous" musician or group, ideally one with a UNT connection, performing on "The Hill" at every home game, before evening games and after day games. This would do a couple of things (1.) create a focus for game day activities to counteract what seems like a more scattered tailgating scene-which is understandable and overall a good thing with more "room" for everyone, but doesn't create a "main attraction" that might make for more excitement, and (2.) make "The Hill", a truly unique piece of football geography, more of a community gathering spot than a "Hillgating" spot for those who can be there early enough to stake it out. And just because I think someone may only be regionally famous doesn't mean it is necessarily so; one guy I would really like to see perform there would be Ray Wylie Hubbard, a UNT alum who has at times been more renowned in Europe than the United States. Heck, Brave Combo would probably be affordable and generate a lot of interest and excitement. It's hard to sit still when they're playing!
  4. Win the toss, start with the wind at our backs.
  5. Must...stop...toppers, and prove Bowen the genius their board said he was last year.
  6. You talking La Villita, right off the Riverwalk? Love that place.
  7. Stupid human tricks.
  8. I KNOW the Green Brigade could do an outstanding cover of the old "Tequila" instrumental.
  9. Hey, mess with his head, but DO NOT mess with his junk.
  10. Not "Western" Civilization, but Civilization itself hangs in the balance!
  11. Hey, glad to see your positive take on our season at this point. I'm now doubling down on the green koolaid. Compared to where we were, 4 wins is a big turnaround. Next up, beat someone who is having a very big turnaround, WKU.
  12. I'm not sure the poll is a good idea, but what the hey, I bit on it. Put my vote in the Dunbar column, but kind of think that may just be sentimental on my part, with all the variables that will be in play on Saturday night. Sentimental just doesn't mean much in college football.
  13. I used to hate them, but now I love to hate them. Somehow it seems different. Also, I like the one guy from their board, "dahbeed" who posts here sometime. He's almost too realistic to post on an Internet Forum, but he has kind of a cool sense of humor.
  14. Glad to hear about the win! Sorry not to attend, but the old 9 to 5 gets in the way. Just wondering, are they still playing "on stage" there, or do they have their new coliseum built?
  15. Yes, sir, Sir! Also count on some coaches in Denton, Texas looking forward to seeing what Mr. Wallace can do.
  16. The manager in our office said a couple of years ago that Thompson was "the real thing" (saw him at some 7 on 7 camp). I'm having to agree with him.
  17. My man Ivan Delgado caught 9 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. Also, in the first half, he caught a 3rd down pass to keep a scoring drive alive. On the last drive, where we essentially ran out the clock, he made receptions to convert on two 3rd down plays.
  18. Uh, no. The Penn State story is so far beyond the celebrity news cycle, those comparisons just won't wash. Sure, Penn State will survive as an institution, but will be seen as having sunk to a level so far below those schools cited for actual football related infractions, they they won't be the same school again. Those involved in this in any way as victims and family will never be the same; those who were the perpetrators and their protectors will only have their family members seen as deserving any sympathy by those not blinded by school loyalty.
  19. Football only?
  20. Anyone sent to prison over this may not make it out alive.
  21. Penn State administration is figuring out who to drop a dime on to save their own sorry asses. I think there's people high enough in their food chain and well enough in the know about what happened that they may be trying to figure out the right timing for throwing JoePa under the bus. I'm sure they're still hoping that Joe saying it ain't so will work, but he may find out like a few others just how dispensable football coaches can be when they're seen as a liability. Still, I may be naive; I'm surprised that Dave Bliss got away with all he did at Baylor, and he was just a run of the mill basketball coach. The problem for Penn State is, their lawyers will be telling the administration to keep quiet, and anyone who reads any of this will wonder just who all knew what and when, making it a real problem for any PSU administrator, football coach and even players in their program during the time this was happening to avoid being under a cloud.
  22. Maybe a warm front will arrive in time for you to spend the night sleeping on a friend's couch up on the hill.
  23. So then, can we take yesterday as a point from which there are no "for sure losses"? I mean, ULM had no reason to think they would be leading by two scores with two minutes left in the game with ULL. I know the Cajun faithful will tell folks they never had any reason to doubt they would score twice in the last two minutes, but how often does that happen? Everything that happened in college football yesterday makes me think the operative word for fans, coaches, and players is: BELIEVE.
  24. Let's not take WKU for granted. Taggert was quoted after going to his kicking game for the win after it had struggled all game, “I believe in our guys, and that’s why you see us keep lining up to take field goals." I believe in our guys; let's all show up and do our part to help them when we play them this year.
  25. Well, it helps if they think they can.
