  1. Well, damn, I just hate to hear that. I never followed his career all that much, but have for a number of years considered him eminently quotable; perhaps more so than any college football coach, although Hayden Fry is hard to beat. This is my favorite: "Old ugly is better than old nothing."
  2. It's just south of the toint.
  3. I'll agree with that MTSU guy on this "It does have to hurt them, depth-wise, however".
  4. Uh, not good enough. He needs to go high first round or wait.
  5. Pretty much says it all; plus, Temple would only have stayed in CUSA until its first chance to get back to its first love, the Big East.
  6. I was taking you serious up until SMU. From what I've heard, their big arena plans won't mean much until they create an exit strategy for Coach Doh's doghouse. Yeah, they could make that great next hire, but their basketball history hasn't been kind to them in that regard.
  7. The Bossa Nova?
  8. +1, and it's hard to believe the premise of this thread, to suggest that loss as due to poor coaching, unless the coaches somehow caused individual players to forget how to shoot free throws. Yeah, maybe there should be more time spent on that aspect of the game, but players should be practicing free throws with their younger family members and the neighborhood kids or whenever they get the chance. Still, nobody has explained the kind of lapse we saw Saturday. My analysis: don't spend much time analyzing the last game.
  9. I'm kinda thinking it was partly my fault, but I just don't feel that powerful. Maybe it was the cold I had earlier in the week.
  10. +1, but don't do yourself in over this piece of #@!& thread. I haven't even met you yet.
  11. I appreciate you, Tony. It was cold (shooting) when you went to the bench. Yeah, we need depth.
  12. +1. Performance still matters.
  13. I read your stuff and think about Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmens' signature hit, "Down to seeds and stems again blues". Seems like part of that was set in Bowling Green, so that could be it. Here's the link: Commander Cody; Down to Seeds and Stems Again Blues
  14. I got to know her when we both first started college. I've looked back and regretted listening to my a-hole "friends" who talked about how homely she was, when I could have thrown them under the bus and kept having a good ole time with that fun loving gal. Of course I was a jerk and a moron for listening to those guys.
  15. Skladany coached LB's as well as being DC at Iowa State, also coached LB's for a year at UCF: UCF bio for Skladany
  16. Maybe I'm just not seeing the South Central Texas vision, but man the whole thing sounds like, "hey, we really need to lower our standards". I will say I've enjoyed watching us play at UTAin basketball, but we already do that most years.
  17. In a way, that's a change for the better, when our coaches are being hired away by NFL teams.
  18. There's some evil genius right now figuring out how to make it work.
  19. I think it's amazing that she and the women's team have done as well as they have with (I think) the players being mostly the same as last year. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. Well, that's exactly right, that the most important thing right now is Dan McCarney's health. This kind of puts things in perspective.
  21. Hmmm, this is so DIFFERENT from all those threads about the major health issues facing our head football coach and the future conference home of our sports program. It should get 'em worked up down at the Road Kill cafe!
  22. Hmmm, San Diego State has some nice beaches nearby, and they have been known to party hearty.
  23. If anyone here thinks obsessing is really a good idea, please think about this guy and reconsider.
  24. I think it's 90% about how a handful of dudes can show how they can be both ignorant. arrogant, and really have nothing to say all at the same time. The real point to me is: I don't care what folks like that say. Nothing to see; let's move along.
